  • this is classic. The new stuff sucks

  • this song is far too intelligent for country

  • Bring back 90's sounding country!!!!! New stuff Sucks!!!!!

  • Can't help it. Just love Joe Diffie's voice... and the American way of Country music. I am staying in South Africa and one of my friends came from Canada with a cassette tape full of Country Music. Will always love his music...

  • So wait....all this happened because a hot lady went to the bar?

  • @8shadowfanggranz8

Pretty much, like the song said, chain of events

  • @8shadowfanggranz8 IMHO it's more like, it all happened because the married guy picked up the hot lady. It seems to come full circle that way, when the guy turns out at the end to be the police chief, who now has the mayor mad at him and he has to clean up this huge mess in the town, that only happened because he couldn't keep "it" in his pants. It all seems like random chaos but it's not, it was all caused by the cheating of that guy. IMHO, of course, I could be wrong.

  • awesome

  • Man I haven't listened to this song in ages.

  • @:53 That car obviously does not have a diferential transmission.Notice how both rear wheels are roostertailing?

  • @doughesson hey man the transmission has nothing to do with spinning both wheels, its all in the rear end whether it has an open diff or posi-trac

  • song this at the bar and people loved it lol

  • Diffie is a friggin legend. Combines country and rock like no other.

  • lol I love how the woman punches this shit out of the 2 timing cop.

  • Great amazing song...shitty TV show

  • Joe was way ahead of his time. This song could come out today and be just as great as it was back then

  • he can pull of a mullet

  • Country music just doesnt groove this good anymore.

    GO`,;TO'`;THE`''URL;,;

  • was this based off the tv show

  • @mahala2345 no... the song came out in 94... the TV show didn't start til 96... so the TV Show is based off the song

  • @jad2309 Actually no, they're both based off a nickname for Earth which has existed for decades.

  • @jad2309 And Joe Diffie got not one dime for the royalties.I remember his saying that it was like watching your mother in law drive over a cliff-in your brand new car.

  • So funny. You can love something as a kid, then go, like, 10-15 years without ever hearing it, and then one day you hear it again, and you can STILL sing along with every line perfectly. Love it!!

  • @MikeAM78 I absolutely hate country now but when I was 8 - 10 my mom made me listen to it. So I have nostalgia for mid 90s country.

  • @MikeAM78 I am not a country fan ( I am here for someone else), but that situation occured to me just last night.

When I was like nine, my dad shut off a Solid Gold (awful lip syncing show) while Kiss was on it. I just last night called up that video and got to see it all of these years later!

I loved THE ELDER from them.

    Sam

Check out BREAK ME on our site. It may be too odd for you, I don't know.

  • @MikeAM78 AMEN TO THAT!

  • @MikeAM78 Same here. Haven't listened to this song since I was like 6 and I can still sing it word for word!!!

  • I remember when this song came out...I was like 9 or so, but I loved country back then. Still listen to the greats, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dun, John Anderson, etc.

  • I love this song I used to work at Wal Mart and this song used to pep me up when we had to work at night..

  • I remember his label put a huge globe out in front of their offices on Music Row to promote this song. One night some drunk college students stole the globe and rolled it down the street.

  • @bigreed67 Roflmao I remember when that happen

  • @bigreed67 We were waiting for ticket sales to open up back in the 70s when a bunch of drunks climbed the Taco Bell across the street and while the crowd was chanting "Ring it!Ring it!" managed to roll the bell off the roof into the street. This was obviously back when the buildings had actual bells in them.

  • Best Version on YouTube.

  • Great song

  • I used to listen to this song all the time when I was a kid.

  • He's playing a Guitar with a Sun on it. The clock tower and planisphere are both outlined in pink and there's a pink tint to the trip in the stolen car. Sirens at the end when the Earth seen through a fuzzy TV not unlike the moon shots. Most excellent.

  • love this song!

    faved xD
