  • LOL what is this shit ?! This aint original DUNE...this is piece of shit

  • damn, that's a WEAK "long live the fighters".

In 1984 Dune, at least MacLaughlan could SCREAM pretty damn good.

  • This version is more faithful to the story, the1984 version has a vastly superior cast. i spit on DavidLynch! Point of note.

The madhi is a shia islam myth. They say that the last blood descsndant of the Prophet is in hiding and will return one day to bring Justice to the world.

  • The glowing blue eyes are distracting!

  • I like this version even though some of the characters don't look like I visualized. In Children of Dune I did NOT like that Duncan Idaho In this one Paul should have had dark hair along with Leto. etc. I especially didn't like Irulan she should have been Wensecia (I know ibutchered the name) She was suppose to be the eldest.

  • what the F*** is this?

  • This sucks ass compared to the movie

  • THIS guy is suppose to be Muad'Dib?

    Pssh, I don't think so.

  • i think that the 84 smithee version was the best thing to be offered at the time. the scifi version should have been an upgrade. instead, it became a mini-series of cut scene rejections from the westwood studios RTS games. it's a pile of shit, thus making the 84 movie look like Lawrence of Arabia. not like it really matters. even the new ones that are being worked on are going to be shit. just accept it.

  • they pronounce muad'dib different than the movie, ma-di it sounds like in this, but the movie, it sounds like muad' dib the same as it's spelled

  • @SuperHeroMania No they don't. Muad'Dib is Paul's Fremen name but The Mahdi (which is what they begin to chant after they are convinced of Paul's cause) is the prophesied Messiah figure the Fremen have been waiting for (it's a big ol' cavalcade of Prophecy on Arrakis). Continued in the next post...

  • I don't know if it's possible to make a faithful adaption of Dune. If you don't have enough budget, you sacrifice set design and costumes. If you can't afford good actors or directors, you get a B-movie. Not to mention there's so much in Dune-what do you cut out.

  • SciFI (SyFy) can't do anything right even when they actually try.

  • The David Lynch DUNE ranks in my top five worst sci-fi movies right next to The Matrix Revolutions, Minority Report, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and 2001. Overrated, over-produced, over everything. Lynch had style, yes, but no substance. This version of DUNE has its flaws but at least it's the right type of story telling. No Sting. No Toto.

  • @mjmanning123

They are gonna remake it again for the big screen in 3 or 4 parts to do the book justice, what do you think?

  • @mjmanning123 lol. 2001 is far from one of the worst sci-fi films ever made. Maybe you found it to be a bit boring or too weird or something, but that doesn't change the fact that it's considered an artistic masterpiece by most people and one of, if not the single greatest sci-fi film in history. In my opinion, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Battlefield Earth, Transformers 2, I'Robot, and Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace are all far worse than the ones you mentioned.

  • @TheAltair4

I Robot was a bad adaptation of a great book wasn't it, i agree on Transformers 2 as it blew but the first was a guilty pleasure, Plan 9 was quite hilarious, Episode 1 was disappointing when Episode III was the best of the prequels.

I am mixed on Lynch's Dune for on my love side i love it as a Lynch movie with decent if cheesy visuals, good score and good battle sides and on my dislike side as a Dune book fanboy it wasn't true to Herbert's vision and the ending was retarded

  • @Johnlindsey289 I'Robot blew the big one. I expected so much better from Alex Proyas and was greatly disappointed. Maybe i was a bit hard on Plan 9. I guess if you view it as a comedy it's a masterpiece of sorts but if you try and view it as a serious sci-fi / horror film then it really stinks.Episode III was definitely the best of the prequel trilogy and i really don't know why it gets such a bad rap. I mean, what's not to love about that epic lightsaber duel between Emperor Palpatine and Yoda?

  • For all it's flaws, this version is much closer to the book.

  • Long live Muad'dib's bladder!!!

  • The worst tyrants always come in the form of a savior.

  • @stardaugther you have no taste... this is but a feeble mockery and an attempt to make a quick buck... you should watch the old movie... now that was a movie so deep you feel part of it...

  • @JonJonAdamson

They are remaking it again for the big screen, in 3 or 4 parts to do Herbert's book justice. You'll be happy.

  • YA HYA CHAOUDA

  • Muad'Dib has the biggest bladder in the universe.

  • Why don´t you just stay with your books... Dune mini-series are great. Seen these several times. Good actors, good story, ok CGI, fantastic music....

  • @dogsoldier78 the acting of the Dune mini-series is pretty bad, as this clip shows. For all its flaws the 1984 was better.

  • What a piece of shit. Now where is that David Lynch's version?

  • The acting is so horrible here compared to the same scene from the film. This sounds like a high school shakespeare reproduction, and in the worst way.

  • I got to read the books! :D

  • "oh man, I p*ss so much it makes a river!"

Despite the makers' best efforts, the miniseries makes a joke of Dune! Every costume is awful, every scene is laughable.

At least David Lynch's Dune had style.

  • Dude playing Paul had no delivery either.

  • @xcomcmdr Lynch's had style...for the time. This is a needed upgrade to a classic that many people never knew existed. This miniseres not only got a new generation into a great film, but also made the watchers of the original remember just how great that film was.

  • @xcomcmdr

What about CHildren of Dune? better than both movies and the only great Dune movie there is worthy of being like Herbert.

They are remaking it again on the big screen in 3 or 4 parts, what do you think?

  • @xcomcmdr

Went through the spice agony. Better drink my own piss.

  • @xcomcmdr To say something... I like Lynch's version much more, but the stillsuits were, I believe, better in here, at least general concept, they were covering even the head , in Lynch's there was too much wasting of precious water for my liking. Beside this and skinhead Bene Gesserit, I have nothing to say against Lnych's version.

BTW I wonder if that spiting at 3:18 was a mistake or intentional, I hope intentional for showing respect, if a mistake, then... oh crap.

  • @Toneai2007 oh come on! The David Lynch version was retarded! Sonic weapons? Bald sisterhood? Sure, the thopters in this are shit but I feel it sticks closer to the novel in a lot of ways. At least it doesn't rain at the end of this one...and it doesn't have sting playing Feyd-Rautha ¬_¬

  • @xcomcmdr Style nothing, at least this Miniseries was F#%@% Accurate!

  • I never had the chance to see this. Every time I see an excerpt like this I regret it more and more.

  • Ya Hya Chouhada! Bi Lal Kaifa.

  • "Would you cut off your right arm and leave it bloody on the floor!?!"

    So much passion

  • I like the way at 4:13 it looks like he's taking a pee off the balcony!

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! True....true...

  • @lordtau I know eh?! XD

  • @lordtau like here is your water XD

  • @lordtau Actually start on 4:03, it makes it look like everybody is watching LOL

  • One of my favorite scenes from Frank Herbert's masterpiece of literature. Dune is my favorite novel. And always will be.

  • My favourite scene in the mini series!
