william fichtner was also incredible in his only seen. this movie has great action and tons of memorable, meaningful, deep lines and scenes. it's pure gold.
Speaking of politics, George W. Bush is the Dark Knight. He did everything he could to fight terror and save his country- sometimes going beyond the law like Batman did in this movie (bugging phones, breaking the legs of bad guys) - but in the end the political left branded him a war criminal. George Bush had bad policies, but when it came to the war on terror his motives were pure. Before you verbally stone me, first read the article "So, Mr. Hitchens, weren't you wrong about Iraq?"
@oddzeke3210 Yes. But it was earlier stated (several times) that his body armor can take shots from small-caliber bullets. And Harvey's revolver certainly counts. It WOULD hurt like a mofo, but it wouldn't kill or even seriously injure him.
Something I learned from this scene: If you want to shoot some masked hero with all that wicked costume & gadgets, at least point the gun at his head.
Harvey's fall was very sad indeed, but also scary because anyone can turn into him, there's nothing scarier than a person who has nothing left to lose and blame's everyone else for what has happened to them.
personally, I love when batman interjects quickly in desperation with 'because you were the best of us' . . . almost like batman is just pleading for two face to understand. Brilliant scene!
In this film, Two-Face is so underrated. It's not that Heath Ledger wasn't an amazing actor in this, it's just that Aaron Eckhart doesn't get the recognition he deserves for playing this role.
"You think I want to escape from this?! THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM THIS!" Absolutley bone chilling you could almost start crying when you look at how far he fell.
I agree, Dent's lines are awesome in this scene. And Batman's too :
"Then why was it me who is the only one who lost everything ?"
"............. It wasn't ...."
How Batman/Bruce tries to accept Rachel's death is absolutely touching. Plus in a better quality we could have seen that Batman's eyes are bright, like he was about to cry. See, that's what I like in this movie : Batman tries to be the perfect superhero but still has human limits.
"Its not about what I want its about whats FAIR!!!" that line gives me chills everytime I love the way Nolan and Eckhart gave us the tragic villian known as Two Face rather than the tommy lee jones version
@sharksfan702 yeah. i laughed(LOL'd) at tommy lee jones's twoface death. aaron eckheart's two face death was very simplistic and chilling and intense. the dark knight rules!!!
I always wondered why they didn't have Gordon's daughter be the more prominent child in his family. The Batman canon would have been better served even if we never get to see Batgirl in the Nolan series.
@JamesDolorusSable You know exactly what I'm talkin' about. Gordon has done 2 great jobs in both movies. He did a great job in The Book Of Eli as well.
@yvettestinks01 - I'm not so sure we can discard Bale's acting so easily. It takes some skill to act from behind a mask after all. There wouldn't be a Batman movie without him. That said, Eckhart was pretty darn amazing. His acting in the hospital (reacting to the Joker) was mesmerizing.

Harvey: Then why was it me who is the only one who lost everything?
Batman: It wasn't...
Ignored response with miles of emotional depth in it. My favorite type of quotes.

So incredibly tense. Harvey's wrath combined with Gordon's desperation. He holds the gun to his boy's head. Flips the coin, it goes spiraling.
Then the dude just gets straight up BATMANNED.

All I can think of during this scene is: Dude, you're trying to save a little kid from getting shot! Stop with the voice for a minute!

@EyeOnTheTV LOL Nolan and Bale really hate the idea of having the sidekicks so I seriously doubt seeing Robin/Batgirl in his version of the films
