They're very territorial. That's why they do most of their fighting. It's a probably a territorial dispute. You just came upon it by accident. Most iguanas in the wild are very territorial. If one crosses another. A fight normally breaks out. Usually they don't hurt themselves too seriously. Someone usually stops the fight before someone gets killed or seriously injuried. It's usually the less aggressive of the 2 iguanas that walks away from the fight. It maybe breeding season too. Who Knows!
