0:24 i'm 1st degree, and i was taught that your shdn't touch ur knee when you perform that movement, because its impossible to completely crush a head flat like that, so you should leave some space between your hands and the knee.
ok im with ITF and this is a very good patern. if your with ITF you know who grand master Winager is, and im one of his students.he should honestly make a video because he is incredable
when doing the jump.. keep your hands in the position right before the kinfe-hand guarding block is executed. (hands behind you). Also, do not straighten or bring your legs together. Jump striaght up as if you were to do a sitting stance in mid-air. This keeps you balanced and symmetrical so you don't swing all over the place.
This is my favorite pattern, so i'm a bit picky, lol. Hope this helps.
I trained with GTF for 5 years and have trained with WTF now for a year, hard to say which I prefer..........very different, I continue to get in trouble for my stances with WTF.....
Ok this video is help ful in the knowlege of the red belt pattern, but yet, the person doing this does a few things wrong that are BIG mistakes. He doesnt hold his hands up he flails his arms out when he kicks, and then he has no fluid movemnt, he is to tense.
all the trash talking about TKD, and other traditional styles is pointless, true jiujitsu isn't about striking, but in a real fight wouldn't you strike? in a REAL fight, where your life, or family depended on it, wouldn't you bite? eye gouge? grab or even bite the groin if the opportunity arose? all styles have strengths and weaknesses, but the point is to better yourself, stay fit, make friends, compete, learn about culture and history
yeah tkd isnt about dropping thugs or 'fighting the best fighters' ... it's for self defense and health. and yeah there's no need to talk bs about other martial arts. just not a very nice thing to do
it's a bit much when a tagb chaps starts slagging off the itf ok here we go one he does sight his reverse side kick but its a glance he doesnt sight the back fist because he is doing a block as well so as a rule you look at who you allways look in the direction of the block i am never one to slag off any style of tkd but tagb patterns suck and they removed a pattern because it was to hard to do and as for the sine wave well i have never seen it in a tagb pattern
fuck that to test your ability hit the streets and fight some thugs and see if that shit really works if does. go into some street fighting for money to fight some of the best street fighters.
test you ability on the streets then that would make us thugs and tkd is self defence not thuggary but if a thug was to have a go then i would drop him like a sack of shit
well not full of shit if you are attacked and you fight back you are defending your self e. g self defence all so you dont need to move towards your attacker to defend your self you really need to read up on taekwondo then maybe you would not be so niave
Very good pattern. I like all of the Norway stuff on here. My only little criticism is that he doesn't look where he is executing his reverse side kick or his back fist. I'm TAGB and we're told to sight all of our techniques but I've noticed a lot of people don't (particularly ITF).
its great to see these videos available as a guide for ITF students, and the theory texts for the TUl's origins are a nice bonus. the execution of the forms is rather rigid though..

What is GTF? Deam the whole taekwon-do falls from eatch other..
I mean that taekwon-do istn one any more.. becaus some people sell 'tkd' ass a 'martial art' or 'self defense' to make profit of it..

I wasn't slagging off the pattern, I was just making a comment in the "comments" section. And yes, you're right, TAGB doesn't use sinewave.
By the way, to say you never slag off patterns and then to say TAGB patterns suck is a total contradiction.
You're entitled to your opinion and me to mine. You shouldn't attack people stating their opinion constructively, as I believe I was.
