@zipfreer If you are talking about christianity and the bible, that is one source of information and knowledge. But if you are talking about truth that is very subjective. You mentioned the bible, but which one is true? There are at least 60 out there. Some are similar but others widely vary in their interpretation. And all don't have the same content. Truth comes in many forms. Absolute truth is only obtained from many lifetimes, much experience, and connecting and becoming one with the source.

from what I've seen, these spirits of passed loved ones and so called "spirit-guides" are just low level entities whom don't even have a cosmic celestial rank of any kind or significance. At best they can only give you guidance and advice into the affairs of the secular world as well as some insight of the things they see as a spirit within their levels(which is quite low). There are many religions and spiritual practices that recognize that spirits are all around us and welcome that reality. It has been that way since the beginning of time as well as to the present. Sometimes when we meditate and receive messages from spirit we put our own feelings in as well. It is your mother and no matter what kind of relationship you had with her in this world, it will be much different now as she is in a place of healing and enlightenment. If your relationship was tumultous, then there is a lot of healing to be done between the two of you. If it was loving then there is nothing to be afraid of. In either case you should connect and help each other in your grief.

But it is all about change and becoming a better person. It is about opening your heart and helping others in life. In this way we grow as a being. That is soooo cool!! Yes, they can show themselves in physical ways. Often it may be in other ways such as symbolic, through dreams, waking up at 1:11 or 2:22 etc. You may have "wierd" things happen that seem coincidental after you consciously make contact, but it is all about behind the scenes that they are working and helping you out, trying to show you they are there without scaring you. It certainly was someone trying to get your attention. Connection to the other side can start off slowly, giving you experiences that will not frighten you, just let you know they are there. Then when the deeper connections come, it will not be too much of a surprise. You will be ready for it. There are some religions that believe connecting to other states of vibrational reality can bring in bad or evil spirits. We draw to us similar energies. If we are dark, brooding, always wishing others ill, or trying to create abundance for ourselves through the misfortune of others, there may be those types of spirits around us. Tipis are a very inexpensive way to create your own space. We put everything together for about a thousand dollars but it can be done much more inexpensively with a smaller tipi. We are now building a Yurt for our office and classroom and it is another alternative living option that is pretty awesome.

Often times, especially in the beginning, our spirit guides may actually sound like ourselves talking to ourselves. So it can take some practice figuring out what is what. But understanding will come from drawing on your intuitive senses. The answers may come as whispers, as if they are standing right next to you. And often they are. There can be dual answering at one time. So it is important to quiet the mind to discern all the information that will be flowing to you.

Often times our guides are animals. They are very powerful guides. The animal world can help us in many ways. Often we have many animal and human guides that come in and out of our lives as needed. Our spirit guides can change over time, depending on the circumstances and what we need or are asking for.
