Van Halen2 - 38 mins of pure rock perfection. Bought it on day of release and still listening to it 20 years later. They never equalled it - probably the greatest rock album ever. So many bands today feel obliged to record 80 mins (Metallica et al) and end up boring everyone with loads of fillers, just because that's the size of a CD should listen to this gem. If any record ever proved the adage "less is more" then this one does it beautifully.

No don't deny that at all. Metallica's 'black' album is one of the greatest rock albums ever, and always will be. 'Load' has its great moments as well. But St. Anger was so bad. If it was half as short, it would still be twice as long as it should be. I have not listened to any new Metallica since.
