The ichythyosaur was a little baby when vort. fleshed him in HL before the aliens and the vort. kill ichys mom so he is out to kill any thang he can find.The fish is a 199 year old alien that if you come near it it will kill you there is not more then 1 ichy in the whole hl sequence you were suposed to kill it in hl1 because it was attcking and they replaced it in hl2.in hl3 it will return more scary if theres ever hl3.

They are big as everyday cars so cathing them would be a problem also if you lean over the edge of the the pond the Ichthyosaur can jump at youout of the water and drag you to the bottom they can eat you whole.

It's only a trigger to kill the player when he is far enough but when you play Garry's Mod and you put him far into the ocean he will die in the air meaning the trigger will kill and NPC and Player but when you are losing health during the trigger they use a Ichthyosaur sound effect then they make you think that the Icky will appear but in retail they still use the same trigger but no Icky sounds.

Nope, not in the beta. In the beta version they had an invisible one that would kill anything that enters the water so that you wont reach the boundaries. They decided to replace it with sea leeches since an "invisible ichysaurus" sounded kinda like an ancient story :P

Well in mappers terms if you go too far outside the ocean it will trigger.

Then it will set off a trigger that will instantly kill the player but the Leeches do have actual models but they are never used in the game but you can see the model in Garry's Mod.

Well, actually its not an addon. It came in Half-life 2 even if it wasn't meant to be fightable by the player.

You can spawn one by opening the command console and typing in

npc_Create npc_ichthyosaur

Thats how its done. but like the description says, you might wanna spawn it in deep water otherwise it'll appear in the ground and get stuck there.

The reason valve didn't include it as an actual enemy in the game is because in half life 1, too many people couldn't pass the game as they were too afraid of the itchy. They didn't want this to happen again in HL2.
