I have a question about my scapular instability and Clavicle that is not in its proper place,, my scapula is not aligned with the clavicle end,, "not to be confused with an ac joint separation",the clavicle end has the joint intact, just that the scapula fell off its original position and is at an angle and I want to manupulate the scapula to put it in place,is This manipulation what I need to get? how can I get a doctor that performs pilates and scapular stabilization to do this manipulation?ty
My question is what therapeutic benefit does the patient experience from creating a gap between the acromion process and clavicle? If there is a benefit, can someone please explain the physiology behind it?
@MrEricthebilliken Depends on the reflex involvement. A/C's are a minefield of reflex influence on a standing patient. The actual gapping of the joint is physiologically irrelevaant if it produces no change. Locally if a joint is relatively hypomobile in relation to it's counterpart and to the individual, a simple gapping technique can help to breakdown adhesions from long term inflamatory responses and/or even help alleviate back pain depending on the reflex state of the organism involved.

Cool. Does SOMA focus more on wellness or is it a few lectures of this and on to the drugs?

@MrEricthebilliken I think it just loosens it up a bit if you have pain in that area which i do.

This is very good. As a non-osteopath, I can understand some things better when I go for treatment now.
