I think peolpe are just consumers and i also know that a lot of people are going to comment a lot of shit about this comment but honestly this band can´t overcome neither Led, QOTSA or Foo´s... i really dont like it... For an example Jack White has done a better job when it comes to make great rock "Super-band´s"... don´t get me wrong i really like the work of these musicians, but only on they original bands, this TCV is just emptyness

@damaffio Well it´s original that a simple fact and it really can see that there is great chemestry between them, is one of those bands that you give them a second chance and i really hope that on the next album they pull it off better cause in this record i felt like they have one minute that takes you to the glory but the next 3 or 4 minutes dont have that rush that they can really develop

Then at the start of the year I decided to give it another chance. I take back everything I said about it before, especially the whole "This is just a very poor sounding QOTSA album". @nessiebreath - You can hear the bass runs on this perfectly... as far as contribution goes, the songs are "written by Them Crooked Vultures" so who knows who did what as far as writing goes. There are millions of QOTSA fans that would disagree with 'your opinion' on Hommes writing technique.

Go back and look (aimed at nessiebreath) at Hommes back catalogue i.e; Kyuss, QOTSA, Desert sessions , EODM, etc. and then tell me he can't write songs. He is a musical genius, that's fact no opinion. I can give you examples of this aforementioned genius if you desire?

Whole thing hangs together with Dave Grohl. Simply the best rock drummer still alive. Ferocious, and not up his ass with abstract technique that no-one is interested in. Can't hear Jones sadly. Never been that convinced about Josh Homme's writing ability, they should allow Jones to contribute there methinks.

I think to call Dave Grohl "the best rock drummer still alive" is to show a huge lack of knowledge in the area; don't get me wrong, I love Dave Grohl, and think the man's a living legend. BUT he isn't the best rock drummer around by far. Watch Neil Peart and then you might have to change your mind.

I am well aware of Neil Peart. He is primarily a TECHNICAL drummer. Sure, as technical drummers go, he is a good enough one, and unlike some others is able to play with some kind of expression and genuine rhythmic sense. But his basic acoustic quality and taste, in rock terms, is nowhere near on this level. In my opinion. All great rock music stands of falls on the INSTINCTIVE quality of the drums, the drummer has to FEEL It.
