@MrMapleleaf77 Hitting the horse with the reins?! Err, I rewatched it and the rider never did such a thing, the reins aren't even -long- enough for that. He/she does have a crop, which is customary when jumping. You have a longer crop for dressage. It's not to punish, as most non-equestrian people think, it's to direct. I sometimes tap my horse's behind. I NEVER, however, hit her - there are never beat marks. So yeah, stop being so bloody ignorant.

you have no idea how incredibly lucky you are. i had a friend and her horse at a jumper class at a show, he knocked a pole and it fell in front of him, he stepped on it, shattered his ankle, rolled over her head and broke her collar bone. he had to be put down, she got away with 2 months of resting and getting better. your really lucky.

You're extremely fortunate. I've seen falls a lot less intense end in a life flight for the rider. Ive had a horse fall on me as well. I was lucky that I only ended up with a small bruise on my leg. I even rode her back up.
