I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Alfa DOHC Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and EFi injectors clean as new!
if anyone is interested in restoring a 2600, message me. I can get ALL spares new. i hate two of these and know the vehicles inside out. If anyone needs assistance, let me know.
hi haloagency, i will probably be looking for a clutch, i found a rudspeed plate rivited on the engine compartment with a serial number do you know what it means? many thanks frank
hi nyide, what a wonderfull maschine you got, i have just bought one today wich nead full restoaration, i will colect it probably on saturday, what have you done to your engine? it is amazing, what do you suggest me to do on mine? to get it to sound a bith like yours? how can i get more power withouth compromising reability, i had never heared one before thats why i went on you tube, and there is yours screeming away, absolutely exhilarating, please give me some tips, many thanks, frank
I just finished driving mine this afternoon and I have to tell you that this engine is one of the finest 6cyl made of the era, smooth, torquey power with lots of room to hit high mph in 5th gear. A true sleeper that screams.
I own two of these cars. The sound can be achieved with standard headers and an open exhaust. They are like a musical instrument.
It seems very slow in the video but they are actually very quick despite being extremely heavy. They also improve with the weber carbs rather than the solex.
The same engine in a lighter 105 series would actually work well, as the gearboxes match!
Look at that original suspension working.

mooi filmpje. zie je niet zo veel raceuitgevoerde dechromed 2600. Onderstel en banden zijn redelijk orginieel gebleven.

Hi Frozenbeard1234
Driving this car is pure driving fun. Not like modern cars which the car controls itself.
Keep the pure sport alive!!!
