so he doesn't mind being discriminative, even though he is of a race that was discriminated against before. A lot of bigotry. One would think that he would understand acceptance as JESUS CHRIST was accepting of all people. Jesus didn't hang out with the "faithful" or God loving people, but he was with the lame and destitute, the sick and the lost. I am extremely disappointed in this man and sad that he is giving all Christians, including myself, a bad name.
You should be ashamed of yourself. Pastor Harry Jackson has helped the poor, gay and straight. He is a true friend who will love you enough to tell and show you if you are wrong. That's who Jesus is too ...he died so you might turn from sin and trust in him, not embrace sin.
I always get a laugh out of blacks who side with white conservatives on issues like gay marriage. As a gay man....if I purchased a home in a white conservative neighborhood, the neighbors would bake me a cake. If a black family moved in, the same neighbors would put their house up for sale.
I think it's real funny how many haters there are out there... SMH! If he as a man really bothers you(ill speaking people), why do you even bother to watch/ follow him on his walk in rightiousness?!?!? Keep in mind YOU searched for his name/channel on youtube/ google *wink* Just a though...
lamexicana32, he as a man bothers me BECAUSE he has followers that believe his walk to be righteous. People need to see through the lies of people like Mr. Jackson. After all, how can we trust someone who, through his own beliefs, believed his own race should have remained enslaved.
I ask you - in an evolved society, is THAT the kind of person we should be listening?
That's fine Nekki, it's your personal opinion just like many others; But my thing is like always & w/ anything/anyone, if it bothers you so much & you really not kewl w/ what he stands for or is about as a person, then why continue to "follow" him? & even though he comes out with the word & is always preaching about what he believes is right, his real argument is for the right 2 let folks vote, instead of letting 13 people decide what they believe ALL of the community "needs/wants", ya dig?!
I just really think people should get 2 know Mr. Jackson, and see if for themselves he is really not what so many claim him to be! There is so much made up trash about him to discredit him as a person, his family & church. So I say to you, go out and seek the real truth in person, you'd be surprised with what you find *wink*
Well, lamexicana, I've never actually "followed" the man - I stumbled across one of his videos and did a little bit of background to determine what he was actually about. I mean, by your definition, we should only view things that we agree with, and every comments page on youtube should be a bunch of people saying "I concur."
The right to let folks vote is understandable, but faulty in this context. As a republic, we are structured to protect the minority from the majority. When it comes to
(cont'd) the rights of a group, it is irresponsible to leave the decision up to the general public. I mean, by that logic, we could put to a vote the right to deny rights to registered republicans, or democrats. Whoever there are more of can exert tyranny over the others. You see what I'm getting at here?
Also, I think it's particularly wrong that a BLACK MAN would speak out so passionately AGAINST equality. Does he have no handle on what his own race has gone through in this country?
NO, what I was sayin was that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but for the most part if you read some of these remarks all it states is anger and hate for a person. There is no real justification for what they are doing, u see what I'm sayin'? IMO I just think that folks like 2 make remarks on assumptions, because people don't take the time to really research what they "claim" 2 know, ya dig? & end up making ignorant statements just because he said something they didn't agree with.
(con'd) I do see your POV though... But you have 2 realize that we live in a democratic country & that's the way it is done, Majority rules no matter what *shrugs* sucks sometimes but it's what we have 2 deal with.
He dosen't speak out against equality, he speaks out on what is regulated by the word of GOD to mankind, this has nothing to do w/ his race. & on the realz IDK why folks like to compare the 2!?
Sorry.....but your kinda wrong. The majority doesn't always rule. Say for example, in the case if civil rights for blacks. If a proposition 8 type vote went before the residents of Mississippi, after integration, what do you think the result would have been?
Again the comparison of "race" with someones "sexual choice" is just crazy! You can't deny folks because of the color they were born into... they can't change that, it's not something taught or learned, it's not an option, ya get what I'm sayin'!?
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion - this is true. Two things about that, though: a.) this makes me free to call this guy an idiot all I want, and b.) if I were on the television railing against rights for some minority - let's say blacks - would there not be loads of people on my ass calling ME an idiot? It reeks of hypocrisy, because people rationalize the hatred of one minority, while hatred of another is simply inexcusable, and ignorant. Ridiculous double standard there...
(cont'd) As for the majority rule thing, it seems like clubindiana4 has beaten me to the punch. His posts lay out quite logically why majority rule isn't always, nor should it be, the case.
And as for your point on "equality".... well, I dunno what to tell you. You can dig up Old Testament doctrine and word it so it conveniently supports slavery, too - which is exactly why slavery happened here. He's not speaking about the word of God - he's speaking about the hateful word of man.
As you correctly put it "word it"... you see it's the manipulation of what's really there that people continously do that cause chaos *wink* If folks really try not makin judgement on what is said before they listen to what he's sayin they would see that he is NOT a man of HATE. There are a lot of people that get offended off of things before they have a true understanding of what the person is really tryin' to deliver...
(con'd) And how do you find Clubindiana4's quote logical? He just proved that gays have more of an acceptance in this world then colored folks do w/ that analyzation & also contradicted himself at the same breath, by showing that race and sexual preference are 2 different subjects in their entirety :-/
The only reason that they are two different subjects to you is because it is inconvienent to accept the fact that you, as a mexicana, are an even more hated minority than I am. If you'd like, I'd be happy to pull out some bible verse and clinical studies to support my position......if it would make you feel like less of a spic.
U see the hatred u just spewed?? What does callin' me a "Spic" get u? It doesn't bother me that U can't stand folks of color, that's something u(& other racists) have to deal w/ internally *shrugs* I'm very comfortable where I stand chico, whether I'm loved or hated by racists does me no nevermind, TRUST!
(con'd)Just know that I don't hate u for what u do(it doesn't bother me), because I don't care what ur sexual preference is, that's ur life choice. Just know that manipulating the word of GOD to justify ur lifestyle won't work w/ me, because I'm not the one that will judge you in the end, ya dig?
I am curious to see what you come up with though, so yeah I'll bite...Quote away Clubindiana4. ;-)
And I don't hate you....I'm just using an example. But your a liar when you say you don't hate me.......even if you step on my neck with a smile on your face and a kind work falling out of your mouth....its still hate based bigotry. Who's the one squating on a gay rights blog, supporting bigotry?.....Is that me or you?
And just know that chosing to believe in an invisible monster/god and his earthly zoombie son is your life CHOICE.
Deuteronomy 7:3 - "Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son." This and other verse were used until just a few decades ago to prevent whites from legal marriage with Mexicans just like you.
TRUST me when I tell you that what I say is my what I mean, I truly do not hate you nor what you choose to do(sexually), because it has no ill effect towards me. It does go against what I believe in, but you were born w/ choices just like me, your my brother in his eyes so I would treat you as I would my own blood, that's just me though *shrugs*
IDK what you mean by this "squating"?!? I was just simply making a statement on a simple observation and it just ended up into a debate. :-/
(con'd) As far as your choice of words for our creator I'll just take into consideration that you are upset/mad about something and he's the only one that you can blame, which is ok, because he died knowing that he would have to save us from our sins one day (your not the only "Judas" he had to cross paths with) *wink* I'll keep you in my prayers so that he can help reveal the truth to you one day, it's never too late with him!
(con'd) {quick break down}as far as your quote goes... if you were to read the chapter from begining to end you would see that he was talkin' about how "those people" chose to idol another GOD, which he forbade because there is only 1 TRUE GOD... and because they clearly disobeyed, he told those that chose to obey to stay clear and continue on the path he orig. paved.
This is hard for you to truly understand "correctly" since your ability has been obscured by so many things.
And what evidence do you offer to support your HATEFUL ahlegation that I am unable to "correctly" understand biblical verse? Or is this just another amaturish attempt to divert attention from the fact that you are unable to refute me? I am free to interpret biblical verse in a way that supports my motive.......just like the Christian community. For example..the majority of bilical verse used to condemn gays is actually directed at the common "biblical times" practice of temple prostitution(con)
and not at the modern gay community. Other verse states that it is a sin for a man to lie with a man as he lies with a woman.......this inferrs that the man has been with a woman......in biblical times a man who is having sex with a woman would have been married, so of course it would then be a sin. The fact is.....no biblical verse addresses modern monogomous gay relationships. And no....I'm not angry....I would prolly believe in green martians before believing in god.
You clearly are angry... it shows by the way you choose to word your speculation. And yes your right you R able to interpret/manipulate the word as you wish, but it still doesn't make it right. It's just funny how you keep on tryin to justify your choice when I never accosted you about it...
(con'd) & on the realz it is obvious that this subject is irrefutable when it comes to dealing with someone with your mindset... I acknowledge this as I let you be & may GOD have mercy for you and the blasphemies you released!
I see the brainless obama zombies finally got their koolaid fix from a month ago. where are they now to ridicule Bishop Jackson? did their communist steak house coupons expire after the national reserve was hijacked by their satanic usurper tin god obasterd? maybe they are still waiting in line at the free health clinics for a month on that free aspirin.
face it, obama is and has been exposed for the slut puppet he is. Bishop Jackson has the balls to speak the truth.
Go on and talk that talk and try to make yourself sound important, preacher-bruh. All you really do is make yourself out to be a hypocrite. You ain't been workin' on nothin' but other people's nerves.
Anyone who conceives of this debate as religious warfare and deputizes people to stand up and fight against it is spreading hate. He spoke about a violent rage welling up inside of him as the city council passed the bill. So the violence of the style and violence of the content makes this hate speech.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This is so wonderful! I stand with Bishop Harry Jackson no matter what you choose to call us. That's right Biblically Courageous! Stand having done all to stand continue to STAND!
Looks like millionaire preacher-man committed voter fraud to push his hatemongering agenda & is being investigated by the DC elections dept. for lying about his residency. Another law-breaking piece of right-wing Christian trash.
You seen the update on that? His name was cleared, looks like he wasn't lyin to begin with...hummmmmm
Not only does he have a house in DC, but he also has a church there too!! Seems like folks are out to smear & discredit his name/ life work all because he doesn't agree with that lifestyle and chooses to exercise his right to speak out about it. I think that's a lil unconstitutional, do you?
"In the name of the greatest people that have ever trod this earth, I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say [traditional marriage] now, [traditional marriage] tomorrow, [traditional marriage] forever."
I believe that religion background has nothing to do with it... How many others who aren't of Christian background walk around w/ a chip on their shoulder? Just something to ponder on *wink*
Just as an example.....what if California put forth a new proposition on the 2010 ballot proposing to deport all the Mexicans. If it were the same bright white neo-cons stepping on your neck( this year) I wonder how you would feel.......
Ummm incase you haven't noticed they are tryin to do that(in a sense). Ex: Starting with the deportation of all the alleged "illegal immigrants", now out of all the Illegals in this country (from all parts of the world) how many have they discarded that WEREN'T Mexican!? & how about I (as an American) get messed w/ just because I derive from that nationality. So yeah I know what it's like to be discriminated against...
(con'd) with all that being said it's still not the same issue at hand. & what's up with the "bright, white neo-cons" statement? People from all kinds of nationalities are speaking against gay marriage, not just one group/gender... So how does your ex. equate to the current issue?
Gay marriage is really a moot point.....its going to happen. 20% support ten yrs ago, 47% support today. Maybee not this year, maybee not next year....but, it will happen.....the numbers don't lie. It equates because the bright white neo-cons are just using you. Once this is a dead issue, what if deporting Mexicans is the next "moral superiority" talking point. No homosexual is asking to walk down the isle in your church.......this issue doesn't infringe on your beliefs.
That's truly something only time will tell... Until then folks all over will continue to fight for what they believe in *shrugs* And there is no IF, it's happening as we speak...
As far as "the asking to walk down the isle" comment, well if it's not an issue now it will be if the bill is passed, IMO. Remember they are fighting to have all the same rights as heterosexuals... so you shouldn't assume *wink*
Even if the bill is passed it won't be an issue.....any church is free to refuse to marry anyone with different beliefs. Freedom of religion is protected by the constitution.
Yeah, one would think...(the bill is askin for FULL equality, they want all the benefits not partial)
What religion u know states that being married with someone of the same sex is ok!? None that I know of... but then again, I don't know of all religion beliefs so... :-/ Oh well, come Dec. we should all know the outcome...
Why does it even matter what any religous group thinks? They are asking for legal recognition, not religous recognition. I'm still confused on that one......If I'm not a member of your church, then why it it your business who I marry?
LMAO... are you serious? Umm probably cause the "religious" folks pay taxes too(and have a right to vote, beliefs or no beliefs we still obide by the same constitution, dude)!! Or what you think that they get the luxury to live tax free?
AND if you ask, some of them would tell you that they want both, not just one... it's not I who cares, it's them/you who want to be recognized as a married couple instead of a life partner... *shrugs*
Do you pay for your "rights" with a tax payment? Please quote the part of the costitution that entitles hetrosexuals to civil marriage benefits.......I'm having trouble finding it.
I was making two different statements, 1) Being religious doesn't stop folks rights, which means that they are able to vote & speak out. 2) All US citizens that work pay taxes.
"Please quote the part of the costitution that entitles hetrosexuals to civil marriage benefits"
IDK what/where your tryin to go with this... I didn't even speak on this in this manner.
I really really can't stand people pretending to know anything about god or its will. The hight of narcicistic self glorifying arrogance... "holy" men are all a bunch of clowns and those who follow them are even lower.
"I think god will"... you lost all credibility right there.
The fundamental right behind these is the right to privacy. You have the right to be wedded in holy matrimony to a partner (or partners), and no one has the right to stick his nose in where it doesn't belong and say "No!" It's what this country was founded on.
How is gay marriage forcing your choices on the public? I'm sorry (not really), but it seems that forcing your choice to believe religious dogma on other people is immoral. Gays don't want anything special, they just want to engage in the same union that straight people have been bastardizing for millennia.
Why not just leave them alone? How is your life affected by gays marrying? Stop forcing your choice to believe gay marriage is wrong on others. This wouldn't be an issue if you'd shut up.
Bunch of control freaks. Is it really THAT important that they deny marriage freedom to gays and lesbians? And continue to promulgate myths like "homosexuality is a choice" or bash gays in general and inhibit progress. Marriage is not YOUR monopoly! Gays have every right to get married. Polygamists (esp. those who don't even have kids) have the right to marry. People have the right to marry their relatives, as sick as it may sound, if it's consensual, and they use protection and such.
Gay "FASCISTS" are the CONTROL FREAKS. FORCING "ILLEGALLY" to THREATEN AMERICA into folding and OBEYING a NUT TYRRANICAL practice such as homosexuality and FORCING it to be TAUGHT in schools and to be FORCED/(RAPING) on the public and threatening our well being and very EXISTANCE! The Declaration of Independence ORDERS us to STOP YOU AND OVERTHROW YOU...read it, retard!
Yeah.. one, that doesn't exist except the part about mentioning in schools the fact that some people are attracted to members of the same sex. What's the issue.. And the Declaration of Independence doesn't say that, and the Bill of Rights ensures protection of the minority from the tyranny of the majority. You don't have to approve of homosexuality, but you have no right to use the government to force gays into lesser status. Those documents state that your rights end where gays' begin.
Anytime you hear someone speak like this, youtubers, just imagine that their voice sounds like the Doberman with the broken collar in the movie UP, and then see if you can take it seriously.
What a bunch of douchebags. Do ya think Jesus gives TWO SHITS if gays get married? That's like number 50 on his list of important issues. These people are just being Jews in disguise with all this ultraconservative bullcrap. The OT god was VERY conservative, but Jesus was NOT. And I don't consider Paul a good source, even if Jesus and God really did exist. I mean, Paul was a bigoted sexist fuck. And why would Jesus need some extra "prophet" long after he already said what was needed?
This guy isn't a right winger. There are a whole lotta left wingers who are bigoted. It's not a one wing thing. Don't label everyone who does something bad as "right wing".
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
That's not in Christians' agenda. Get your FACTS STRAIGHT, you faggots! That's MUSLIMS and GAYS who do the beheadings and terrorism. Christians LOVE LIFE and want to protect OUR CHILDREN from YOU PERVERTS!!!
Name one gay person who's beheaded anyone. Last time I checked, it was Christians who tossed millions of Christians and thousands of gays and disabled people into the gas chambers in Nazi Germany. They were following their religious duty as they saw it.
You KNOW when I read OPINIONS that others WRITE I find it very PERSUASIVAE when people CAPITALIZE randomly LIKE they have some TYPING version of TOURETEE'S SYNDROME.
30 years from now you and most of the rest of your ilk will be embarrassed by the bile you're spill out today. I guarrantee it.

Marriage isn't just a religious thing anymore. Religion should stay out of government decisions. Congress should repeal DOMA.

Go on and talk that talk and try to make yourself sound important, preacher-bruh. All you really do is make yourself out to be a hypocrite. You ain't been workin' on nothin' but other people's nerves.

This is hate speech. There's nothing christian about this.
drpeaches1979 2 years ago
Certainly you may not dig his style, but how exactly is this 'Hate Speech'?
You're not very convincing.
Gasman2285 2 years ago
Anyone who conceives of this debate as religious warfare and deputizes people to stand up and fight against it is spreading hate. He spoke about a violent rage welling up inside of him as the city council passed the bill. So the violence of the style and violence of the content makes this hate speech.

This bishop reminds me of George Wallace:
"In the name of the greatest people that have ever trod this earth, I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say [traditional marriage] now, [traditional marriage] tomorrow, [traditional marriage] forever."

Just as an example.....what if California put forth a new proposition on the 2010 ballot proposing to deport all the Mexicans. If it were the same bright white neo-cons stepping on your neck( this year) I wonder how you would feel.......
clubindiana4 2 years ago
Ummm incase you haven't noticed they are tryin to do that(in a sense). Ex: Starting with the deportation of all the alleged "illegal immigrants", now out of all the Illegals in this country (from all parts of the world) how many have they discarded that WEREN'T Mexican!? & how about I (as an American) get messed w/ just because I derive from that nationality. So yeah I know what it's like to be discriminated against...
lamexicana32 2 years ago
(con'd) with all that being said it's still not the same issue at hand. & what's up with the "bright, white neo-cons" statement? People from all kinds of nationalities are speaking against gay marriage, not just one group/gender... So how does your ex. equate to the current issue?
lamexicana32 2 years ago
Gay marriage is really a moot point.....its going to happen. 20% support ten yrs ago, 47% support today. Maybee not this year, maybee not next year....but, it will happen.....the numbers don't lie. It equates because the bright white neo-cons are just using you. Once this is a dead issue, what if deporting Mexicans is the next "moral superiority" talking point. No homosexual is asking to walk down the isle in your church.......this issue doesn't infringe on your beliefs.
clubindiana4 2 years ago
That's truly something only time will tell... Until then folks all over will continue to fight for what they believe in *shrugs* And there is no IF, it's happening as we speak...
As far as "the asking to walk down the isle" comment, well if it's not an issue now it will be if the bill is passed, IMO. Remember they are fighting to have all the same rights as heterosexuals... so you shouldn't assume *wink*
lamexicana32 2 years ago
Even if the bill is passed it won't be an issue.....any church is free to refuse to marry anyone with different beliefs. Freedom of religion is protected by the constitution.
clubindiana4 2 years ago
Yeah, one would think...(the bill is askin for FULL equality, they want all the benefits not partial)
What religion u know states that being married with someone of the same sex is ok!? None that I know of... but then again, I don't know of all religion beliefs so... :-/ Oh well, come Dec. we should all know the outcome...
lamexicana32 2 years ago
Why does it even matter what any religous group thinks? They are asking for legal recognition, not religous recognition. I'm still confused on that one......If I'm not a member of your church, then why it it your business who I marry?
clubindiana4 2 years ago
LMAO... are you serious? Umm probably cause the "religious" folks pay taxes too(and have a right to vote, beliefs or no beliefs we still obide by the same constitution, dude)!! Or what you think that they get the luxury to live tax free?
AND if you ask, some of them would tell you that they want both, not just one... it's not I who cares, it's them/you who want to be recognized as a married couple instead of a life partner... *shrugs*
lamexicana32 2 years ago
Do you pay for your "rights" with a tax payment? Please quote the part of the costitution that entitles hetrosexuals to civil marriage benefits.......I'm having trouble finding it.
clubindiana4 2 years ago
Oh wow... you serious too... SMH!

The fundamental right behind these is the right to privacy. You have the right to be wedded in holy matrimony to a partner (or partners), and no one has the right to stick his nose in where it doesn't belong and say "No!" It's what this country was founded on.
whoo689 2 years ago
No, a RIGHT is not a CHOICE. A RIGHT to PRIVACY has nothing to do with FORCING YOUR CHOICES ON THE PUBLIC. Stop. Seriously. Stop....
divine137 2 years ago
How is gay marriage forcing your choices on the public? I'm sorry (not really), but it seems that forcing your choice to believe religious dogma on other people is immoral. Gays don't want anything special, they just want to engage in the same union that straight people have been bastardizing for millennia.
Why not just leave them alone? How is your life affected by gays marrying? Stop forcing your choice to believe gay marriage is wrong on others. This wouldn't be an issue if you'd shut up.
AshillaBeige 2 years ago
Bunch of control freaks. Is it really THAT important that they deny marriage freedom to gays and lesbians? And continue to promulgate myths like "homosexuality is a choice" or bash gays in general and inhibit progress. Marriage is not YOUR monopoly! Gays have every right to get married. Polygamists (esp. those who don't even have kids) have the right to marry. People have the right to marry their relatives, as sick as it may sound, if it's consensual, and they use protection and such.
whoo689 2 years ago
Gay "FASCISTS" are the CONTROL FREAKS. FORCING "ILLEGALLY" to THREATEN AMERICA into folding and OBEYING a NUT TYRRANICAL practice such as homosexuality and FORCING it to be TAUGHT in schools and to be FORCED/(RAPING) on the public and threatening our well being and very EXISTANCE! The Declaration of Independence ORDERS us to STOP YOU AND OVERTHROW YOU...read it, retard!
divine137 2 years ago
Yeah.. one, that doesn't exist except the part about mentioning in schools the fact that some people are attracted to members of the same sex.
AshillaBeige 2 years ago
Heaven forbid we force the teaching of tolerance in school.
How in the hell does what gender a person wants to marry effect our existence?
Could you show where the Declaration of Independence states anti-gay orders?

What a bunch of douchebags. Do ya think Jesus gives TWO SHITS if gays get married? That's like number 50 on his list of important issues. These people are just being Jews in disguise with all this ultraconservative bullcrap. The OT god was VERY conservative, but Jesus was NOT. And I don't consider Paul a good source, even if Jesus and God really did exist. I mean, Paul was a bigoted sexist fuck. And why would Jesus need some extra "prophet" long after he already said what was needed?
whoo689 2 years ago
He does not appoint people to speak up for Jesus. He is appointing people to speak up for their insecurities, their fears, their hatred.

Name one gay person who's beheaded anyone. Last time I checked, it was Christians who tossed millions of Christians and thousands of gays and disabled people into the gas chambers in Nazi Germany. They were following their religious duty as they saw it.
