True Kiss fans love Ace, Paul, Peter & Gene. HOWEVER...it does suck that the newest guys pose as Ace & Peter. I prefer the original 4 over any solo effort or later versions of Kiss itself. But I also prefer later versions of Kiss where every new member had his own style to the very latest making two of its guys posers. I bet Sonic Boom would have sounded better to me if there were no Ace & Peter costumes on Eric & Tommy. They're NOT just Spaceman & Catman costumes. They're Ace & Peter costumes.

@random2d3 i was a roadie working at the telstra dome during the recording of alive 4. it was live. tommy is a superb guitarist. the only thing they did was mix the sound in the studio to give it a crispy sound. just for the record, ace never played on most of destroyer album, he was replaced by dick wagner and bob kulick. so there is a good chance ace never even played the detroit rock city solo.

Peter could hook up with some other guys that are famous like Slash.

@01artist thats the thing. die hard ace fans have it in their heads that frehleys comet was a success. it was far from it. compared to other solo acts it was a poor effort. ace was into drugs and booze quite bad in the 80's, and his guitar playing suffered because of it. ace could have been better than what he was, but like ozzy, drugs took over and now ace is ozzy osbourne on guitar

@mammo8369 I heard both versions of Hide Your Heart. The one off of Hot in the Shade and the One that Frehleys Comet did and I think that Ace's was as good as Pauls. But I do see your point. I know that he was hooked on cough syrup and booze. Plus other stuff. But at least Ace did better than Peter in the 80's. Peter's true calling is Jazz but his fans would never let him live it down.

He is s great drummer but his style has changed over the years and he can't seem to connect with his fans againat least on vinal anyways. And yes Ace's drug habbit cost him his band. Both of them. KISS and Frehleys Comet.

@01artist peter got cocky after the hit with beth. peter isnt a legendary song writer, he was lucky with 1 hit song. after beth peter always wanted a solo career. what he didnt realize is jazz artist generally perform to 30 people in cocktail bars. peter learned his lesson in the 80's and early 90's with very very low selling solo tours in tiny clubs. he had a second chance with kiss in 96 but blew it again. oh well was good while it lasted for him

@mammo8369 Peter did have an ego. He did think he was hot shit and still does. He did do a great solo record in 78 though not as good as ACE but it wasn't as bad as "All For One" was . It had some songs that would have been great in concert for KISS but they choose Tossin and Turnin Do not know why as some of the other ones were total hot and right for the times. Peter could hook up with some other guys that are famous like Slash.

artist like slash can survive as a solo artist because they are talented, peter wont survive, he never did.

@01artist there was a time when peter was hungry. alive was his peak. then after he had the hit with beth his attitude changed and he began playing up. also the drug thing started. peter was more ENTERTAINING then he was talented by that grew dull once the drugs kicked in. when eric carr came on board kiss had a new spark, one they needed.

Kiss and AC/DC are my two favorite bands and it pains me to see people fighting over who's better. What's the point? It's merely a matter of opinion and they're both great bands. I WILL agree, being that Peter Criss was always my favorite, that the Catman had the best voice in the band. Nobody came close to him vocally and he was the one that put Kiss on the map with Beth. Ok go listen to an album called "alive!" listen to "She" or "Let ME Go, Rock 'n' Roll" or "Shock Me" for some examples as to why Ace is the best there is. And don't forget to listen to some real KISS songs like "Domino" or "War MAchine" or "And On the 8th Day" before you spew more bullshit.

hey here sir. KISS is my second favorite band behind AC/DC. You cant go off on all AC/DC fans by one person saying KISS sucks compared to AC/DC. They are both gods of rock in their own reason. KISS are gods because of their makeup, awesome music, and die hard fans. AC/DC are gods by hard rockin riffs, no out of the ordinary stage things, and their die hard fans. Both of them are awesome bands, both are great live acts. Argue all you want about both bands, but it wont get you anywhere
