  • I just took mine out and dumped the 3 cans I had in my room it's a death trap. I QUIT

  • I'm trying so hard to quit! Everytime I wanna dip alls I do is watch this video and it keeps me motivated.

  • Yall all I know is the shit obviously can kill ya

  • This is a very emotional anecdotal story, but I'm afraid that it is very misleading as to the reality of harms posed by smokeless tobacco. Please visit tobaccoharmreduction(dot)org/faq/healtheffectsofst(dot)htm for more information.

  • i watched this video 1 year ago and since then i've quit using spit tabacco and i feel much better now i'm gonne try tp run a marathon before 2012

  • I feel like for this to happen you need to dip a lot. like it would take a while for this to happen. Am I right?

  • As I watch this with a pinch of grizzly wintergreen. I've been dipping for 5 years now and it's about fucking time for me to quit.

  • so did his freind stop smoking?

  • if I dipped once a week just a small one how bad could I get in how long, and please don't reply saying ill get addicted im a strong kid just tell me my question

  • @gamingandballin

I am telling you right now as a dipper for 10 + years that it is as simple as that. You will get addicted. There is no moderation with nicotine. I am as strong willed as they come. I finally quit about a month ago and I have no plan on turning back to that crutch. In the long run nicotine just gets in your way.You are much better off without it. Trust me, it is not a habit you want to get into. You are in denial if you are looking for reasons to start using tobacco. Not cool

  • i got a fatty in right now if my jaw falls off i dont give a fuck!!!!

  • @zienocbob

Well at least people would'nt have to hear your stupid ass any longer.

  • jeez he must have dipped 24/7

  • @howtobeastitup96 or started when he was 10

  • why do people do such stupid things with tobacco just smoke pot its better the tobacco

  • WTF this is acting at its best and bad part of it is scarying these poor 5th graders. Mother fucker teach them in high school but not in mother fucking 5th grade. If that was my kid I'd beat the shit out of this man and whoever let him plant that scary shit to my kid.

  • @mandewH

This is reality. welcome to the real world. Or would you rather walk blindly the rest of your life? All this guy is teaching these kids is a valuable lesson so they don't have to learn the hard way like sean. If you did'nt notice sean was 12 when he started. One day you will understand. From the looks of it you must be anywhere from the age group of 10-12. So I am wasting my breath here.

  • why is it that everything that taste good can kill you.... : /

  • @scurlcube

Pussy tastes good. Need I say more.lol

  • Really? really? hahaha this is a joke, my dad has been chewing and smoking since fifteen and beats my mile time (im 16 and healthy)

  • Thumb up if you're dipping right now.

  • @GrizzleStrizzle425 long cut grizzly wintergreen

  • Grizz wintergreen

  • Another they would just cut the tumor not the whole thing and apparently they missed the tumor cause it takes cancer to spread cancer

  • Bull crap all my family has been doin it for years and years all died of old age or heart attack the ones who smoked died of cancer had 3/4 of a lung and died at 70 still smokin

  • well im 15 and dipping proudly i mostly hate my life so if i get half my face taken i really wouldnt give a shit

  • @delicatlydead

That is good to hear. I am also clean from nicotine going on a month now. I feel much better not having that crutch in my life. I hope you held through on your commitment. it would be 5 months now if you did so. if so good shit man. If not I wish you the best on your road to recovery.

  • this is why u brush ur teeth !!! ALOT!!!!!

  • My boyfriend chews... It's really disgusting and it makes me really sad to know that he could develop serious health issues.... Hopefully this video will shock some sense into him.

  • @aaha963 - you are very welcome and congrats for quitting!

  • n im only 15 btw

  • idk.. one can lasts me a week n a half i dont do it much but i think i should still quit

  • This makes me wanna pack a lip right now

  • @englandchuck i might be wrong but i think this kid had been dipping since he was 12. dipping doesnt automaticly mean that you WILL get cancer. but why take the chance?

  • this kid sitting nxt to me in my science decided to dip while class was still going but the teacher didn't even notice.....why do ppl do stupid things even when they know it causes cancer that easily spreads and ends up in the end killing you!?

  • I chose to quit chewing tobacco as a result of this video...thanks for posting it!

  • @javiramir7 - you are very welcome!

  • @EMERICA3DREW I know right?

  • I got a sore on my gum.. It scared me so bad. It went away after about a week and a half, but the feeling that it might be cancer and i might look like Sean was enough for me never do want it again. I will never let any type of tobacco enter my system ever again. Please don't either. Just be happy you got lucky and saw this.

    R.I.P. Sean.

  • I'm dipping now O.o i started when i became a firefighter. I love dip but i hate how its bad for me. Looks like i'm buying an e-cig lol

  • I remember watching a film about him like 4 years ago

  • I saw this during science class today and i feel really bad for that kid.

  • lol anything with tobacco is horrible. god that sory made me sad:(. just smoke weed lol

  • My dad had the exact same experience. he died when i was 3 and my older brother was 4. we grew up without a father because of this drug. so for all those saying "this wont happen to me", think again. Im now 17 yrs old and an aspiring Oncologist. Dont use tobacco.

  • @browneyedgirl2011 oncologist eh? you should look into tobacco cembranoids

  • fuck, im done.

  • this is the truth today i took my very last dip im never takin another dip again

  • All tobacco products are high risk triggers of cancer. That doesn't mean it gives you cancer directly, it means there is a risk it can awaken the cancer mutations already in your body. Also, other areas of your health is effected ALWAYS, not some of the time, but ALL the time. The Cancer Institute knows this, the FDA knows this, the rest of the government knows this... but yet the product is still allowed to be sold to the public... Why?

  • @the1observant completely false. the cancers are predominantly due to smoking. not all tobacco products are "high risk triggers of cancer" including smokeless tobacco! consider swedish snus for example, it has not shown any statistically significant association with any cancer. From European Smokeless Tobacco Council website (ESTOC)

  • @MisterNickOtine I will politely assume you are misinformed. Snus still contains TSNA's which can stimulate some form of cancer in the body, especially in the pancreas. The same website your talking about agrees with this saying, "does increase the risk of pancreatic cancer", not to mention the other effects it can have on your health. If it threatens life, then I consider it "High Risk"... But to be fair, I would agree Snus is a "reduced harm" product compared to smoking.

  • @the1observant Im well awre of TSNAs and Im not misinformed. There undoubtedly is the possibility of harm in certain situations, like in those who already have cardiovascular disease. But according to the American Heart Association's own data, smokeless tobacco doesn't lead to any significant increase in developing CD. Circulation 2010, 122:1520-1544 The study showing it increased pancreatic cancer had methodological problems nd was challenged by more recent study: PMID: 21245160.

  • @the1observant More studies need to be done, but when you look at all studies, rather than just cherry-pick like some anti-tobacco agencies do, you find that any possible risk is very slight if any. Did you know that smoking, alcohol consumption, and hpv infection (hpv16 is now the predominant causative risk for oral cancer, over smoking and alcohol!) from unprotected oral sex pose much greater risk of oral cancer than ST products? I didn't

  • @MisterNickOtine OMG, should we ban all smoking, alcohol, and sex too?... LOL... Sure, ST is a smaller risk than others, but it's most logical not to use any tobacco products at all. The concern for me is not just the tobacco itself, but the chemicals used to process the tobacco, which must remain in the final product. A clean sterile liquid product using a left-handed synthesis process and ultra-filtering is what I would go for.

  • @the1observant it's not just a smaller risk. it's a damn lot smaller risk, and no one is talking about banning anything. The ingredients for Swedish Snus are listed right on the container and they are regulated by a governement agency to set standards. I too am concerned about pesticides, additives, types of fertilizers used in some tobaccos, and certainly pharmaceutical grade products are probably better, but they also don't deliver a nicotine "kick" high enough to satisfy.

  • @MisterNickOtine I"ve been a nicotine drug user most of my life (started at age 13, I'm 42 now). My nicotine lifestyle has always been discriminated and scrutinized regardless of willingly acknowledging the dangers. I no longer handle tobacco directly anymore, but I still acquire nicotine via electronic cigarettes. I haven't touched a regular cigarette, or chew, or snuff, or snus, or gum, or stonewall tablet since October 2009. My ulcers have healed. My health has improved.

  • @MisterNickOtine Just because the risk is smaller, it doesn't make it right. The banning comment was sarcasm directed at our greedy government. The only reason why a tobacco war exists is because healthy citizens can continue paying their HI premiums and taxes longer, and help reduce Social Welfare expenses. In the meantime, the government is going to squeeze every tax penny they can out of private tobacco companies before shutting the old methods down for good.

  • @the1observant Also, You could be interested in knowing that green uncured tobacco before processing has comparable levels of TSNAs to nicotine replacement products (which I assume is extracted from fresh tobacco). That is the benchmark we could be working towards and it is my opinion that it is possible for improvement, if the case need be.

  • @the1observant You should check out Dr. Brad Rodu's blog by the way, he is a big leader in tobacco harm reduction and keeps very up to date on tobacco research.

  • lol if you join my wrestling team you will end up dipping

  • i just threw my tin away im done now

  • chewing tobacco sucks id rather stick with bud. i like the feeling alot better. it tastes mad good though.

  • They arent about to tell your mother you have cancer over the phone.

  • i had a red small lump on my tounge but it when away a little while ago thank god

  • looks like ill be up here next 1 tin away to keep the doctor away :0

  • Will I get cravings if I have only done it once?

  • im not positive if the chemicals will hook you after only one dip, but i do know that people get hooked on the buzz it gives and then once the chemicals are in your body for a while you will get to a point where you want it more and more. its really not worth it. pay money to get a buzz and a risk of cancer. FUN!!!!

  • No its not cocaine.

  • all you sad hicks think this is funny to bad you will be the ones on your death bed while the rest of the world moves right along without you

  • ya he got me some mint long cut. i tried it again today and it is startin to grow on me again. and hell ya it burned my lip.

  • my fiend gave me a can of grizzley. and i tried it today, and i dont like it. im 15 but like i dont see why people like it so much

  • try skoal citrus taste like candy

  • good thing u dont like it. people only like it, cuz people like to act tough, and redneckinsh.

  • it's hard to quit, ive stopped for a few weeks and i still get cravings.

  • yeah its really hard man it sucks i wish i never started

  • quit the dip or get the drip

  • im dipping right now, better stop.

  • @zenmaster72 haha i know i wanna take it out its scarin me..

  • i have been trying to quit for a few weeks now i havent made it more than a few days. I play college baseball so i am always around it even if i dont go buy a can. its hard

  • damn. i hate being addicting to this shit man. i don't want that to be me; i've telling myself i'd quit for over a year and a half. time to do it.

  • you can do it. just don't give up!

  • dammit. I'm trying soo hard to quit.

  • here ya bro. i havent done it in about two to three weeks, and its hell! im just 15 fucking years old. crazy how something so damaging can be so cheap to buy. :/

  • To johnpaul83

Cheap??? What stores are you shopping in you pay good Money to kill yourself. I mean Cigarettes are $ 5-6 PACK Dip $4-8 Can.

i don't find that cheap. BTW Good luck quiting :) i dipping i am a dipper & Smoker age 15 but im not ready to quit yet. so yeah there is my 2 cents :P

  • AHHHHHHHHHH. This is awful. I think I should probably stop. But I mean my dads been doing it all my life, like a roll a week or evbery 10 days and hes fine. His teeth arent even yellowing. I dont know...

  • i got a dip in now, this video doesn't scare me, what are the odds a fly nigga like me can get cancer??

  • same here

  • does the same thing happend if u take in the nose?

  • wtf?!.. i need to see a video of this..

  • According to the dentist they are. I mean they have some cavities, but people get that even when they don't chew. i Know it's not good as well as smoking isn't, but personally i think smoking is worse but that's my opinion.

  • BallisticTip270WSM, dentists are not the experts in this type of cancer. You should have your family examined by specialists and follow their advice.

  • Will do, and i appreciate your concern.

  • BallisticTip270WSM, thanks!

  • BallisticTip270WSM, you are absolutely wrong -- ask any doctor -- you should quite while you can!!!!

  • Im not saying it's not true, I meant that i guess my family is lucky.

  • BallisticTip270WSM, how do you know if they are lucky? The cancer may have already started without their knowing it.

  • I recently just quit after 2 years. Hardest thing i did. Glad i did. Friend said its harder then smoking. Manly cause theirs is 5 times more the nicotine is that true?

  • this is it i dont dip much but im gonna quit now and plus im 15 no point of even doing this early on in life

  • baseballuver94, congratulations and thank you for your comments!

  • My husband quit and all of the white patches healed up. Then he fell off the wagon and started chewing the leaf tobacco instead of the fine cut in the can. He thinks it is less harmful. I just wish he would quit now that he basically got a second chance. :(

  • EmilyAnneWhat, the leaf tobacco is just as bad. Please show him this video. We will pray for your husband. Regards...

  • 18 a vulnerable age for cancer?

  • yes.

  • what if you just do it once am i gonna get cancer from dipping copenhagen snuff??

  • Comment removed

  • akidnamedchico55, it will.

  • damn this freaked me out. its a good thing i dont dip every single day. i only do it when i work on the weekends. i feel that anything in moderation isn't bad for you.

  • bman9123, poisons and toxins in moderation?

  • over a long period of time, yes. but i dont plan on dipping past my senior year, and i'll probably do it in college at some point for golf. but im definitely not doing it religiously for my entire life. it just keeps me occupied in dull situations such as my job.

  • i am 14 years old and i dip its great but i'm scared now

  • tjrocks54, please quit asap -- you are at a vulnerable age for getting cancer!

  • come on man, at least wait until you're a little older to try things. 14 is way too young.

  • ya dip is the shit

  • iceman1632, there is nothing cool about cancer.

  • i dip and im 15 that could be me but what ever fuckit

  • DipinAllDay, please quit asap -- you are at a vulnerable age for getting cancer!

  • This video helped me quit...plain and simple.

  • libertyale, congratulations and thank you for your comments!

  • snus, not snuff. snuff tobcco is something completely different

  • now im not so sure about the science backround of this but ive heard that if you put the dip to kind of the lower side of your mouth instead of directly below your front 3 bottom teeth its healthier for you because if you put straight below you bottom 3 teeth it eats away at your gums faster than if you put it to the farther side of your mouth idk thats just how i dip

  • which is worse snuff or longcut, I mean i know they are both horrible but which is worse

  • snuff eats your gums a lot worse and gets the tobacco in faster but both do about the same thing its more personal prefference

  • My husband is going to the doctor today to be checked for cancer. He has suspicious areas where he chews. He is almost 40 and started in his teens. I hope any of you young kids reading this will consider quitting now before it is too late.

  • So is he ok, im 30 and I got some suspicious areas also. Good luck, and god bless.

  • skoal cherry is the shit

  • i went to the fair this weekend and i saw a like 12 year old smoking and her friend drinking beer and that was SAD and thay weher hanging out with this guys they where like 15 and they where making out and smoking im pretty sure they had some crack in ther pockets cuz they looked high it was very sad what has happend to this genergation its ashame -micaela age :10

  • Hi when u get ur jaw cut of like the dude write me back

  • ok i will

  • I phased out of dipping snuff. I quit Copenhagen and used Grizzlie which isn't very good. I quit Grizzlie and Copenhagen is too expensive. Then I just quit altogether. I haven't had a dip since October 6, 2008. I don't miss it, either. I dipped for 23 years. Good riddance.

  • any signs that you have dipped? Just curious since u dipped for 23 years

  • I just had a rough patch in my lip. It soon went away. However, I am still at risk of mouth cancer for a while even though I have quit.

  • Has prayer ever regrown an amputee's limb? No.

  • I know of a case where a child broke his neck, had x-rays taken in the hospital, had the pastor of the church that he is a member of come and anoint him with oil and pray; and he was healed. It amazed most of the doctors, who could only come to the conclusion that the x-rays were wrong, for they could not believe that the miracle had happened!

But, Yahhoshua (the Lord) still heals the sick daily!

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up..." (James 5:15a)

  • Chewing tobacco is a medically proven to cause cancer of the mouth and pancreas.

Sadly this kid died because of ignorance.

  • I have also heard of people getting throat cancer from swallowing the tobacco juice. Don't forget about that.

  • Another great video!

  • ECTBWHO, thank you very much!

  • I find it utterly amazing, that in all this ordeal, they didn't go to church and have his paster anoint him with oil and pray for God to heal Him. What a waste! God can do it. If we will just let Him!

"Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him." - James 5:14,15

  • teddyhcraig, They did pray. Yes, God can heal but that doesn't mean He heals everyone.

  • I didn't see anything about this person going to church, or being prayed for, in this clip; so, I guess I would have to take your word on that. Because they didn't say that, so, you must be getting your information from another source.

I wouldn't allow a bunch of doctors to carve me up. But then again I wouldn't chew snuff either. It always seemed nasty to me when I saw my father do that as a child. The spitting, the smell, everything about it made me sick!

I don't see what the attraction is.

  • That would have done nothing as medical trials have proven the 'power of prayer' does no good. In fact for those who knew they were recipients of prayers it increased their chances of complications.

    Google Templeton foundation Prayer experiment.

  • I was involved in a trial of my own, in which God healed me of a hernia in the same hour as I was anointed with oil with the prayer of faith, so that trumps all the clinical trials that you can ever quote to me. I know by personal experience that being anointed, and the prayer of faith, do just like the Bible says!

But notice, it doesn't just say prayer, because any person can pray. It says the prayer of faith. God doesn't hear those who don't pray with faith. And faith is of God and His Word!

  • Regardless of your personal faith, anecdotal accounts are not evidence of anything.

The Templeton Foundation is a Christian based religious organization, and those that conducted the prayers were Christian prayer groups, so your incredulity of this study is curious to say the least.

I wonder if the results had shown a benefit to prayer would you be as dismissive of the result?

  • The Templeton Foundation is a SCIENTIFIC organisation. They fund scientific studies.

  • The foundation has funds many research programs and annually awards

"The Templeton Prize for Progress Toward Research or Discoveries about Spiritual Realities"

Until 2001 this was know as

"The Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion"

They are not a purely scientific organisation.

  • "Progress in Religion?"

    "[N]ot purely scientific?"

You have got to be joking.

  • By the way, the Templeton study had nothing to do with what Teddy was talking about.

  • Teddy made the unsupported claims that

    a) prayer works

    b. But it only works for people of faith.

I merely pointed out the study which demonstrated this was not the case and that prayer was deemed detrimental to those who knew they were being prayed for.

And thanks for the thumbs down - it hardly seems sporting or Christian behaviour to down thumb something which is demonstrably true.

  • No, he specifically referred to being anointed with oil and prayed over by his pastor. IOW, a personal prayer with the subject present.

The Templeton study was of "remote intercessory prayer."

Your silly comment regarding the thumbs down is amusing, but it shows your lack of understanding when it comes to Christianity.

  • "The John Templeton Foundation was the major funder of the Study of the Therapeutic Effects of Intercessory Prayer"

    (JTF website)

You want to split hairs over proximity go ahead? You want to tell all those who pray on a Sunday Morning for an end to starvation in Africa they are wasting their time as Africa is not in the room?

As for thumbing - to denigrate a truthful comment is an act of false witness. Hence lying, thus you are breaking of one of the 10 commandments of Judea Christian faith.

  • "You ask, and receive not, because you ask amiss, that you may consume it upon your lusts." - James 4:3

I gave you a thumbs down because you think that just because someone prays, that it means they are praying effectively, and the scriptures (not me, the Word itself) is saying that you're wrong!

"Now we know that God is not hearing sinners: but if any man be a worshiper of God, and is doing his will, him he is hearing."; John 9:31. You have to read the whole chapter to get the context of it!

  • Ps thanks for the thumbs down - very Christian of you!

  • Are you under the misinterpretation that Christians can't give a thumbs down?

  • To do so to a truthful response would be dishonest ...... etc etc etc.

  • that was actually one of the most intelligent debates ive ever seen on youtube. but i think mattblackcat won cause everyone else did was throw religious sayings at him, and he responded appropriately.

  • I need to stop smoking
