Ray Allen and Paul Pierce were both drafted with high expectations and commanded more money when coming into the league. Ginobili had to play overseas for a couple of years before the spurs even brought him over to play here in the nba and he's made a name for himself here. Paker was drafted late in the second round and came in at 19 years old from France. Neither player was supposed to be good. That's what Tim does, he makes his surrounding cast better. KG can't make the same claim.

KG is averaging the least amount of assists in his career this year.when he was on minnesota he had an average asisst of 5.0 a game for all those years.tim duncan had david robinson, stephen jackson, sean elliot,steve smith,finley,parker,bruce bowen, etc.for all those years and still only got 3 assists a game. and KG got to the WCF by himself (cassell was out for half the series, and sprewell was ready to retire)

kgs assist went down when he started playing power forward more. if you watch a game you'd understand y duncan doesn't get more assists. as soon as he kicks it out to the 3, theres usually at least 1 pass around the 3pt line before a shot is taken.

Research? Do you think I'm getting my information from the Canadian Gazette? He makes everyone that plays around him better and I can't take credit for being the first to say that either. Countless pro's, analysts and nba legends have said the SAME. I don't have to research something that's in plain sight. David Robinson was The Spurs best player before Duncan but never got to the finals and never got a ring when he led the team. It wasn't until Duncan came along that he got his two rings.

Once things for sure, if he can't win a ring this year playing with Ray Allen & Paul Pierce, he isn't as good people think he is. Other than the 2 rings won with Robinson, Tim has never played alongside players as high profile as those two. Ginobili and Parker are all stars now but they worked to earn that respect and position.

So, after disregarding the statistics and awards/rings, Garnett ends up on top (not by a long shot but he's pretty distanced away). You can disagree, it's not my problem. Just don't tell anyone it's just luck/coincidental how Garnett leads the league in Efficiency and is rated higher than Duncan (and the highest player) in most of the NBA video games.

Also, Garnett has the SPEED which Duncan lacks (a lot, apparently). There is nobody in this league that is fast enough or big enough to guard KG. Duncan is nothing out of the paint while Kevin Garnett can do everything all over the court. Just watch and see.

Just take a good look. Can Duncan play all the positions on the court? No, not even. KG can. Sure, you can say, "Duncan is better at the power forward position!". Not neccesarily. The position of the power forward is not to purely dominate. You still have to be a team player and this is wear KG stands over Duncan. A few years ago, Duncan had to post big numbers ACROSS THE BOARD for the Spurs to have a shot at winning. Nowadays, he doesn't have to do that. If pop were to change things up and have Duncan as the first option again then he would naturally post better number across the board. Duncan had David Robinson alongside him for 1 championship not all 3. The other rings are even more impressive because it was done with role players and crappy centers like Rasho Suckavich and Nazr Mohammed. Garnett also played alongside Rasho for many season and didn't come close to the playoffs. He was also playing alongside quite a few allstars during the last 7 years or so like Latrell Sprewell, Sam Cassell, Wally Szczerbiak, Ricky Davis, Keith VanHorn.

Robinson played alongside Duncan for the entire 1999 season not the whole 2003 season. He was injured for 18 games and played only a few minutes in the finals so he wasn't a factor in the 2003 playoff run really. The bench was playing alongside Duncan. This discussion is moot. KG is good but can't compare with Duncan. Any NBA analyst will agree and the fans that don't and use arguments like "Tim is boring" prove my point.

OK the only good season garnett had was with spreewell and cassell. They made it to the semi-finals against the lakers. Cassell got injured along with their back-up troy hudson. So their 3rd reserve point-gaurd along with hoiberg, and KG ended up playing pointgaurd
