i have to dedicate this song to my history teacher (dedication in my own sense) he always said that when he would see me through the years that this song would play through his head because he said i was so nice and my name is what the title says....emily brown.
My grandfather didn't really have mental problems but he did commit suicide due to having and incurrable disease which left his baton arm impossible to move.
Henry Thies was my grandfather. My name is Gary R. Thies but I go by Rick. I have lots of inside history on Henry Thies and his family and the reason why he latter committed suicide at the hit of his career.
Jeez, I can still recall hearing this record for the first time about ten years ago...I about fell on the floor. Talk about "Swing is Here." Just flat-out GREAT stuff!!!
Damn - this? At the Beginning of the Great Depression, this band was really Forward looking. Can you imagine if Thies had been stable. They'd've given Casa Loma a run for their money!
On of my desert island disks. Thies had very serious mental problems that were not treatable at the time. This situation led to his demise in the late 30's, i believe. Dismuke did some interesting research on him a few years ago.
i was just telling pax41 that i didn't care much for henry thies, and here comes this....i guess i will have to change my mind..ha. delightful rendition. thanks so much.
My name is EMILY BROWN! <3
