Indiana grads have excellent reputations, top companies recruit heavily in Bloomington and Indiana grads are typically fast track people.

I watched the game on ESPN, the crowd volume was up pretty high of course. I never heard f bomb chants unless they were far away. I don't remember sideline reporters going up into the stands either. But...from looking at Illini message boards, they said Indiana fans were instigating a lot during the game and throwing stuff during and after the game.

Bruce Weber does need to recruit, more talent. Go Illini!

I'm not sure who is a bigger idiot, Cowlishaw or Mariotti. I was at the game and i highly doubt anybody in assembly hall was worried about the scene devolving into a riot. He's talking out of his ass. As far as Cowlishaw goes, he can kiss my ass. I go to Illinois and was accepted at Northwestern and could have gotten into Michigan had I applied. There were no beads or ice thrown from the students. It was someone who was sitting above the student section... an adult, not a student. This is disgusting to hear. Mariotti has no idea what he was hearing because not once, NOT ONCE did we drop an f bomb. In fact when we were doing chants when Indiana fans starting yelling "IU...IU..." people were yelling sucks in between the IU yells and these people were immediately yelled at and stopped saying sucks. This has been blown way out of proportion

I was at the game and I thought it was a great environment. Despite the fact Illinois lost, I loved the game. And by the way Mariotti, you can't say forget about Eric Gordon, Bruce Webber just hasn't recruited. He got Eric Gordon. That's why Illinois has no guards now, we thought we had Eric Gordon. But, F bombs were dropped by orange crush members sitting in b and c sections. They were chanting f u Gordon.

Honestly it wasn't that bad. did they mention what Eric Gordon's parents were saying to the Illini fas? Of course not, even before beads were being thrown they were dropping f bombs all night at the fans. Tim Cowlishaw couldn't get into Illinois or Michigan and his comments about the University of Illinois were probably worse of an action than any Illini fan did that night. The actions of the fans have nothing to do with the academic credibility of the university so rethink your comments idiot.

I completely agree. I was at the game on the floor, and I saw two things get thrown, not a constant barrage as they made it sound. I also could have gone to Michigan or Illinois, and had a much larger scholarhip to go to Michigan, but went to Illinois anyway.

Ok, I watched this game. All these guys are blowing this totally out of proportion. I just graduated from Illinois in December. I was accepted to both Michigan's and Illinois' engineering programs when I was applying to college. I chose Illinois. They have a better engineering program and Cowlishaw is a retard. How is a guy who went to Texas and Colorado qualified to make fun of Illinois students?
