One of the main reasons Keith Richards is still with us today is because he was always very careful about the drugs he used (only high quality from reputable dealers and never mixed). Most junkies who OD are careless and/or semi suicidal. Despite his major addictions, Artie's actually quite neurotic about his health. If he can manage to avoid an OD (or better yet quit) and lose some weight, he might have a shot at a normal lifespan
