What a brilliant lecture. I hope that some day I can speak as coherently and in as much depth as Joseph and McLeish and whoever else about this kind of stuff.
Money will stick around. The problem isn't _just_ the corporations that are evil (Bucky Fuller pointed out their parasitic nature years ago), but that people are closed-minded and resist change wholeheartedly. They are also not like you Mssr. McLeish and your audience: The mases are lazy and exploitative. They don't want to work hard like you, to seek new paths. They want someone to DO IT FOR THEM.
@siggymartin Sadly I would have to agree with you. And a very well made point. I am somewhat dismayed by the fact that the slightly less educated and yet not poor.. (so pretty much "normal/average") .. amongst us will believe of course that the system is "working" for them, and would almost violently resist the notion that there are any faults with the established order of things. Preaching to the converted will not crack it. Maybe it will take the inevitable global collapse that is imminent.
@NitorSilentium The original was "for all to access. Indeed the issues we see in the stories we've discussed, and what we see in the world..." so a minor edit. A small error ;-)
It's so frustrating to think about what we might be able to achieve as a species without the shackles of this economic system. I wish more people could see outside the box we have been put in.
"If you're only doing it for the money, it's probably not worth doing in the first place". So true!!! Hahahaha.
