Seeman merely makes his objections to the fact that Tamil gets mixed with non Tamil words, and he gives examples from colloquial Tamil. He could have given examples also from written Tamil from today's novels, media dialogues, etc. which abound in non Tamil mixing. The truth is, in the practical world, except in literature, people do not like to use pure Tamil. As bmkaruppan writes, purpose of language is communication. Hence it is futile to exhort or agitate against such mixture.

One should understand that a sanskrit is not spoken so commonly but tamil is spoken because sanskrit did not evolve as a languae.. it dint take in words form other languages.. languages like english has evolved ... thts y its the most popular languae.. tamil is still spoken on a daily basis because it has evolved.. one must realise that.. nobody today speaks in shakespearan english... the language has changed... does that mean english has died.

Strangely this is true. Every language is evolving over time. Even English has evolved from other languages like Latin and other European languages, according to historical influences. No point fighting this and no point going back in time. There are many other priorities facing us now, than trying to say that tamil is not spoken purely. Director Seeman needs to wake up to the 21st Century!. India is a versatile country able to communicate with the world and still retaining its culture. This is pseudo argument. Wakeup!

Unfortunately you miss understood..For example if you go Germany no one speaks English..they dont want to even use a single english word in Deutsch even thought thr lot similarity between english and Deutsch..that doesnt mean we r going back..we must love our language that gives integrity...we can express our thoughts effectively only by our mother tongue..i can see lot people facing difficulty by learning both uncomplete and can't catch correct word while speaking..

There are lots of borrowed words and expressions in English too. However almost all of these are from related germanic languages. I agree with you that tamil should be spoken in ites entirity. It is sad that a lot of words have been replaced by English words.

Seeman's try should be appreciated. One thing have to suggest here is it's not that easy to make entire changes immediately or that instant and there is no need in arguing about 100% ideal tamil speaking stuffs, what he tries is to safegaurd tamil language's purity
