@katrinwoody Really... you'v never heard of one of Quentin Tarantino's most popular films? That's pretty neat, considering you recreated it almost shot-for-shot, including the tequila down the leg, over the foot, into the guy's mouth.
@DirkDaring99 I didnt actually invent this footage. All I did was take Rammstein's music video and mash it to fit Marilyn Manson's song. So if anyone ripped it off, it was Rammstein :)
If the film is any good, I will look into watching it, but I can assure you I've never seen it
awesome vid, and a great fucking song, but i must say its kinda creepy when the little girl was singing the chorus. im just saying it really looked like she was saying that. lol
@katrinwoody I think this song is everyones song, and thats what makes it great music. Most people can relate to feeling something like this about a person they were close with, especially a GF or BF etc.
@katrinwoody: You mean the Song Engel by Rammstein? Lots of reasons to think of ignorance when hearing that song and understanding the lyrics. Its not really about much other than depression and death. Much like most other radio rock music.
@TheKuroiSheep I still don't understand why you think its ignorant. Ignorant with respect to the religious view of what an Angel is? I'm just curious.
And not all radio rock is about depression and death, I actually feel that not that many are about depression and death anymore, but there are always some like that kicking around. It's a popular subject across all genres of music.
@katrinwoody: Ignorant in the regard that life isn't all shit, there is always another way out besides self-abuse. And I find that most Rock music today is self-loathing and pessimistic about stuff, or it is narcissistic. Two things I nor Marilyn Manson condone.
@TheKuroiSheep I honestly got a whole different viewpoint of the lyrics. But they're always up for interpretation from all points and perspectives, so though our thoughts may differ, I am appreciative and respectful of your ideals. And there's lots of rock songs that aren't self-loathing, narcissistic, or pessimistic, you've just got to know where to look. But I see your point, they are common topics. And frankly, Marilyn Manson is REALLY pessimistic.
@katrinwoody: Yes, but is that interpretation correct? That is the real question. Bands like Marilyn Manson have a set ideal of what message they want to get across. And they do it in such a different way. Also: Marilyn Manson is far from pessimistic. You might want to read all of their lyrics and come back later. The problem with most people is that they don't pay attention to the lyrics. Its all about the "shock value" or presentation of it all. Not the contents. That's society, I suppose.
@TheKuroiSheep I don't think that there is a 'correct' interpretation of a song. There may be an intended one by the artist, but beyond that it all depends on the person. And I'm an avid MM fan, and I do listen to his lyrics, and a lot of his songs focus on the detrimental state of society and how it functions. Quite pessimistic.
@katrinwoody: Firstly, Marilyn Manson is a BAND. Anyways, the intended message is the correct one. However, I do realise there are bands who leave their songs open to interpretation. However x2, Marilyn Manson is not one of those bands. Also, if you read all of their lyrics and find common ground between all of them; and if you listen to what they have to say about the songs--you will realise they aren't pessimistic at all. Its contrary to the popular belief that they are about suicide and such.
@TheKuroiSheep Marilyn Manson= Band Name of the lead singer of the band. Since he sings the lyrics, I was specifically referencing him. And the lyrics I hear are about society and the state of mind it can encourage in people, his entire Mechanical Animals album had that sort of lyrical theme. I feel he presents his lyrics in such a way to make people rethink how life functions, but the lyrics alone ARE pessimistic, regardless of what the outcome message is intended to be.
@katrinwoody: I would say Everything The Golden Age of Grotesque onwards is pessimistic in that respect but everything before that was not. Now, I can see how some of their demo songs and Portrait of an American Family contain pessimism toward hypocrites and such but I don't see blatant pessimism regarding life or survival in those lyrics.
@katrinwoody: That much is already clear, we do see it very differently. And I find that a lot of people look at MM's music in their own way whereas I listen to what the band has to say about their music and then I interpret their lyrics with that newly attained knowledge behind the album in question. But, hey whatever floats your boat I suppose. I'm quite comfortable with where I am so I can gladly agree to disagree with you about music. After all, everyone has different influences and tastes.
