What is this, this is hideous! Don't use truncate method, you need a LiteOn iHAS 124B drive to burn correctly or just go to 360collector .co.uk and order them! They get delivered in like a day and they are perfect, topology data and all even XGD3 games they offer verbs and normal discs, pretty sweet.
im new to burning games and im trying to figure out how to burn batman arkham city. when i load up imgburn and get everything set up im not sure which file to select. there isnt a file that says dvd file on it. i have 5 different files, 2 bup files, 2 ifo files and 1 vob file. can somebody please help me out and tell me what i need to do to get this to work? i would really appreciate it alot.
ok, i did the thing about truncate, ok, but, when I reach the end of the game (i Think) occurs an error that says its missing data and I can't go through that point, I've burned it at 2x ( the minimum possible) can anyone help?

I put it in my xbox it says play game, I press it screen turns black then it comes back to the main xbox menu again. I tried it with with 2.4x, 6x and 8x. I am using imgburn not sure what to do. I Watched the video and have some experience from a modded wii wasted 4 verbatims on MW3 I tested the files with abgx360 before burning and it passed....the xbox is so much harder then the wii or rather te succcess rate is much highier with the wii.. 10 DL dvd's later I I got 2 games to work.

only if you have hitachi drives, and the game is xdg3. hitachi cant read truncate disks, otherwise hitachi si good to go for everything else doesnt even check agp2.5 or topologogy shit.

Question. When I tried to run F1 2011 on my flashed xbox 360, I had to install something the game asked. I installed it and then my xbox stopped accepting burned games... I had it reflashed (early october), and now it's normal. I don't now which firmware was installed, but do you think XGD3 games will run in it? Or do I have to update the firmware?
after where it says no enough space on this disc when i click the bottom on i don't have a message pop up saying set 0 capicaty failed but it still burned it that ok??? please respond asap plz
@habbe3lito if your on LT+2.0 you can burn using the truncate method and play these games fine. there's nothing new to the burning process apart from the errors shown in the video. different layerbreak and a larger iso are the only 2 differences between burning XGD3 and XGD2 games. Both of those errors are shown in the vid :)
I'm getting a "can't set the layer break position" followed by "failed to reserve track:invalid field in CDB" error, even though I did everything as instructed. I use verbatim discs, and I tryed both 2x and 2.4x speed. This is happening to all xgd3 images I have. What do I do?
@Twixtorable Xbox have these games in code where a random cd cannot act as a video game. it has to have special specs... The makers of these games would not make it this easily accessible for a person to jump on the internet and go "burn" a cd and turn it into a functioning video game. i need some help, i downloaded assassins creed revelations and burnt it on a dual layer disc using imgburn and a toshiba dvd writer, i choose truncate, then i get the zone capacity error in imgburn log, and the reason for zone cap. is diff . than what you showed in the vid, the game burning completes without anymore errors, i install the game and at 45% it says"cant read disc" , i play directly but at a certain part of game it says "disc unreadable" can anyone help me with this? thanks

do you know something about the new dashboard update 2.0.13604.0? will reflash the drive back to stock like 2.0.13599.0? I have lt 1.9..the dash update will unflash my xbox?
@andreibogdi the 604 update will not flash your xbox back to stock if you are on 2.0. I am also about 95% sure it doesn't flash 1.9 back to stock either. Updates no longer flash the drives :)
@GrantRamsay82 TAKE THE PLUNGE! lol you should do it, it's reletively easy to get games, and there is GUI methods of flashing the drive - with some drives it's just 3 clicks! Need any help with the flashing send me a private message and I'll give you a hand :)
@Nailsinmytummy it's not NEEDED. its recommened tho, but I rarely use my lite-on burner and I'm not banned, play mostly on live so burning without hacked lite-on is currently as safe as burning with :)
@VincentArdizzone all XGD3 games except Forza 4. It will play but it has special checks that will get you banned. all other games are fine to burn like this
@andreibogdi for this game I did not use burner max firmware. I burned it with my usually laptop DVD burner. however when I do burn games with my lite-on iHAS burner (with burner max) there are no errors :)
GamingNowvideo Hi there, I followed these instructions and managed to burn and play Batman Arkham City, Battlefield 3, but I used the same method to burn Gears of War 3, it burned perfectly but when I put the disco in the XBOX 360, no image of the game appeared, but I pressed play anyway, suddenly a balck screen showed up and I was sent back to the opening screen of XBOX 360, I tried taking the disc out and put it several times but with no sucess, please tell me what am I doing wrong!
I have the latest LT and imgburn, but after burning the game and insert it in my 360 it just says play game with no image. when i click play game it loops back to dashboard... any idea?? can't find it anywhere on the internet. Imgburn is set correctly.
@LilWeezyAddiction this happened to me a few times with the new DBZ game. I just opened and closed the tray a few times and it worked, I think my laser in my xbox drive is dying, that might also be what is up with yours. That being said a lot of people have had the play game >> black screen >> dashboard problem with brand new lasers and nobody has managed to figure out why it happens yet... sorry :( maybe try burning again?
@GamingNowvideo I've had this with forza 4 and Lotr: war in the north. DBZ runs fine on my 360. Seems to be all the xdg3 games so far. I've burned Lotr. twice and neither run with succes :(
@LilWeezyAddiction that's unfortunate. did you flash your own xbox? do you have a hitachi drive? I just realised that LT+ 2.0 isn't out for hitachi yet. no XGD3 on hitachi :( You sound pretty confident about burning etc so I recon you'd already know this and would know if you had a hitachi drive but I can't really think of anything else, maybe a spoofed drive being the issue but that gives a 1 red light error I think :s Sorry I can't help you any more than this mate :(

I done the recent dashboard update and didn't get flashed back. seems it was just to get ready for XGD3 disks. doesn't look like every dashboard will do it. i hope you didn't get ripped off from the guy lol I really can't think of anything that is stopping it working. is it possible to try burning it on another computer with a different burner? that's the about the last thing I can think of, that your burner won't burn it properly :s
@GamingNowvideo Nah between forza and war in the north i've burned the 3rd disc of LA Noire which is fine. My burner is pretty new and up to date... Hope i got ripped off so at least i can get it fixed now ^^
Could you maybe show a tut on how to flash the LT MAX on your laptops drive? or a external BenQ drive, i dont quite get how to burn with another drive yet?
@MustangCruising I have a vid on flashing LT MAX. Unfortunetally you can't flash it to your laptops drive, nor an external BenQ drive. LT-MAX is only for lite-on iHAS PC burners. It's a 5 1/4 inch drive so there is no way it will fit in your laptop, you will need external power and a USB - SATA converter to use it with your latpop. You will also need to buy an iHAS burner. In this vid I show you how to burn the games with a NORMAL LAPTOP BURNER :D

@FJOGHS you can burn XGD3 games the way I show in the video without having to do anything to your DVD burner firmware. There is no extra anti-piracy prevention layer, MS just added some data to the end of the disk in a space that normal DVD burners can't write to. That is where you are getting the idea you NEED new firmware. New firmware is only for a particular drive type (lite-on iHAS - with a B chipset) and that can burn the extra data. You can burn all games except Forza 4 like in this vid:)

@aniggnigg any game with an iso and dvd file will burn basically the same as this video. You won't get any pop ups or any errors or anything with non XGD3 games.
Followed this to burn Modern Warfare 3 today using memorex disc.. game burned 100% Successfully. However in game halfway through a campaign level or multiplayer match it pops up disc is unreadable. I assume getting the lite-on ihas drive and verbatim disc might fix the problem.
@0bigtony0 it would fix the problem to get a lite-on iHAS burner and verbatim disks. It would also help just to get the verbatim disks. Out of a pack of 10 memorex disks I got 2 working XGD3 games and before XGD3 out of 10 disks I got 8 XGD2 games. Memorex disks + XGD3 = no go, they fail too often
I have the same problem as @BvlgarigovIT. I don't get the Set LO Zone capacity failed error. Then it contineus it say's it is complete but when i put it in my xbox i just get a black screen and it sends me back to the Dashboard. I have my LayerBreak=2133520 and i have set my setings to calculate oprimal. Ofcourse i did use the .dvd file. Could it be a wrong download and should i try a diffrent version? Could you plz help me (i'm trying batman arkham city).
@Kijutsu1987 could be a bad download... I remember one kicking around just before the game came out. could also be bad disks. a lot of disks have problems when an XGD3 game is burned to them
@kentc81 need an iHAS burner for offline aswell. the error that pops up is random. most people say it doesn't happen first time you play the game, usually the 2nd time about 10-60 minutes in. kinda random. I suggest using an iHAS burner for Forza 4
@ProEvoSoccer5 don't know tbh, I have never tried. Might move the layerbreak and cause issues with LT-MAX (LT+ 2.0) reading it. might burn more like the iHAS burners and move it to the correct place. it's likely more easily caught. If C4E says to burn them this way because this is the method he programmed LT-MAX to understand
when i tried to burn battlefield 3 it failed at around 97% because the game which was 8.3 gigs and the space on the DL DVD is about 8.1. any help on how to get around this problem?
@sirpimpalot777 Failing at 97% is normal if you have the older version of ImgBurn. Check to see the version number in ImgBurn is the same as the latest version on the ImgBurn website. If it's different then failure at 97% is normal. If it's the same then you need to try burning again. with the disk being 8.1 gigs the last 0.2 doesn't fit, so it doesn't get burned. all the game data is there tho, the last 0.2 is not needed to play the game
I never got the "Set LO Zone capacity failed at @1:01. In the log though, it just continued. I should still be ok right? It still burning now, and it finishing with verify. I did select "Turnecate" option before the burn -Burn till the end of the disc. I should be ok right?
@BvlgarigovIT layerbreak settings are probably wrong. Make sure in the program it's set to calculate oprimal and the number from the video is in the .dvd file.
@GamingNowvideo battlefield 3 got different layer break, i think it is around 2133520, not the usual 191.... make sure youve got that one right. And i got the same problem while burning BF3 as you, it stopped at 97%.
@GamingNowvideo Hey, just wanted to let you and everybody else knows, I burned a game and even though it didn't show the SET L0 Zone Capacity error it still work, so it's probably not mandatory.
@holyshitimstoned do not burn a copy of Forza 4 using this method. It is the one exception to the rule, it has a new type of check that will flag you if your disk is burned this way. FORZA 4 NEEDS AN IHAS BURNER.
@GucciBoy347 you can :) everyone's talking about "live safe" burns using an iHAS burner and verbatims but currently burning like this passes ALL CURRENT CHECKS so in theory burning these games (apart from Foza 4) with your usual burner is just as safe as playing older games. No need for a new burner as of yet. :)
@domagoj981 newest version is best version for XGD2 and XGD3 games. previous versions of ImgBurn work with XGD2 and XGD3 too but with XGD3 and older version things are a bit different
Hii I have a question now don't you have to copy and paste the layerbraek number to "use specified" at 0:34 then switch it back to calculate optimal or what do u do with the number and what is OPC do u show it in the video or do I only have to do as the video says thnx in advance
@abdooo401 the number is the layerbreak that should be set in the .dvd file. You can experiment with OPC on and off and see what works best with your disks. Just leave OPC off unless you get a load of bad burns. then try switching on and see if it makes a difference
I use Memorex DVD+R DL 8x. I burn at 4x and all mine work perfect. At one time Memorex wouldnt work but it was due to my old burners incompatibility issue with the disc. My new burner burns them fine at 4x.
The LT-Max is only needed if you wanna be safer on live and you dont like truncating the burn. . Its not needed if you are playing offline. The games will still run fine with the truncate method.

@DuMaaaaaaCOD the update depends on what dashboard you already have. on the xbox go to system settings >> system info (i think that's it, if not it's similar) and check what kernal version you have. if you are on 13599 you are fine to update, tbh I'm not really sure of any dashboard before that. if it's a title update then it's fine. dashboard update might not be, i don't really know for certain. if you are on a different kernal version let me know what 1 and I will test it for you if I can :)

i just got my drive flashed to newest software... no problems. When burning Batman A City i put correct layer break from .dvd file and choose truncate ( on image birn ) using DL verbatim burns good but when put into 360 it just says play game... press A button to play and it goes black screen then comes back to dash saying play game again. @gronnlue never noticed it was on abgx database, happy days. I don't have an online pass for BF3 so I haven't played online but I have played gears, batman, rage and space marine while connected to live, also played matchmaking on space marine and gears 3 and I'm not banned. These burns pass ALL CURRENT CHECKS so in theory they are as safe as XGD2 online. All games except Forza 4 is safe burned like this. After the next dash update tho nobody knows if it will be safe or not.

Also,I have disk's that I think will work for burning games but I'm not sure if they will work. They are DVD+R 16x 4.7GB 120min. Are these only good for burning movies? Or are they also good for burning games? And if I go over 4GB of memory, can I just burn the rest to a second disk?

When I put the copy in the console, sometimes it says the disk needs cleaning or a black screen appears and goes back to the main menu of XBOX 360!

Question. When I tried to run F1 2011 on my flashed xbox 360, I had to install something the game asked. I installed it and then my xbox stopped accepting burned games... I had it reflashed (early october), and now it's normal. I don't now which firmware was installed, but do you think XGD3 games will run in it? Or do I have to update the firmware?

@habbe3lito if your on LT+2.0 you can burn using the truncate method and play these games fine. there's nothing new to the burning process apart from the errors shown in the video. different layerbreak and a larger iso are the only 2 differences between burning XGD3 and XGD2 games. Both of those errors are shown in the vid :)

I'm getting a "can't set the layer break position" followed by "failed to reserve track:invalid field in CDB" error, even though I did everything as instructed. I use verbatim discs, and I tryed both 2x and 2.4x speed. This is happening to all xgd3 images I have. What do I do?

@Twixtorable Xbox have these games in code where a random cd cannot act as a video game. it has to have special specs... The makers of these games would not make it this easily accessible for a person to jump on the internet and go "burn" a cd and turn it into a functioning video game. i need some help, i downloaded assassins creed revelations and burnt it on a dual layer disc using imgburn and a toshiba dvd writer, i choose truncate, then i get the zone capacity error in imgburn log, and the reason for zone cap. is diff . than what you showed in the vid, the game burning completes without anymore errors, i install the game and at 45% it says"cant read disc" , i play directly but at a certain part of game it says "disc unreadable" can anyone help me with this? thanks

@andreibogdi for this game I did not use burner max firmware. I burned it with my usually laptop DVD burner. however when I do burn games with my lite-on iHAS burner (with burner max) there are no errors :)

GamingNowvideo Hi there, I followed these instructions and managed to burn and play Batman Arkham City, Battlefield 3, but I used the same method to burn Gears of War 3, it burned perfectly but when I put the disco in the XBOX 360, no image of the game appeared, but I pressed play anyway, suddenly a balck screen showed up and I was sent back to the opening screen of XBOX 360, I tried taking the disc out and put it several times but with no sucess, please tell me what am I doing wrong!

I have the latest LT and imgburn, but after burning the game and insert it in my 360 it just says play game with no image. when i click play game it loops back to dashboard... any idea?? can't find it anywhere on the internet. Imgburn is set correctly.

I just opened and closed the tray a few times and it worked, I think my laser in my xbox drive is dying, that might also be what is up with yours. That being said a lot of people have had the play game >> black screen >> dashboard problem with brand new lasers and nobody has managed to figure out why it happens yet... sorry :( maybe try burning again?

I just realised that LT+ 2.0 isn't out for hitachi yet. no XGD3 on hitachi :( You sound pretty confident about burning etc so I recon you'd already know this and would know if you had a hitachi drive but I can't really think of anything else, maybe a spoofed drive being the issue but that gives a 1 red light error I think :s Sorry I can't help you any more than this mate :(

I done the recent dashboard update and didn't get flashed back. seems it was just to get ready for XGD3 disks. doesn't look like every dashboard will do it. i hope you didn't get ripped off from the guy lol I really can't think of anything that is stopping it working. is it possible to try burning it on another computer with a different burner? that's the about the last thing I can think of, that your burner won't burn it properly :s

@MustangCruising I have a vid on flashing LT MAX. Unfortunetally you can't flash it to your laptops drive, nor an external BenQ drive. LT-MAX is only for lite-on iHAS PC burners. It's a 5 1/4 inch drive so there is no way it will fit in your laptop, you will need external power and a USB - SATA converter to use it with your latpop. You will also need to buy an iHAS burner. In this vid I show you how to burn the games with a NORMAL LAPTOP BURNER :D

Hi there please help me to burn xgd3 games, afterall it's not possible to burn gxd3 games like the old ones am I right? The layerbreak is different and Microsoft added a extra layer to prevent piracy correct?
So in oder to be able to burn gxd3 games, do I have to install this 0800 v3 firmware in my current drive I usually use to burn XBOX 360 games?
Do I really need to do this? Isn't there any way to burn in a different method without changing my current burner firmware?

@FJOGHS you can burn XGD3 games the way I show in the video without having to do anything to your DVD burner firmware. There is no extra anti-piracy prevention layer, MS just added some data to the end of the disk in a space that normal DVD burners can't write to. That is where you are getting the idea you NEED new firmware. New firmware is only for a particular drive type (lite-on iHAS - with a B chipset) and that can burn the extra data. You can burn all games except Forza 4 like in this vid:)

Followed this to burn Modern Warfare 3 today using memorex disc.. game burned 100% Successfully. However in game halfway through a campaign level or multiplayer match it pops up disc is unreadable. I assume getting the lite-on ihas drive and verbatim disc might fix the problem.

@0bigtony0 it would fix the problem to get a lite-on iHAS burner and verbatim disks. It would also help just to get the verbatim disks. Out of a pack of 10 memorex disks I got 2 working XGD3 games and before XGD3 out of 10 disks I got 8 XGD2 games. Memorex disks + XGD3 = no go, they fail too often

I have the same problem as @BvlgarigovIT. I don't get the Set LO Zone capacity failed error. Then it contineus it say's it is complete but when i put it in my xbox i just get a black screen and it sends me back to the Dashboard. I have my LayerBreak=2133520 and i have set my setings to calculate oprimal. Ofcourse i did use the .dvd file. Could it be a wrong download and should i try a diffrent version? Could you plz help me (i'm trying batman arkham city).

@kentc81 need an iHAS burner for offline aswell. the error that pops up is random. most people say it doesn't happen first time you play the game, usually the 2nd time about 10-60 minutes in. kinda random. I suggest using an iHAS burner for Forza 4

Might move the layerbreak and cause issues with LT-MAX (LT+ 2.0) reading it. might burn more like the iHAS burners and move it to the correct place. it's likely more easily caught. If C4E says to burn them this way because this is the method he programmed LT-MAX to understand

@sirpimpalot777 Failing at 97% is normal if you have the older version of ImgBurn. Check to see the version number in ImgBurn is the same as the latest version on the ImgBurn website. If it's different then failure at 97% is normal. If it's the same then you need to try burning again. with the disk being 8.1 gigs the last 0.2 doesn't fit, so it doesn't get burned. all the game data is there tho, the last 0.2 is not needed to play the game

I never got the "Set LO Zone capacity failed at @1:01. In the log though, it just continued. I should still be ok right? It still burning now, and it finishing with verify. I did select "Turnecate" option before the burn -Burn till the end of the disc. I should be ok right?

@GamingNowvideo battlefield 3 got different layer break, i think it is around 2133520, not the usual 191.... make sure youve got that one right. And i got the same problem while burning BF3 as you, it stopped at 97%.

@holyshitimstoned do not burn a copy of Forza 4 using this method. It is the one exception to the rule, it has a new type of check that will flag you if your disk is burned this way. FORZA 4 NEEDS AN IHAS BURNER.

@GucciBoy347 you can :) everyone's talking about "live safe" burns using an iHAS burner and verbatims but currently burning like this passes ALL CURRENT CHECKS so in theory burning these games (apart from Foza 4) with your usual burner is just as safe as playing older games. No need for a new burner as of yet. :)

@abdooo401 the number is the layerbreak that should be set in the .dvd file. You can experiment with OPC on and off and see what works best with your disks. Just leave OPC off unless you get a load of bad burns. then try switching on and see if it makes a difference

I use Memorex DVD+R DL 8x. I burn at 4x and all mine work perfect. At one time Memorex wouldnt work but it was due to my old burners incompatibility issue with the disc. My new burner burns them fine at 4x.

The LT-Max is only needed if you wanna be safer on live and you dont like truncating the burn. . Its not needed if you are playing offline. The games will still run fine with the truncate method.

@DuMaaaaaaCOD the update depends on what dashboard you already have. on the xbox go to system settings >> system info (i think that's it, if not it's similar) and check what kernal version you have. if you are on 13599 you are fine to update, tbh I'm not really sure of any dashboard before that. if it's a title update then it's fine. dashboard update might not be, i don't really know for certain. if you are on a different kernal version let me know what 1 and I will test it for you if I can :)

i just got my drive flashed to newest software... no problems. When burning Batman A City i put correct layer break from .dvd file and choose truncate ( on image birn ) using DL verbatim burns good but when put into 360 it just says play game... press A button to play and it goes black screen then comes back to dash saying play game again. I don't have an online pass for BF3 so I haven't played online but I have played gears, batman, rage and space marine while connected to live, also played matchmaking on space marine and gears 3 and I'm not banned. These burns pass ALL CURRENT CHECKS so in theory they are as safe as XGD2 online. All games except Forza 4 is safe burned like this. After the next dash update tho nobody knows if it will be safe or not.

@GamingNowvideo If I haven't flashed my xbox 360, could I just play my game that I burned offline? Or do I need to flash my xbox to even play the game? Thanks if you reply. Also,I have disk's that I think will work for burning games but I'm not sure if they will work. They are DVD+R 16x 4.7GB 120min. Are these only good for burning movies? Or are they also good for burning games? And if I go over 4GB of memory, can I just burn the rest to a second disk?
