i think you're wrong about morimoto. it doesn't really matter what "proper training" you have as long as the food you prepare is suited for your customers and seeing as he's racked up alot of wins, i'd say he's worthy of being an iron chef. p.s the point of iron chef is not to make pure japanese food, but luxurious food thats different, hence having four iron chefs of different background training.

Are you stupid? So what do you call Michiba then? He's the first neo-Japanese chef in IC, and his motto is "Good cuisine has no borders" meaning he'll incorporate all sorts of ingredients OUTSIDE of Japan.

And Michiba FULLY endorses Morimoto in IC, visiting him once in New York and giving him secret ingredients in the Bobby Flay battle. So are you telling me Michiba is not worthy, even though he's the MOST SKILLED of the IC's?

Scallions in duck with ketchup isn't that special. One can argue it can be done in a BBQ. Morimoto, however, used soup from BEFORE and placed that in a different dish. That alone shows imagination and creativity.

And didn't you hear the judges? The challenger's dishes had no balance. Some were too heavy, others too light. An IC must make dishes that fit the meal AND satisfies the tasters' needs (for this case, tasters that were full).

Please look at the whole picture before you talk.

The judge who gave the finishing words to him was right. Morimoto made a few great disehs, the challengers dishes were only meh. Crap is crap, regardless of what ingredients went into it. While good eats are good eats, once again, regardless of what goes into them.

Kandagawa-san made such great, snarky comments from the audience, I want to go back and watch his red snapper battle with Sakai. I have seen 4 overtime battles (I think you have 3 here), and they are always fun to watch.
