i think celebrities back then were worth admiring. because they didnt just sing, or just act, they did everything even standup comedy. they had real talent.
the rat pack is back, baby! sort of. there's a band that is honoring the music stylings of frank, dean, sammy, etc. ck 'em owt. type cinnamon doll jazz
These guys are the definition of cool I would love to see a movie eventually be made about these guys. I look up to these guys becasue they were the first Entourage. They are as cool as cool can get
I love the Rat Pack! I'm way to young to have ever seen them live unfortunately.
If you are ever in Vegas you got to check out the Rat Pack 2. It is an awesome show (skip the lousy dinner) on the old strip. The guys look pretty close and sound almost the same as the original.
@badgerpotus No-one because you wd have to look on another planet. There is minimal talent these days. Talent these days is getting caught dui, caught doing drugs, no underwear. That is their way of getting attentiont unfortunately.
@ProudFinn1 I wish it was still around also. Nice to see men dressed in suits, acting like men. I miss the nightclub scene, well dressed, manners, no howling, rapping, just good, down to earth entertainment.
These guys were the coolest. There will never be another Frank or Dean or Sammy. Or another Rat Pack. The coolest clique ever! And Joey and Peter really rounded out the group. I love them all, but Frank and Dean are my favorites. I'm only 21, but I think they put most of today's actors/singers to shame! They were real men, with real talent. Great video, love the song!
@mendezfocus Peter Lawford was addicted to vodka and unfortunately he cd not stop drinking, therefore he died. J. Bishop, never drank and is still around. I imagine in his 80's now.
The Rat Pack were a group of popular entertainers originally centered on Humphrey Bogart. In the mid-1960s it was the name used by the press and the general public to refer to a group that called itself "the summit" or "the clan," featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin ------
They were for their time, they were what everyone wanted to be in the 50s and 60s. All in all they were a collection of hollywood stars, dean martin, frank sinatra and sammy davis jr were the core of the gruop.
They were not a group, they were a bunch of stars who hung out together and did shows in Vegas, they were the epitome of cool in their day. If you were young in the 50's and wanted to be cool, you either wanted to be Marlon Brando, Elvis or a member of the rat pack!!
if i was in the 50's I wouldnt have been able to decide between Elvis and the Rat Pack lol I love music by all of them.. Frank and dean when I wanna chill out..sammy davis when I wanna smile and elvis when I wanna rock oud :D

i was a bartender at the sands in vegas some 50 years ago and served these guys. here is the real way sinatra was a bully sammy was up sinatra' ass lawford was afraid to say the wrong thing they all made jew jokes in front of joey bishop and he laughed.
dean martin was a good man and took no shit from no one. and he was not a big drinker like thge other guys.
While all of that sounds pretty historically accurate, I'm a little disturbed that your profile says you're 55...and here you say you were a bar tender 50 years ago. Were there no child labour laws in Vegas?
I remember one time i was walking down the street and this elderly man was walking down the street with a manila envolope. He approached me and said "you know what this is?" i said "no what is it?" he then pulled out a old picture with him and the rat pack with all there autographs on it. He said he was going to go get copys.
What the blood 'ell did Elvis have that Sinatra didn't...hip thrusts?! Frank was the all time king of music, Elvis was no one compared to him! Sinatra rules :)
I saw Frank at the Broward center for the Performing Arts in 1996 and it was at the end of his career but that night the band which Frank Jr was in charge of and Ol Blue Eyes sounded as good as 1966. The Orchresta was perfect. Best I ever saw and I've seen Tony three times down here. Frank had the BEST Orchresta ever.

I enjoy the old times and the songs. I could never figure out why Elvis didnt hang with these guys? I never have recieved an answer from anyone knowing why.
