She also has a wider range than Whitney (Her version of Con Te Partiro and The Prayer and Nessun Dorma for example) and can sing opera. So when you say imitation at its worst, I'm not sure if you are just a hater or what but Lani is excellent. One of the ONLY singers that can sing a whitney song like Whitney whereas J Hudson just yells like a typical Church singer. just my two cents.

medyo masagwa:( gaya-gaya puto maya. Wish she interpreted the whitney songs using her own voice. napakanasal. Pero I have to say her stamina is amazing. That is the only thing that made her unique. There were also moments in the medley where I felt I heard her voice. But 95% of the time she imitated a whitney, especially the high registers. The nasallity of Whitney is perfectly copied by Lani. I was hoping she would have not done it that way.

She got a very strong stage presence and powerful voice. Naging fan nya ako after this concert. Nainsecure si Zsa Zsa kasi nalampaso sya ni Lani sa show na eto. REGINE V. is not much of a singer...she's one of those artist who got packaged and marketed heavily. REGINE is getting "LAOS"...hirap nang kumita! banlag pa at makapal ang leeg...ang tining nang boses at masakit sa tenga. fortunately filipinos bought what had been package. unwrap the package and there's not much to it! LANI is a better singer by far but unfortunately she's a late bloomer. REGINE performing in Vegas?...she do not have that caliber!

She can't compare to Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston; Lani's whistle register is forced and scratchy, whereas Mariah Carey's whistle register comes with ease and control. Mariah Carey's range is also much, much, larger. Lani's higher notes sound like dying animals.

I totally disagree, She can easily compare to these singers. Lani is versatile singer,can sing pop, rock, OPERA, broadway, soul and a whole lot more. Whitney and Mariah are also very good, but they're not as good when they started, Lani is 40 years and her voice does not show ANY sign of deterioriation at ALL! If anything, she gets better with age!

can't compare lani with any of them..each has her own distinct style, vocal range, dynamics, delivery and projection. lani is a star in her own rights. unlike whitney and mariah who are international and world renowned artist.. lani is distinct to the philippines and to the filipino population. it is just ironic that she sing songs made famous by whitney and mariah which in turn had made her the new diva of vegas and vegas only. to the world and the american mainstream, she's still unknown.
