i went to the school in brentwood nh and trust me save your money it is impossible to learn the amount of stuff you need to call yourself an operator.the certificate they gave me did nothing at all for me.my boss didnt even know what it was the best way to get into this field is to start out laborering and work your way up,because thats whats going to happen even if you have gone to ats.its been 5 years since i went there and i have a great job and im happy but i could have done it without ats
@farmcrash89 Why would you say its a scam? Because you were to lazy to go look for a job after school? Or did you get the boot when you didnt pass the drug test? I went to the school in sun prairie, wi and i thought the schooling was great. It was quick, i got my cdl and i have a good job thanks to them. Its a good feeling having my cdl, and being nccer certified on a list of equipment because it really opens up the possibilities for other jobs if i ever have issues with my current job.
I just applied for the apprenticeship program at Operating Engineers local 12 in Redlands, Ca. I was about to enroll at ATS but the union apprenticeship training is free and you get 60% of journeymens pay while training. Get paid while you learn can't beat that.
i just graduated from ATS in nov 2009.... in sun praire wisconsin...... amazing school great insructors..... i learned a ton..... if u wanna be a operator go to this school ....
Our past students have found the training to be not only comprehensive, but also delivered in a way that creates an environment to bring out the best in people. These students have been appreciative of the trainers, the facilities and the equipment used.

The real work horse on any construction site has to be the dump truck. They work tirelessly all day every day carting loads of rubbish, building materials and rocks and placing it where it belongs. They may be called dump trucks, and they certainly do 'dump' their load, but their nothing careless about the way they do it.
HAHA! I checked out "nahets" and they are only a group of like 4 schools! ATS has 9 schools! Why would anyone care about a "nahets certification" when you can get nationally certified at ATS for WAY LESS than that of a nahets school.. I also think its pretty funny that they go on their competitions page and try to trash them.. It shows their "character". I ended up going to ATS and I'm glad I did. I saved a TON of money and I got REAL certification.
The crappiest heavy equipment school in the world is located in Victorville California. It is an ATS school. Don't believe me? just look at a picture of that run-down hell hole. I went there to save some money and it was the worst decision I've ever made. Spend the extra money on a real school.
If you are serious about attending school to learn heavy equipment operation, you need to check out NAHETS dot COM - all NAHETS schools teach the Yellow Metal Bootcamp system (in conjunction with many of the largetst equipment manufacturers) which includes NCCER certification PLUS advanced NAHETS certification.
Unfortunately, these schools aren't certified by NAHETS (National Association of Heavy Equipment Training Schools). Compare standards and see what is required to graduate from ATS (NCCER certification) and then check out NAHETS standards (make sure you see Yellow Metal Bootcamp!)

Why don't they show you setting at a waste area sleeping?... Not as action packed as they portray in this video.
But yea operating is fun for a few hours a day but it gets old.

If you go to the ATS school in Victorville, you will waste every penny. The place is a dump.
