  • Big Shiny Tunes: Part the First.

    Nice

  • I'm a young trucker who's listend to Beck for many years, I'm actuall a second generation trucker, and MAN I LOVE THIS TRACK, as well as the entire "ODELAY" album, if you don't have this album, vote with you wallet and go out and buy it new in stores TODAY! Thanks, "The Chromosome Cowboy". Keep the rubber side down! And watch out for them bears out there, let them go hungry tonight.

  • no one does weird fucked up lyrics like beck

  • ya gotta listen to this with headphones

  • @userboy6 I am.

  • Thanks for uploading all these songs 'multivitamins4all'...I remember loving this album when it came out, I'm actually just a bit surprised how good it still sounds now. It really stands out as completely unique and refreshing, maybe even more so now than back then... quite telling about the current state of music I guess... (or at least my perception of it!) :\

  • 1996 was another great year in music in the 90's. (Except Hanson.) I think in '97 it started to slip a little and by 1999 it was complete shit! :) I loved 1996 and years prior.

  • @LedWilde

the soft bulletin was released in 1999... same with summerteeth

  • Remember the powerful Beastie Boys and the amazing Black Sabbath from ozzy times. :)

  • quit talkin about the album jackstack. this song rules.

  • 2.10 --> i need that sample so hard. where is it from?

  • playaeyez17 is an oldfag

  • haha love beck master mind of music!!

  • Keep on talking like a novacane hurricane Low static on the poor man's short-wave Stampede's got to dismantle Code-red: what's your handle Mission incredible undercover convoy Full-tilt chromosome cowboy X-ray search and destroy Smoke stack black top novacane boy Got so low your mom won't drum Getting late with the suicide beat Test-tube, still-born and dazed Chump scum plays in the razor's haze Got the momentum radioactive Lowdown!
  • mUSIC WON'T REACH THIS QUALITY EVR AGAIN DON'T EVEN EXPACT ANY MORE ALBUMS OR CLASSIC REALSES NOT THIS MONTH NOT NEXT MONTH iT'S SAD BUT it's over(unless you dig but nobody is gonna really know about It but that small crowd).Sad decade all anyone cares about is thier snazzy radio auto-tune replay song on thier iphone.God create the 90's again! or any decade other than now. Music today sucks.you're favorite artist suck!.. i'm flat out calling It!. NAME ME 1 CD FORNT TO BACK "NEW" GROUNDBREAKING?

  • @playaeyez17 dude grow up so what if good music isnt as mainstream anymore there are plent of great artists out there im tired of people who just bash music in the 2000s wholesale i mean its pathetic look at this shit you wrote like a four paragraphs all caps rant on this shit, let it go,i know there just youtube comments but your arguments seem pretty underdeveloped, lets compare interpol to joy division and "radiohead best album was okay computer" what a fuckiing revelation

  • @playaeyez17 Man Man "Rabbit Habbits" (2008) Of Montreal "skeletal lamping" (2008) Ratatat "LP3" (2008). I don't know why all these are 2008, i guess it was just a great year for music, anyway, there's tons of good new original music from our times that isn't even that underground at all. turn your brain on

  • even If some of you younegr kids were to mention some of your best standouts from 00's like maybe.. arcade fire, or even Interpol's "Turn On The Bright Lights" in 2002 (I'll give you that It was great album for this generation BUT)... all Interpol did thier for instance was TRY to imitate 1 of the greatest albums in HISTORY which was obviously Joy Division's "Closer" and IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE!..THATS! arguably the best album of the 80's.evn factoring in metallicas master of puppet get the picture?

  • MATTER OF FACT WOODSTOCK 94 & 99 KIDS WERE HAVING SEX IN THE MUD! PLUS THE MUSIC WAS STILL 90'S GOOD (ABOUT NEAR DYING AT THAT POINT THOUGH 99 WAS IT!... IMO IT WAS PROBABLY OFFICAL THAT MUSIC WAS GOING DOWNHILL AFTER 03). Radiohead said what more do you want afetr OK computer!... did the best they could with matching that on KID A... but by and large for rock thats all she wrote for "revolutionary rock albums.(and that wasn't the very best 1 of the 90's MBV's "Loveless" is imo)

  • As a fan of all REAL "ARTISTS" living in Seattle Wa! between 1991-1995 I can't tel you how INSANELY GOOD LIFE WAS LIVING HERE WE HAD CLASSICS LIKE THIS.EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!, WE SPILLED OUR PART WITH "GRUNGE" HECK EVERY! CITY IN THE USA HAD THIER INSTA CLASSIC ALBUMS COMING OUT.. EVRY SUMMER WAS BLISS!.. EVERY ALBUM GEFFEN REALESED.. EVERY TIME THIER WAS A FAIR OR FESTIVAL IT WAS "MELLOW GOLD" SO TO SPEAK (of any kind) EVEN THE INFERIOR WOODSTOCK 1994 MADE ME JEALOUS I WASN'T THERE IT WAS CRAZY!

  • Itz so confusing. So many people triedz to kill me.

  • queers an fags hurt our general spunk boy wheels pills the deals words an phan'toms

  • I drink my coffee with a hubcap!

    ...

    YEAH!

  • Does anybody know wether the part from 3:44 to the end is sampled and who is the original composer? Or maybe it's played in some kind of keyboard by Beck himself? That melody is really cool. Sounds like a robot singing in the shower ;)

  • @Videogametube it's featured a lot in this album for some reason.

  • At first I thought that was a bundle of hay jumping over that thing.

  • This is the jam.

  • the end sounds like one of those birthday card tunes

  • beck, in your weird fusion between rock, folk, and electronica, you make some good songs.

  • 2:08 - 2:32 fucking badass

  • Whenever I listen to this song, I always envision this casino in the middle of an otherwise barren desert. Beck is performing this song at the casino and he's doing all of these crazy dance moves. Right at 2:31, I envision an eighteen-wheeler instantaneously exploding in slow motion. There's also a cardboard robot, secret service agents who are hunting down criminals, and dancing astronauts. Yes, that's really what I imagine while listening to this song.

  • I'm sure I'm a pedophile or anything else. I'm a female. I'm about 5 feet tall. I'll never work again if the ydon't find a way to undo this. I had schizophrenia. Now I have something worse. I said prior that they could have my check.

  • They are damaging the damaged. I didn't ask for anything, and I didn't expect anything.

  • I'm Kaela Elizabeth Creighton. I have plenty of cognitive tests, before and after. I live at 3 Hyer Court, Rolla Mo. 65402. My number is 573-458-2080, and if anyone else has had their rights infringed upon, call. If we have a population, we can go for a cure.

  • jI cannot wait to be conquered by a superior nation.

  • I'm in so much pain.

  • Beck should never have stopped working with the Dust Brothers

  • ahhh....totally love this album the best!!! odelay show was my very first waaay back in the day!!! atari teenage riot opened up for them...badass show!!!

  • who is the drummer on this song+album? he is badass

  • @jordan5s Beck and a guy named Joey Waronker held down the drums for the album aside from what was sampled

  • @multivitamins4all You mean they used nails or glue or what?

  • @PlasticKatanaProd wow why do you love cops so much?

  • 80's music < 90's music

  • @iceguy0077

    Agree 90' s= 70's

  • always kicks ass. great to drive to.

  • @PlasticKatanaProd The intro makes me think of traveling the tunnel between new jersey and Manhattan, and when the main song goes up, you would exit out of the tunnel and just see colorful skyscrapers

  • Excellent song, maybe my fav on this album. Beck and Mike Patton would be a creat collaboration, thinking that after hearing Bungle tonight...

  • I'm not falling for that scientology crap, but without it Beck might not have had his incredible music sensabilities. Whatever it takes to produce genius like this is ok with me.

  • i can make a song too, and use real words, not like odelay.

odelay is a word, look it up in the becktionary.

  • this song is ill that beat in the background is sick

  • I remember rollin around at like 300 in the mornin trippin face on acid and this song came on and it was like nnooo other mayun.

  • i remember my mom used to get really upset. seeing me all around the house with my crappy earphone on, listening to beck. she said. why you idolized that junkie type of musician xp... and i said ma. try listen to his stuff. there are so many layers of sounds in his music. it's amazing .... she look at me weird and she just walk away shaking her head. =_=.....,,beck is great. his music is so rich and fun :3

  • @puddinfacekiki make her hear the information.

  • @Xylotonic Haha if you are serious than you are a major wimp dude. If it makes you feel any better he's admitted to not being very into it, just one of those "I was born into it" type situations.

  • @multivitamins4all true that, he did say they help a lot of people and if beck saw it first hand well i trust the guy. If there are some decent philosophies in their let him be right? Beck's a good man.

  • it's the leaders, not really the individuals.

  • @Xylotonic open your mind.

  • @Xylotonic I detect some negative body thetons

  • @Xylotonic great artists tend to be a little insane. beck in some way believes in a space overlord, van gogh conversed with god and cut off his left ear.

  • oh great memories, there was a time i never stopped playing this album, one of the best

  • beastie boys..

  • yeah, i know, i think i forget the word OFTEN, since i know how they record a studio album, i have seen them

  • brings great memories!

  • badass song!

  • Freakin' awesome groove <3

  • Does anyone know about this beat? Was it a studio drummer or a sampled beat? One of my fav albums

  • studio drummer with added samps

  • no, it was a drummer, and that drummer was beck, he plays drums for his albums in studio

  • You cant argue with this groove..

  • from 3:45 on is a run dmc cut.

  • This song reminds me of Loser and Beercan from Mellow Gold, but with more energy and kick.

  • dude this song is wicked aas can be,go beck!wonder what's in his vehicle anyway?

  • werd yo. werd out. werd-a-o-rama. the end.

  • Ok Beck is a straight up genius. This tune is so sick and so underrated. There's too many crazy things going on. I love the sound around 1:20. The stuff the Beastie Boys did on Hello Nasty remind of this song over and over.

This is still one of my top albums from the '90s.

  • This album was my first insight into Beck.

    I never looked back.

  • I remember listening to this shit in the car growing up, my dad always played Beck, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana and shit like that

  • all good bands man

  • you had a hard childhood motherfucker

  • This was the first CD I ever bought when I was 13.

I have to say, it was a fuckin' great purchase.

  • I was on a trip when i was 13, a guy i was visiting gave me this album said i should have it, so i took it, fell in love with it. Dude fell down the stairs and died the next day. This album is burned into my brain forever. Every track rocks. True story.

  • beck rules hands down! one of the records i look forward too

  • i'm just saying this one hell of a great album,Beck made damn sure he wouldn't become a 1 hit wonder, thanks for the dust bros helping him with odelay he still is famous as ever.Beck rocks.

  • The great thing about this album is that the Dust Brothers have admitted having extremely limited activity in the album, with Beck doing near all the noises by himself.

  • Great song by beck, but where is the other songs from odelay like readymade, jackass, sissyneck, hotwax. They should be on here,i wonder why they are not,oh well hopefully soon.

  • @Surfanimal1990s theyre back up! just look at the related videos! :3

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa xD

  • This is the best road trip CD by far.

  • right on i listened to this cd over and over travelling from chicago to arizona

  • one thier best songs

  • orale

  • THIS IS AMAZING. Mellow, rocky, funky...the whole shebang.

  • I want whatever this guy burns in his van

  • diesle and pcp?

  • @KOOGMEISTER I don't, but I got some of it anyway apparently. Ouch. Humans have no rights, not one.

  • Where did Beck sample 0:43 - 0:45 from? It sounds so familiar.

  • herbie hancock - headhunters

  • It's horns from the song "Get Up and Dance" by Freedom.

  • NAKED CHIKEN NUGGETS

  • This tune takes you everywhere, I love the way it goes to just about thrashing, then calms down to mellow again. Beck kicks glutious maximus.

  • goin back to houston to get me some pants,,,,

  • @STEEEVVYZ I noticed that in lord only knows lol and the enchanting wizard of rythm haha

  • I just LOVE the combination of music styles like blues, rap, country, electronic beats and so much more you can imagine. Already a good record since the Dust Bros. produced the album! :D

  • exactly! personally, im a rocker person, led zeppelin and things like that, i hate rap, funk, and electro, but Bewck combines the genres i hate and a little rock and gave me something i amazingly like!

though im more a fan of his 90s stuff

    Beck is still Wicked

  • im the same exact way. im obsessed with zep, and i hate rap, but this song especially is so hard n' funky, you cant help but bob your head to it.

  • thats from high five (rock the catskills).

  • High 5 more Dead than Alive~!!!!!
