Part of this song, including the chorus, is used in the background of a scene in goodfellas. The scene is where Karen goes looking for henry after he stands her up at the restaurant. Amazing song!
I love this song. She sings an English version but this is prettier. Does anyone know where I can download an MP3 version of this? I also know Betty Curtis sings a version of this, but I like Clark's better.
Interesting note...for those who don't know, this is on the "Goodfella's" soundtrack, used during the scene after Karen confronts Henry for standing her up. I think they used the Betty Curtis version.
thanks for the info. this is much much better. It has a certain sophistication to it whereas the Peggy March verson has a certain teenage love sound to it.
Trivia: This was the first vocal version of the song. The first recording was an instrumental by Franck Pourcel, one of it's two composers, the other composer was Paul Mauriat. That version can be found on You Tube as well.

@ForzaAquila OF COURSE NOT, SHE IS WONDERFUL IN ANY LANGUAGE

Note to emerytownblues:
Agreed, m8...the 1963 Little Peggy March hit on RCA was obviously made to appeal to the American Bandstand market in the USA.
This one is so *very* brilliant and sophisticated...and, IMHO, a *refreshing* departure from Clark's *overplayed* "Downtown"..
Thanx fer it, m8..

There is also beautiful czech version by Judita Čeřovská from 1965, search youtube: Září malý vůz.
I thought that Ricky Nelson was first interpret of this but maybe it's even older...

Missing part from italian lyrics (for marieurbach):
Tu vivrai con me
in un'isola fantastica
e un mondo vedrai di lassù,
un mondo nascosto nel blu,
tutto nuovo per te.

How many other languages does Petula sing? That's four (English/French/German/Spanish) WOW Is there any Greek song she sings? i.e Never On Sunday
