  • @AcringtonStanley The Great Dictator is a comedy film released in October 1940. It was written, directed, produced by, and starred Charlie Chaplin. This was Chaplin's first true talking picture as well as his most commercially successful film.

    Thank you, I looked into this a bit, unknowing it was Charlie Chaplin and found it, shame nobody listened to his wisdom before WWII! Even more of a shame these same powers will probably ignore this sense and avoid the wars in future. I understand the majority of this film was a 'comedy' and this end speech left the original audience in tears (as in sad), he was a legend, did you know he entered a Charlie Chaplin lookalike contest, and he came third! Thank you from the Welsh! :)
