@iavio ummmm, we do make assessments and perform pt care. you had better hope that we know how the hell to do an assessment, and how to make decisions based on that assessment. you must be a first year resident. you probably only know enough to be dangerous. don't worry, you'll learn better.
almost as reassuring as the nurse I had at the ER a few months back... As he's sticking the needle in my arm and blood is dripping down my arm he said "oh I always make a mess with these." My forearm bruised for a good 2 weeks it was not pleasant. Y'all stay safe and thank you for serving!
Lol i just did mine when riding bike, i got my wrist in the brakes and pressed, i heard a high pitched pop. It literally sounded like something getting popped. Lol.
omg just watchig that reminds me of me SO much. iv had more IV's than i can count and recently iv had 15 in a row cuz my veins kept dissapearing it sucks. T^T i hate needles
Why do people act like giving IVs is a major medical procedure? Is it invasive? Yes. Major? No. its usually the guys right out of Combat LifeSaver or stright out of 68W that act like its a big deal. I always laugh at them.
You stupid fuccer its important because save lives! And yes its major because: you have no fuckin idea how fast the fluids travel in the system, you can kill someone in 30sec. And i know because we opened an animal just to see it happening!!!!!!!!!!
I didnt say it wasn't important. PLease re-read my post. But people overuse the procedure in attempt to apply what little knowledge they have in the medical field. If you can take fluids P.O. then that is the route you should administer the therapy. What is this you speak of killing someone in thirty seconds? If you are talking about the infamous airbubble then it shows what little knowledge you possess in the medical field. lol
Im not talking about damm bubbles you should know how many f... narcotics we can put in the infusion and how fast they travel. Yes i do know my shitt.. and i know i can kill someone maybe you should be aline medic when you can know people with balls while 10sec save one guy and not a little hospital bitch that hide from the bombs!.
*sigh* You cannot put narcs in a IV line. Not even as a 68W. What Narcs are you talking about administered IV route? Certainly, it will not be given in the field except perhaps morphine. I have been both Infantry and a "line Medic". And you would only kill someone if you didnt know what you were doing ...which leads me to my next question: Why would you keep brining it up if you indeed know your "shitt"? You are a disgrace to the Medical Corps with your terrible spelling and lack of knowledge.
Well i am tired to talk to hospital bitches, talk to me when you have the pants to be in the line; because i guess the closest you have been it's behind a tv watching Black Howk Down!
You have to have a GT score of 110 and if your grammar and spelling are any indication you fall well short of that goal. Good luck in your career as a Nurses Aide.
Wait, you guys arent allowed to give Narcs IV? What about Dilaudid? MS?...just make sure their resps arent below 12 and their PCO2 isn't above 50. Along with O2 sats below 90%. And if you're giving MS IV, then I'm assuming that you also have an order for Narcan which can be used against most opiates for severe respiratory depression
i say.. let the arm rest on something.. of course when in battle that is easy for me to say. I'm a nurse, and after nine months of chemo, dialysis, and blood products...
@predarotslayer1 You're right! Nurses take orders from the "boss" and don't perform patient care from their own assessments.

It looked like that 18 gauge was a little too big for the forearm vein. He had a great vein in the AC.
