I hated the computers that were donated to the schools. We had to use them, and wait hours in labs after school to do our homework on them. Go to buy one, at the bookstore, and I was looking at three grand of more for a Mac.
Not to mention, five grand for a lousy lazer printer. Had to put up with the sanctimonious pricks at the lab, in the library, who sat around, playing with the balls in the mouse, after classes were out. Waiting for a chance to use one of those bummer Macs, because the professor would not take my perfectly typewritten paperwork, I did at home....
I hated him way back then in the eighties for that.... People were ripping the things out of the labs, off the security cable, and running. Pretty pathetic! That was their marketing plan? Donate these things to the schools, and artificially raise the price? Wow! I never owned any Apple products, all these years. I used IBM clone computers in the eighties, and later on, built my own custom computers. So, hope you enjoy Hell, Steve Jobs. Cause, I would send you there, if it was up to me!
Macs are better they are fairly priced for the quality you are getting right out of the box. And also what creative things can you do on a windows pc without the internet (nothing) ,as with a mac you can do things such as video editing and much more. Also with mac you don't have to be worried that every time you use a application that is just a bit stressing that your computer can take it and will not crash like a pc would 90% of the time.
I used to hate on Apple and OS X but once I learned about them I feel in love with them. That's why I am now a proud Mac user and I love every minute of it.

Macs are the only compatible computer for everybody. PC's do have some things that macs don't but when you use a mac you realize it has a lot more great features then a PC. I am a Mac user myself and i cant imagine how PC could top it. Windows 7 has been successful but still it doesn't match the Macintosh. Back when i was a PC user the computer had 11 Viruses in the 2 years i had it. Anybody that thinks that Apple is bad, you obviously haven't used a mac before. And the price is worth it.

also with macs even with one brand you have to pay one price which can be very expensive. With a pc you get many choices of software to see what kind of programming it can do and it comes in many prices
my emachine e525 has internet speeds 3x faster than a macbook pro. and i only got it for around $430.00 and my anti virus blocks all viruses that try to get onto my computer. It comes with more memory and hard drive than the imac. It has 900 cpu and all of that so yeah apple is sh*t

@DanielChristy19 no, Widgets were first invented by Yahoo! They were called Konfabrelator widgets (I failed on the spelling) and made for Mac OS X Panther in around 2003. For Tiger in 2004 Apple decided to implement the Widgets into the OS by default because they were so popular and then Windows Vista comes along
windows is a piece of crap... i was rendering some motion graphics on cinema 4d and c4d was half way through the render but my laptop was running out of charge so i put it on hibernate and put it on charge... 10 mins after i put it on hibernate all of a sudden my laptop turns on by its self and windows says it is doing some thing and then when i eventually get to log back in every application was shut down... so had to start the render again which took 3 and a half hours

If Windows Vista lost put windows in the Red, Microsoft could have said "Let's use the Xbox profits to work on fixing Vista." Just an example. But there are different teams developing each, which is why I treat each of them with different opinions, although I do believe Microsoft as a whole is not a well together company.
@BlueFoxTV the i7 chip debuted in Nov 2008, iMacs with i7s were shipping in Nov 2009. Sure, one year later, but I'm sure it takes some time to deliver and design new hardware along with costs. That's one year. You make is sound like YEARS have gone by with Macs in the stone age. and Mac Pros have been using Xeons for 4 years now with 4 & 8 core. The MacOS can actually run on a lot of hardware, sure a bit limited, but there are reasons why. software? yes, I need 47 of the same thing instead of 6.

This doesn't happen much in the software game. I have yet to see Office get any lower in price. Funny thing is, there used to be high end video and DVD software on the PC/Windows ... I have a macbook (X10) and my main rig is a PC (7). I see no advantage with either, u just need to learn both OS's. They are both doing the same thing just in different ways. I would say that Mac's are more expensive, if u were to spend like for like on a PC i imagine that you would get a much faster machine. The Virus issue to me is now a none issue. Since installing windows security essentials I have not had a virus. aprox 2 years. Stop the hate, both sides your more similar then different!

I actually use Windows. I don't hate Apple or Mac users. I actually LOVE the apple computers! I WANT my parents to buy me one. But I can't have everything......
The main reason for my apple hate is that a few years back I was installing Quicktime...back when it came bundled with iTunes. It asked me if I wanted to install iTunes as well (no), but it did it anyway and ran it as a background process. It searched my computer for all my media (including the external HD backups), and converted it to various iTunes formats without asking me if it shoudl do so. Fortunately I still had all my CDs so I could re-rip; but it soured me on Apple forever.
I understand Apple dedicated fans have a beef with Microsoft users and vice versa, but you're not giving any good reasons why Apple is better, which sounds like what you're trying to do.
I love both. Plus you can't compare the two evenly. Apple has a much broader range of products. Microsoft has barely anything. Marketing wise, yes Apple is a clear winner. Personally, for me as a web/graphic designer, I prefer to work on a Mac thanks to shortcuts. But it's easier to get a PC set up due to cost.

@AGsArmorWarrior With a laptop, you can't replace crap anyways. And that's pretty much mainstream now-a-days. Upgradability only matters when your hardware goes out every 3 years. Meanwhile, mac doesn't stress to use it's hardware, and your stuff will actually last AND work like new for years on end. Thus, you don't need to spend 1000 dollars every 3 years, but maybe every 10. And 250 is for one part. Put all the parts together, and you might as well buy a whole new computer.
quality of any PMP in the market, and the best video quality, well other than the iPhone 4, but it's not a PMP since it can't play basic files. And for your argument about innovation, well it's dated because Windows 7 wasn't out at the time. As for iLife, well we have better software it just doesn't come with the computer, but I'm sure even you can download a file. Also you can't upgrade Mac hardware so if you want a new graphics card you must buy an entirely new (continued in next comment)
nice design, they make sexy devices, but so do plenty of PC companies such as Alienware. Now to the iPhone, it looks nice, but it is a horrible MP3 player, it can't play FLAC files, it can't handle high quality headphones like Sennheiser, Grado, etc, etc. Now to different versions of the same OS... Just buy Ultimate and shut up, there's only 3 versions, not too difficult to choose. As for the Zune I hate Zunes and iPods, I'm a Cowon guy, they have the best audio (continued in next comment)

I've seen the different OS versions. Why, when I buy a high OS for 300 dollars more do I get less/different stuff than the lower OS. It seems like I'm paying more for the same exact crap. There should just be 1 version that has everything I need. No crapware/bloatware. Ultimate isn't different from PRO or Home in writing. It just has different stuff.
I'll address all of your points. First viruses, Macs get viruses too, it's just that nobody takes the time to make them since there are so few Macs in the computer market, so less targets. Just buy virus protection... Now how OS 10 is easy to use, it may be easy to use, but do they really need to dumb it down for everyone? You can do more with Windows, and if you think that it's too difficult, well then you're a little slow. Now design, I have to admit they do have (continued in next comment)
@AGsArmorWarrior Macintosh has a lot of fun stuff for power users. Ever heard of Terminal? Probably not. You can do a whole bunch of stuff, and there is stuff in the bundled apps for power users. I have played with Garageband for years, and still haven't even touched 1/4 of its features. Same as iPhoto and all of iLife. and an easier OS is nice for everybody. I doesn't mean we're dumb, it just means we want something that will work without having to do a bunch of crap to it first.
@rifall Excuse me for not giving you as much attention as you gave me, but I will tell you that the only problem I have with Mac OS X is the lack of file support. What I hate is Apple as a company. I dislike their ridiculous pricing for shitty hardware, and I dislike iPods for their lack of file support. What you say about durability may be true, but I've never gotten rid of a PC because it stopped working, I've only bought new ones, so I wouldn't say either has an advantage in that aspect.

Macs are better they are fairly priced for the quality you are getting right out of the box. And also what creative things can you do on a windows pc without the internet (nothing) ,as with a mac you can do things such as video editing and much more. Also with mac you don't have to be worried that every time you use a application that is just a bit stressing that your computer can take it and will not crash like a pc would 90% of the time.

Macs are the only compatible computer for everybody. PC's do have some things that macs don't but when you use a mac you realize it has a lot more great features then a PC. I am a Mac user myself and i cant imagine how PC could top it. Windows 7 has been successful but still it doesn't match the Macintosh. Back when i was a PC user the computer had 11 Viruses in the 2 years i had it. Anybody that thinks that Apple is bad, you obviously haven't used a mac before. And the price is worth it.

For Tiger in 2004 Apple decided to implement the Widgets into the OS by default because they were so popular and then Windows Vista comes along

windows is a piece of crap... i was rendering some motion graphics on cinema 4d and c4d was half way through the render but my laptop was running out of charge so i put it on hibernate and put it on charge... 10 mins after i put it on hibernate all of a sudden my laptop turns on by its self and windows says it is doing some thing and then when i eventually get to log back in every application was shut down... so had to start the render again which took 3 and a half hours

I work As an administrator and i spend lots of time useing both Systems.
And well i agree that Apple design is excellent and cutting edge.There hardware is not.
Only recently has Apple started using Core i7 CPUs. Some thing that Windows and Linux users have been able to use for a year's now.
My only problem with Mac OS. is that its very limited. in the soft ware and hard ware it can run.
My main problem is the users. Picture it what do you think of when you picture the typical apple user

@BlueFoxTV the i7 chip debuted in Nov 2008, iMacs with i7s were shipping in Nov 2009. Sure, one year later, but I'm sure it takes some time to deliver and design new hardware along with costs. That's one year. You make is sound like YEARS have gone by with Macs in the stone age. and Mac Pros have been using Xeons for 4 years now with 4 & 8 core. The MacOS can actually run on a lot of hardware, sure a bit limited, but there are reasons why. software? yes, I need 47 of the same thing instead of 6.

I have a macbook (X10) and my main rig is a PC (7). I see no advantage with either, u just need to learn both OS's. They are both doing the same thing just in different ways. I would say that Mac's are more expensive, if u were to spend like for like on a PC i imagine that you would get a much faster machine. The Virus issue to me is now a none issue. Since installing windows security essentials I have not had a virus. aprox 2 years. Stop the hate, both sides your more similar then different!

But mac is just shit, they have the cheek to get a motherboard from a pc and put it on the other side of the case but upside down so the graphics card is at the top of the case etc, oh and "thecreativeone" you dont have to buy a dell or a compaq or a hewlett packard to get a windows based pc, there something called "building your own pc" and its cheaper.

The main reason for my apple hate is that a few years back I was installing Quicktime...back when it came bundled with iTunes. It asked me if I wanted to install iTunes as well (no), but it did it anyway and ran it as a background process. It searched my computer for all my media (including the external HD backups), and converted it to various iTunes formats without asking me if it shoudl do so. Fortunately I still had all my CDs so I could re-rip; but it soured me on Apple forever.

I understand Apple dedicated fans have a beef with Microsoft users and vice versa, but you're not giving any good reasons why Apple is better, which sounds like what you're trying to do.
I love both. Plus you can't compare the two evenly. Apple has a much broader range of products. Microsoft has barely anything. Marketing wise, yes Apple is a clear winner. Personally, for me as a web/graphic designer, I prefer to work on a Mac thanks to shortcuts. But it's easier to get a PC set up due to cost.

Viruses/Spyware: MACS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO VIRUSES AND MALWARE. GET THIS THROUGH YOUR SKULL.
A lot of decent anti-virus stuff is free anyway, or failing that reasonably cheap.
The mac mouse sucks. Having only one button feels like having a finger amputated. It's like replacing a swiss army knife with a slab of playdoh.
Overall, macs are for rich idiots who don't know how real computers work

Viruses/spyware: Easy to write for windows, difficult to make for Mac.
Antivirus: waste of Hard disk space and memory power.
Mac mouse: You don't have to use it. You may use a different one. Second mouse click can be done with Ctrl+click. Or failing that, click and hold.

computer, but with a PC you just buy the graphics card, install it, and you're good to go, no need to spend $2000, you just pay up to $250. Same with all parts of a computer, no need to ever buy a new computer, just keep upgrading the one you have. So if you want to respond to this go right ahead, I'd love to see your response.

@AGsArmorWarrior With a laptop, you can't replace crap anyways. And that's pretty much mainstream now-a-days. Upgradability only matters when your hardware goes out every 3 years. Meanwhile, mac doesn't stress to use it's hardware, and your stuff will actually last AND work like new for years on end. Thus, you don't need to spend 1000 dollars every 3 years, but maybe every 10. And 250 is for one part. Put all the parts together, and you might as well buy a whole new computer.

quality of any PMP in the market, and the best video quality, well other than the iPhone 4, but it's not a PMP since it can't play basic files. And for your argument about innovation, well it's dated because Windows 7 wasn't out at the time. As for iLife, well we have better software it just doesn't come with the computer, but I'm sure even you can download a file. Also you can't upgrade Mac hardware so if you want a new graphics card you must buy an entirely new (continued in next comment)

nice design, they make sexy devices, but so do plenty of PC companies such as Alienware. Now to the iPhone, it looks nice, but it is a horrible MP3 player, it can't play FLAC files, it can't handle high quality headphones like Sennheiser, Grado, etc, etc. Now to different versions of the same OS... Just buy Ultimate and shut up, there's only 3 versions, not too difficult to choose. As for the Zune I hate Zunes and iPods, I'm a Cowon guy, they have the best audio (continued in next comment)

I've seen the different OS versions. Why, when I buy a high OS for 300 dollars more do I get less/different stuff than the lower OS. It seems like I'm paying more for the same exact crap. There should just be 1 version that has everything I need. No crapware/bloatware. Ultimate isn't different from PRO or Home in writing. It just has different stuff.

I'll address all of your points. First viruses, Macs get viruses too, it's just that nobody takes the time to make them since there are so few Macs in the computer market, so less targets. Just buy virus protection... Now how OS 10 is easy to use, it may be easy to use, but do they really need to dumb it down for everyone? You can do more with Windows, and if you think that it's too difficult, well then you're a little slow. Now design, I have to admit they do have (continued in next comment)

@AGsArmorWarrior Macintosh has a lot of fun stuff for power users. Ever heard of Terminal? Probably not. You can do a whole bunch of stuff, and there is stuff in the bundled apps for power users. I have played with Garageband for years, and still haven't even touched 1/4 of its features. Same as iPhoto and all of iLife. and an easier OS is nice for everybody. I doesn't mean we're dumb, it just means we want something that will work without having to do a bunch of crap to it first.

@rifall Excuse me for not giving you as much attention as you gave me, but I will tell you that the only problem I have with Mac OS X is the lack of file support. What I hate is Apple as a company. I dislike their ridiculous pricing for shitty hardware, and I dislike iPods for their lack of file support. What you say about durability may be true, but I've never gotten rid of a PC because it stopped working, I've only bought new ones, so I wouldn't say either has an advantage in that aspect.
