  • With 155mm USA vs 130mm Cannon of Soviet. Which one are more powerfull?

I Knew 130mm shoot farther than 155mm! and if in the real fight cannon vs Cannon USA +South Vn will lost to VC because They can shot to us but we could not reach them!!! and that are not including 122 Kashy-Usa missiles (spell) ~!! Compare with communist We (US and South VN) alsways UNDER GUN!!

  • @CharlieDoan M1954 M46 Gun-Howitzer could fire faster; 5 rpm sustained and 8 max rpm. The M114 =3-4 rpm - Not sure but seems the Soviet gun takes it - even if it was 25mm smaller if you consider the faster rpm and longer range it would theoretically deal more damage as the M46 fires 33kg x 6 rpm = you know the maths. Also depends on gunners - the North Vietnamese were pretty good gunners - read the battle of An Loc 1972 or even the Khe Sahn Siege. 1967 Con Thien was another example.

  • @CharlieDoan The only true competitor for the M1954 or the Chinese Type 59 Gun-Howitzer was the American M107/M110 180mm/203mm guns - as those self propelled guns were the only guns that had a range beyond that of the 130mm M1954/Type 59 guns but the problem as the American guns could be inaccurate and rpm was like 1 round every 2 minutes as it was a huge gun with a large charge/preparation required! The 122mm Katyusha rockets were another nasty thing - at Khe Shan '68 in particular...

  • 發射了!!

  • why said firing BATTERY??? +/- here??

Should said Firing Station..( Language so confuse here)

vietnamese said different...we don't call Firing battery! firing Stations, Firing center, Firing Position command!!!!..clearly Meaning!

  • @CharlieDoan * some armies call it the Firing Battery-the gun and the crew... emplaced in the COB or the Center of Battery, Fire direction Center- the Brain, and forward observer the eyes....

  • Great video ! Finally some serious information about the M114 ! I served in a unit of such Howitzers in the late '80s, Just a couple of years before to retreat them from the Greek Army!

  • We was told that the M114's we used were bought from the US Army after the end of the war in Korea, and I guess that it was true!

  • Please, if you have any other video or link relative to the 155mm M114's please email me! I would greatly appreciate!

  • @Gewrgio did you know Rick Kendall? hes mah dad.
