Petula is a giant, she is able to sing in many languages without accent. Her italian is perfect.

I love this song. She sings an English version but this is prettier. Does anyone know where I can download an MP3 version of this? I also know Betty Curtis sings a version of this, but I like Clark's better.

Interesting note...for those who don't know, this is on the "Goodfella's" soundtrack, used during the scene after Karen confronts Henry for standing her up. I think they used the Betty Curtis version.

Agreed, m8...the 1963 Little Peggy March hit on RCA was obviously made to appeal to the American Bandstand market in the USA.

This one is so *very* brilliant and sophisticated...and, IMHO, a *refreshing* departure from Clark's *overplayed* "Downtown"..

Petula Clark had a hit first i in French with "Chariot" then in Italian and another language. Little Peggy March had a hit in english in '63
