But I don t understand how can we catch a moment or a history when we must asking permission? The moment is now or never, i can not repeat the same situation after i have asked permission.

Where am I wrong?

i say take it. then ask them for permission.

and if they say no. delete it. but that's just me. I'm a rebel. XD

@maxus15 this might be a little late, but you dont HAVE to ask permission as long as youre not selling the image. if the image is just to have the image for yourself, you can take whatever picture you want as long as theyre in a public place. You even have the right to take their picture if they ask you not to.

@yanney33 It's not that we're required to ask permission, it's that I believe in many cases it's the right thing to do... not to take a picture when someone doesn't want us to. There are exceptions, clearly... I did not get permission from the woman in my Mona Lisa shot, but that happened rather suddenly. For me, it really comes down to respecting the people I point my camera at... that was the point I was attempting to make.

@maxus15 You are correct... see my notes above. That said, our need to capture an image does not trump someone's right to be treated civilly... I pass up pictures and lose moments in deference to people who don't want me to take their picture. There is always another great picture to be had elsewhere. That said, in public places, if I can be quick and unobtrusive, I shoot at will and it's up to someone to wave me off. Once they do, I stop.
