Rally is slowly dying and fast, look at the crowds back then compared to now the FIA are killing the sport. Back then rally was like a bloodsport of how fast can you go until you reach the limit before you go over the edge =(

The Quattro wasn't produced till 1991, after the '80s they made the Coupe Quattro for two years. I have one, awesome car, but still not a real Quattro. (no stock turbo)

It was cancelled because of Henri tovoinen and serge cresto's death in the lancia. And that people had been killed in a crash the previous day I think. The crowds didn't help but the fia decided with everything that happened it was too dangerous. Rallying will NEVER be the same group b was the pinnacle of rallying and will remain the most regarded rally era ever.

I think that the Group B class should start again. It brings up the ultimate competition with different manufacturers, because there are no power limits. The spectator numbers would rise up to heaven. On the other hand a few rallydrivers would rise up to heaven too...

the thing that annoys me about some people who dont know cars is that they assume the 205 was a 205 where infact it was more like an assembly of scaffold bars with a 600 bhp engine in the middle and awd , awesome bit of kit , the audi right up to the end was based on the car they actually sold , i.e front engined monocoque (spelling) chassis not space framed and mid mounted , that and the noise they made are part of the reason why when someone says group b people think audi quattro !
