In the final episode you get the impression that Zeus is the only 'real' one and that the rest are just powerful entities, with the exception of Atlas who seems just as bad a person to cross as Zeus.

Chronos must have fallen pretty far if he was ever on the same level as those two.

The kingdom of hades, when they get there, is pretty disturbing. Zeus gives them a final test, this time one of character, after which they return to Earth.

In one episode I think it was implied that the gods once lived on earth and flew off in giant spaceships, milennia before the adventures of Ulyssys. Which would make the gods in the show not real gods but just beings with very advanced science or the gods are just some sort of artificial intelligence computer thing.
