  • i don't think they claim Miao culture. they were perhaps a subdivision of the Miao culture back then but split and ended up more north.

  • well i can't idk how to put videos on i only using my brother or my sisters username so yeah

  • Hey i dont yall post that movie!

  • ok...???

  • What do u think? Can Hmong still favor to wear heavy things on neck and head to make our Hmong weaken or slow to build our things. Other people have that old styles wheather or not. I think we should keep for Meseum and dress regular like industrial countries to build things for us. Otherwise, we gonna fall behind and still share other people economics.

  • Sorry to say that. Actually, we just only wear

heavy things like that when New Year comes or

big Event. The rest we just wear regular like

other people. We dont wear to work or all day!

  • I think u mean the Huns( Xiong nu)?? The Qin drove the Huns out of China by building the First Great Wall. Later on the First Han(Chinese) Dynasty drove the Huns out of China.

  • ? I meant to say the Han Chinese, not Hun.

  • Yes, the wall still exist today. It's not as big as the Northern Wall but it exist. I believe it block Hunan from all the western provinces where the Miao settled in.

  • So Suav Tsoj meaning Suav Kingdom?

I wonder what the word "suav" mean to hmong, or it is a name for the chinese?

Also, if anyone know if "Tuj Faa, Teb Laam" has any special translate, i heard it with many beginning of hmong tales. Could it be about kindgom/land in china too? Please post more meaning of miao-hmong-chinese translated words, i want to learn them. THANKS!

  • Sorry, it should be "Ntuj Faa, Teb Laam". Thanks!

  • According to the Ch'uan Miao folktale, Suav means Counter. Remember all those folktales where the Hmong used to pay heavy taxes to the Chinese? Suav means Count. That where we got Suav from.

  • The Hmong did have a kingdom. Vaj in Chinese means King. Vaj Peb Hmoob means San Miao Kingdom. Ever heard of the words "Tuam Choj?"

it refers to the Southern Wall of China built to block the Hmong from returning to the Northeast.

  • Interesting! I heard of "Suav Tuam Choj" so I guess it must be the kingdom/land behind the great wall. Why I also heard that great wall were to prevent the Hans from attacking the Chinese, were the Han allied with the Miao too? And I once heard the Hans chased the Miao, maybe these are different periods? I hope you don't mind these Qs, i really do want to know, today i just bought an Sony HD camcorder, so that i can tape my grandpa for the records, inspired by all this, i want to know more now!

  • The Han are Suav. The Chinese today call themselves Han.

  • Tswb = Ch'u (Hmong)Tiger

    Tshoj= land/Kingdom

  • Ah, it makes sense now. China used to have lots of Tiger according to our pictorial cloths and many Chinese arts. The Chu Warring State has to be part of the Hmong History.

  • can you tell me more about the "Chu Warring State"? thanks

  • If the Miao people once had an Army...It must have been the Ch'u armed forces during the Warring States period. Qu Yuan (Choj Yeej) is from the Ch'u Kingdom.

  • what suggests this idea?

  • @HaivHmoobTsojSiab

the boat racing part, Qu Yuan is thought to be ethnic Miao, since he was from the state of Chu.

  • They call themselves descendants of Ciyou. Amen.

  • Omg, thank for sharing this clip. I got the video. This movie is about marriages, relationship and dating between ethnic groups. COOL, thank you very much.
