The feather shows that Altaïr had proper authorisation to strike in the first place. The "proof of the blood" is simply ritual symbolism.

Yeah Templars who are Christians were the bad guys at the time. Their intentions/vision was justified but their methods... well, they killed a lot of people and sinned a lot but were "forgiven" (easily) by the Vatican, so the Templars can do their crusades/missions with nothing standing in their way. Didn't read up a lot on the Templars, so guess I gotta go back and read. But yeah ThePhantomKing is right, just treat them as government (which is more/less like the Vatican).

I assassined him with the hidden blade, I got the sword in the crowd achievement after that. And I think I'm pretty good at countering. Ahh... This game is epic... The sword is probably funnier but it's definitely not a beat'em all. AC, Hitman need to be considered in a different way please. The aim of each mission and the assassin's creed requires stealth. In that case why to play such a game...just to hit and run??Silly, game for mature not for kids.

i went to garnier through the scholars and climbed up the ladder(no guard trouble suprisingly.)and for some reason a mental guy missed his punch and followed me up the ladder.i had to push him off in front of garnier(it was hard)and he landed in the walkway instead.i was lucky because everyone but garnier went to him(akward lol) and i tossed 2 knives straight in the back(retarded man was hard to push remember?) I jumped down and did the cutscene.(i had to run and use tackle to push mental man.
