@imaRoLLingStonzFan This is from a DVD recorded in Tampa Bay Fl 3/16/02. Doug was 66 and that's his son Tyler on the drums - he was 24. You should get the DVD - it's great!!! Doug still does shows but I dont know how to find his schedule - if anyone has that info I would appreciate your passing it on. I'm sure there are plenty of fans who would love that info. I do know that he is doing a festival in Gretna La Oct 7-9 2011.
WOW, First time I seen him Was on TV (circa 1960's). Uglier than a mud fence in a bright green velvet suit , think it was Johnny Cash Show) but DAMN COULD HE PLAY THAT FIDDLE! Got his albums

LMAO ! Seated man in hawaiian shirt and blackout shades at 6:47 is actually a zombie corpse....sent by satan to collect shakedown money from the nightclub. He's the only one in the entire establishment who isn't clapping and shaking their ass.
This man is amazing! His voice sounds the same as 30 yrs ago. Goes to show if you love what you do, take care of your health and in this case his voice. He is a music blessing. My entire family just loves this man!
I remember my whole family dancing in the livingroom listening to Doug Kershaw... even my dad would laugh and dance. Who could sit .... you had to move!!! So glad to happen on this video! So glad to see this man continues to be energetic and share his incredibe talent still....thank you thank you thank you !
was watching Jim Stafford play the violin, which I had never seen him do, and Ragin Cajun popped into my head. Hadn't see Doug in eons, and came looking. Always fun to see and hear.
I've seen the vid, and it's very obvious that the music does not match the action on stage. There has been so much post-production that it becomes distracting. I only watched part of it once. Really disappointing.
Do you have any more from this concert?? I have loved this man's music and performing for over 35 years. If you do, please put it up here. I'd be delighted to see more from this concert!! And Thank You very much for this clip!! :-)
At the 3:34 mark he stops playing but you can still hear the fiddle so who's playing this or is it dubbed somethings a bit odd is going on here.

@Bill437 YES. And he at around 3:45 the sound of the fiddle is gone but he still plays. WTF.?!!

Along with Roy Clark, Doug is the "King of Strings". I just wish that this video was properly recorded and handled.
