None are in prison for anything (including the one who pleaded guilty - he served about 10 months in jail, another 2 in juvie, & the rest in a foster home while going to school but he's "free" now).
4 of the 6 have been arrested at least once (some more than once) since the Jena 6 crime. All 4 were arrested on assault or battery charges (as well as other things like shoplfting & trespassing).

Life sentences!?! What does that have to do with anything? Bell got 18 months. He was on trial for Aggravated Assault and turned down a deal that would have kept him in jail for a few more months then have 2 years probation BEFORE it became national news.

Actually, the more I thought about it I don't think Hannity knows much about the Jena 6 case. I think a lot of the stuff he rants about, he hasn't researched that well. He just knows a few basics & is lost on the specifics which is why he cuts off & ignores the arguments of so many guests.
He should have had an easy rebuttal, because Sharpton's protests on this are based on BS. Having listened to Hannity on this subject, I don't think he really knows the specifics of the case.

True. But the controversy is over the fact that the law (the state prosecutor especially) did not prosecute the crimes equally. The white students faced no legal punishment. The black students were tried as adults for second degree attempted murder. So the prosecutor sought to convict the black students as harshly as the law would allow, but the hanging of nooses by white students (to scare black students away from sitting under a "white" tree on school property) was not even prosecuted.

I wish he'd have had the balls to say no. Or at least say that there is an ongiong trial and he'll reserve judgemnt, but the current evidence shows no reason for sympathy on the Jena 6 whatsoever. He is a tool, and may not have known enough about the case to say, though he's talked about it on his show numerous times. Someone (besides Whitlock, Pat Robertson, and a few others) needed to grow a pair and ask Sharpton just why he was supposed to be backing criminals with multiple offenses?

I know the story very well. YOU are making it up that people call them hoodlums because of their color. They ARE hoodlums with the criminal records and local stories to prove it. Blacks in Jena call then thugs too. They ARE. NO ONE has tried to lock them up forever. Don't make stuff up.

You got everything backwards the white kid felt threatened so he went back to his truck pulled a shotgun, then went back into the store and aimed at the two black kids who wrestled it away from him before he could do any damage. I don't know where you go this from, but I have seen the witness statements from the THREE (not 2) black kids, the 1 guy they assaulted, and the 2 other witnesses. The guy NEVER took the gun in the store (they had been kicked out of the store - they ARE thugs). They wanted to get him for an earlier fight, he ran, they chased, he grabbed a gun, they jumped him and took it. A girl saw it all (it was OUTSIDE) & called the cops.
They call themselves thugs! They have criminal records to prove it.

No because he's a hypocrit and a racist, besides the Jena six should not go to jail for beating someone up. what happens if its the opposite what are you going to suggest six white boys should spend life in prison for beating a black guy up, and based on the story of the jena six he was asking for it, Besides a white guy can hold a shot gun up to two balck teenagers and not get punished, but when 6 black teenagers beat up a white teen then they must go to prison for a long time?

He didn't. She is talking about an incident where 3 of them attacked a guy and he ran and grabbed a gun. They jumped him, took it, and ran as someone drove up to the store parking lot. Someone nearby saw it and called the police to report an assault and theft. All witness accounts supported that the 3 were attacking the 1, not vice versa. Jena 6 supporters somehow point to this as evidence of mistreatment of blacks.
