1500. And, you weren't there. Aaaand, you missed the point. I'm just saying the Titanic wasn't a big deal until it sank. You can't (off the top of your head) tell me who was Purser on the Oceanic on the night the Titanic sank. Why? Because the Oceanic wasn't busily sinking that night, so no one gives a shit. It would've been the same deal with the Titanic. I'm glad it sunk - what a great topic, and what a wake-up call with regards to traveling safely in ice-strewn seas.
I just watched Titanics before in Star Cinemas =( I almost cry that time. But I Imagined that it's not me =') But I'm still sad for those who died in titanics..
and prepare for a visit to the The Scottish Fisheries Museum, see the video links and the pull down links and you'll appreciate your visit much more!
@TheBump465 Chuck Norris was the one who sank the Titanic. The ship was arrogant enough to come near HIS iceberg so he roundhouse kicked it. When it wouldn't sink fast enough, he roundhouse kicked it again, splitting it in half.
While I respect that Titanic is a grave for many humans and it should be respected,on the same token scientist are predicting that in the next 20 years or so do to deterioration, there will be nothing left of the Titanic. So for the history's sake maybe we should bring up whatever is possible, before mother nature completes her task. Any exhibition of that ship would preserve it's memory for generations that didn't live in times of this tragedy. Also, that would eliminate grave robbing business.
They should bring up the items of the ship, why leave them for the sea to rot when we can save them and show people what they are like, just a shame we cant bring the whole ship up, that would be such a event of the 21st century!!!!!!!!!!
@tur74d56 Plenty of items such as dishes, clothes, furniture, jewelry, etc.. have been brought up. Also certain sections of the ship have been salvaged & saved. Go to the TITANIC exhibition in Las Vegas. It's amazing. You can see the items yourself.
@djcountry1985 The ship is decomposited that much, that it would rip apart if we try to lift it...it will collaps by itself in the next year, because the steel is decomposited by iron-bacteria
@djcountry1985 yes, but its buried 60 feet in the but, and the stern has blown to peices, so, I wouldnt lift it. What would we do to it? It would crumble if we stood on it.
@djcountry1985 She would dissolve before we get her to the top. Its great we have the technology but that boat is a graveyard and should be left alone.
Dr Rob Ballard and his team found the Titanic...and they left it intact with a commemoration plate strategically dropped onto the bow deck......the ship's remains were later plundered and robbed out by a team of French "souvenir hunters" with no respect for the dead or no understanding that the Titanic is now a mass grave.
@gigoer your rite not only that we will be disturbing the resting place of all those people that perished with the titanic we wouldnt want anyone wanting digging up our grave wen we die same thing goes for them
@Scizor3D Too right my friend. Titanic has been & still is ravaged by underwater microbes for 99 years. The second you try to move it, it falls apart without ever getting next to near the ocean surface. Not withstanding that over 1500 people died on Titanic, hundreds of whom were never recovered, so it's a graveyard for all those people. You wouldn't disturb or destroy a stranger's grave so why do it to Titanic? You can visit a grave without touching it, so leave it at that & leave it alone.
I just realized something ::: The Titanic sank in 1912. The "End of the World" is said to happen in 2012, 100 years from when Titanic sank! Maybe God was so pissed that Titanic sank, he set the world to be destroyed when the Titanic COMPLETELY deteriorated (Decemper 21, 2012). This makes alot of sense, even though I know it's all bullshit. JUST a theory, people.
@zjbeast well i didnt mean exactly. like i said in the comment: once it COMPLETELY deteriorated. It's not like once 100years on-the-dot are up it will just POOF! disappear. but you gotta admit, it's a hell of a theory
I remember when this discovery was made public. I had hoped that the ship was intact and could be raised somehow. But now we know differently, and it will be forever protected as a grave site...at least from human destruction. We know what Mother Nature is doing to the site.
Wow, in 1985 they were WAY off, if they even knew what the ship LOOKED like on the inside, (it's contents,), they'd know they could have an entire new one built with that kind of money. XD (or half of it built).
the titanic sink because they said not even God can sink this boat.... so God prove by putting an iceberg he could....a leave of a tree doesn't move if God doesn't allowes it
titanic sunk because it was made of French iron wich was at the time pretty bad iron, in cold waters in couldn't resist to little impacts such as icebergs, and unfortunaly it was pretty god damn gold at the time.
Free inexhaustible energy is real! But the Establishment doesn't want ppl to know this,Find the real deal, a free energy device at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Big change is comming soon!
@IntegraTron2010 do you know how high is the pressure down there? It wouldn't be possible, and would be stupid. That's Titanic's grave and last place to rest. It is also its victims grave, so it would be kinda insane taking it back to earth.
Its impossible to resurrect. The wreck is too far gone. Its been down there almost 100 years. With the passing of time and decay, some sections have collapsed: It would be too fragile to try any sort of lift, and anyway you would have the problem of all the weight of the water above it ( which would have to be moved out of the way) to contend with.
Yes, I agree. Many of the salvageable artifacts are in the Halifax, Nova Scotia Nautical Museum to be viewed and enjoyed, but I say let the Grand Lady herself rest in peace.
@tmmitzzie It's the cold water that did it in. 'Cause her sister ship Britannic sank off the coast of Greece *or somewhere around there* And it's in warm water, so it's nicely preserved. In fact, they'd wanted to turn it into a underwater museam.
@2038165479 I'm sorry but the wreck is deteriorating very fast and back in 2004 it was really bad.. so now it must be worse.. maybe there's nothing left.. :( its sad but true
@theretrogamerno1 They said, that with in the next 50 years, Titanic will be a big orange stain at the the bottom of the Atlantic, but somethings will always be their 4ever like the propellers, because they are made of bronze and somthing else. I've watched different specials on this.
YeeHawWooHoo, Oddly it is the fact that the Vasa is wood is what saved it. The water was so cold and so devoid of oxygen that preserved the hull. Sadly that type of water destroys metal.
@Footloose4ever Not to mention the fact, that it weighs tons!!! lol. I mean, we would need special machinery to get it out. But, above all, like you said, many would agree that it would be out of respect, for all those people who died. Although, deeply inside I wish we could get what's remaining, just because I think it would be awesome to have it on display for future generations to know about the Titanic. Eventually, mother nature will do its job and it won't be there to explore in the future.
i find it weird that the wooden ship vasa could be lifted and put on display despite that it's wooden and was on the bottom for over 300 years and titanic can't
I'm not trying to be clever, but if I was the captain or a member of the control crew I would not only have 'all-stopped' the engines after hitting the icebergs , I would've then reversed the ship back to as near as possible to the icebergs. That way more people would have survived - there would be a good chance that people could clamber on top of them instead of freezing to death in the freezing water.
@Hotrodx199 (Crazy idea, I know, but, it's an IF, statement, probably won't happen, but I hope it does.), IF, I ever get enough money, I'm going to keep living where I live, and, instead of moving, and getting a bunch of great things (expensive), I'll try to make sure the Titanic finishes that voyage one way or another, and if it happens, it'll be like it never sank in the first place. (except for the #2 funnel missing. :P ) because we can put it on later.
@Hotrodx199 I thought the same thing when I was a kid and I spent many, many days looking into it but it is impossible for two reasons. 1: the ship itself is split in two. 2: even if you were to carefully bring it back to the surface all you would have is a scrap metal since the metal itself has been deteriorating for almost 100 years. And frankly, I think that in itself would be a disgrace to everyone that died that tragic day.
@Hotrodx199 Apparently, that's what's happening for the 100th anniversary next April but of a ship that looks the same, same menu, same number of rooms, same amount of passengers but with a different name and on a journey from Southampton to New York. Now, that's a strong tribute.
Hope they don't find that iceberg that sank the Titanic.
very tragic ive always been fasinated by the sinking of titanic, i see it as natures way of letting mankind know that nothing is indestructable. i recently watched a tv program where it showed you the way titanic was built and why she gave way so easy, it also explained why she split into, it was really interesting, there were so many things wrong with her, that she really was far from indestructable, has her maiden voyage proved!

@bopkick5
An ice berg is part of an ice shelf. Which in itself is below freezing.

@Hotrodx199 the titanic is being attacked by rust eating bactiria.

And frankly, I think that in itself would be a disgrace to everyone that died that tragic day.
narutofan8675309 1 year ago
@Hotrodx199 if they ever try to do that, it would probly fall apart...its been like 100 years :(
AZZY2142 1 year ago 2
