@ProductionsHead Good point - I never thought that maybe a Red Cross wouldn't be in Robot Town - maybe a picture of a screwdriver and wrench would've been better? Anyways, the Red Cross came with a Lego hospital set and it's always easier to use what you have on hand.
If you mean Robota's arms they are from a coupla' Space Lego sets from the 1980s.
I thought about making Robota's wheelchair motorised - but I thought it was sadder that she couldn't even afford a motorised wheelchair!
A cute story. But the fact that you made a Lego film so superb that I actually paid attention to the story and not the awesome models is an accomplishment all on its own.
I love the story, the animation...I LOEV EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. And its clever things like making he doctor look like a witch doctor that really make this what it is.
he should have got rid of those wheels, and i would think their wouldn't be an american red cross at a robot town, i wish those wheels were motorized though.
Amazing! 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999/2. Truly wonderful. Could you make a video on how to make Robota in the wheel-chair?
@HalfbrickStudios2010 what's the story? Well, It's about a robot who needs to get her legs fixed and how she goes about getting the money to do so. It's really a parody on the healthcare system. Watch it again and let me know if you get it the second time around.
I was inspired by a couple of things. First of all, this is what I always wanted to do as a kid - animate my Lego! Secondly, I wanted to make a film out of a material that I could recycle from scene to scene, so Lego was a good choice. The last reason - FOR FUN!!!!
I admire you because of your dedication to making a quality film, this is so cool!
(I myself am a "lego-mation" animator, though after seeing this, I could hardly find a reason to call myself one when I compare my animation to yours.)
If you animate, then you are an animator! Anyway, story should always come first. You can get away with being a novice animator as long as you have a solid script.
Really? Thank you! I just wrote a good solid script to finish off my series. Im going to start a new one, this time with more cinematic elements... I hope I can pull it off!
Probably the most amazing video i have and will ever see in my life, a fantastic storyline, good audio's, yeah, you got the lot! tremendously huge effort gone into this movie, Epic!
Hey, thanx a million for posting Robota on YouTube - I owe you one fer sure! If I can get your address I will send you a DVD of Robota - it has special features and stuff.
Beautiful! You captured the mood, the lighting was spectacular, the sound and especially the animation was rare for a brickfilm of this caliber. The character was likable and the dark sets were just beyond belief! Well done sir!
This film is a prime example of what can be done with heart, dedication, and alot of time animating ;) The camera work was excellent, sets were enourmous and highly detailed, alot of imagination went into the characters also. This film is much bigger scale than any other brickfilms on this site IMO. The story is simple but is presented in such a way that it needs no dialouge, just sounds and cinematography. This is 100% worth your time.
Sorry, this film isn't available as a high quality download but you can buy a DVD which includes deleted scenes, conceptual art and director's commentary from robotafilm. Youtube won't let me write the website here but it's an easy search: robotafilm.
Yep, it be mine alright. That's my name in the credits. Also check IMDB. If you wanna vote for my film so that I may win the chance to make a TV show, go to:
