This is my theory, if you really want to understand what John was saying when when he was exiled to the island of Patmos, you must study the number system of the time, not today's number system. The largest number possible in the Hebrew system and Greek system (and they used alphabetic letters to represent numbers) was 999. Then knowing this, look at the bible for a clue and on how to CALCULATE 666... Because John mentions you must CALCULATE it.

Noah was in the ark for 40 days, Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days and Moses was in the wilderness for 40 years! This pattern signifies that the number 40 represents a period or trial and testing. There r other numbers in the bible which also follow patterns like this & that includes the number 666. Symbolic Numbers are used everywhere in the bible and are put there on purpose.

So where shall we look to decode the meaning of 666? Shall we use letters for numbers? If we do then we could say it refers to anyone we want, this is what people have done over the centuries.

Taw Resh Samekh Waw. Hebrew letters used as numbers to mean the high priest of the Essenes (first Xtians - Jesus was one).
SImon the Magi was the high priest (& a scribe ie. "Beast")
(Taw=400) He was also a priest (Resh=200) and an initiated Essene (Samekh=60). To show that the letters meant numbers, Waw (6) was added.

Confusion arises in trying to read Revelation, because its writer, St John (not gospel writer) wrote it both before and after the royalty in the Essenes (Jesus, a "David" or King) was recognized as being a son of God (a priest) AND a king.
So we have the second beast associated with lamb horns (a friend of Jesus, the "Lamb"). But, those who rebel against the 2nd beast are said by John to be "immune from the 2nd death" (ie, maybe bypass the judgement of God?).

That the Apostle John was writing down events shown to him while he was in the Lord's Day would seem to indicate that fulfillment of the events of the Book of Revelation have not had a start of fulfillment. They are yet future. Many today are trying to apply to "today" what is to happen in a distant future era. I believe that John is describing events after Christs 1000 reign ends and Satan ascends out of the abyss. (Rev 20:6-8) Thus the knowing of what 666 is, is not knowable by anyone today.

The 'days' depicted here are not literal days of 24 hours each. There is a difference between a 'day' according to mortal man, and a 'day' with the Almighty. A 'day' with the "Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day" the scripture tells us at 2 Peter 3:8. Yet still, a "CREATIVE" day is at least 7,000 years long! Thus, after 42,000 years (i.e. six 'days'), He (God) completed all of his 'creative' works towards our earthly planet. It is only in this sense that he 'rested'.

666 is a biblical metaphor for insanity. The Creation story lasted 7 days. Days 1-6 God made the heavens and the earth, ect. but on the 7th day He rested. Which is peculiar since He is God no rest is needed. The day of rest is refers to Man (humanity) where a time of peace and fulfillment is needed. 666 represents Mans failure to achieve that peace of mind regardless of efforts and/or intentions. An example might be an addiction. An act is performed over and over again but doesnt really satisfy.

However, I do think it is possible to apply my definition to many, if not all flaws found in human nature and society as a whole. Including coercive methods used to control ppl. When I use the word 'insane' I am referencing a state of confusion and deception. Both of which are necessary in order to produce a more compliant society.

Using Simplified Chinese characters, look up communism and you have 2 Chinese words each having 6 strokes each. Then look up Jiang Zemin, the Chinese word for Jiang is 6 strokes so put the Chinese Characters together and you have Jiang's Communism. This is only a theory sir. This is my theory, if you really want to understand what John was saying when when he was exiled to the island of Patmos, you must study the number system of the time, not today's number system. The largest number possible in the Hebrew system and Greek system (and they used alphabetic letters to represent numbers) was 999. Then knowing this, look at the bible for a clue and on how to CALCULATE 666... Because John mentions you must CALCULATE it.

Noah was in the ark for 40 days, Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days and Moses was in the wilderness for 40 years! This pattern signifies that the number 40 represents a period or trial and testing. There r other numbers in the bible which also follow patterns like this & that includes the number 666. Symbolic Numbers are used everywhere in the bible and are put there on purpose.

If you look at the actual greek that was written, the symbols that were given the numerical value of 666, is actually aramaic meaning "his name is allah". And it has this little 'x' symbol on there that looks to allude to the islamic symbol of the 2 swords crossing. We know from Rev 17 that each head of the beast is a different empire that persecuted Israel: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece, and Rome we know for sure and 1 more. Most of each of those area's are now muslim.
