  • is it logical Jim '. the needs of the one.'

  • i plan to write a story that is the rebirth of the original enterprise

  • This movie was so underrated - I LOVED IT!! Christopher Lloyd was fantastic as a klingon!!

  • Aww the little Spock in you X3 00:05

  • Uhura: Now get in the closet!

    Mr. Adventure: With Sulu?!?!?!?!

  • lol kirk crotch hit xD

  • Sorry I meant think, not thought.

  • I thought IV was one of the best movies.

  • ST: IV The Voyage Home was Undoubtedly the finest Star Trek with the original cast.

  • II, III, and IV make the best trilogy in the history of movies. I could watch all three of them once every six months or so

  • @parrot998

I absolutely LOVED this movie, but the promo rehashes the events of ST III a little too much, IMO, instead of giving a straight sneak peek at ST IV.

  • @knoxvilleguy2 - This promo was made for executives, theater owners and share holders of upcoming films and not released to the public. It was cut before part 4 was filmed in early '85.

  • @TheKillerWithinNJ

I wondered why it was covering ground already covered in ST III, execs, theater owners, etc., are probably so busy looking at the bottom line that they know SQUAT about the actual cinematic contents.

  • With the dialogue voiceover from Leonard Nimoy, this sounds more like a segment on a TV special than a teaser.

  • Awesome. Thanks for posting

  • Not only was it made before the film was shot, but judging by the narrator's dialogue:

    "Greatest space adventure yet"

They probably haven't decided to make an Earth time travel story. Let's face it, Star Trek IV, while a good movie, was far from a space adventure that they're normally known for.

  • Excellent restoration from VHS. Can't even tell.

  • The music from "Star Trek II" goes well with this promo.

  • God I love the old crew and films. Nothing can touch it's majesty.

  • I like this trailer alot because I never saw part three so this was a nice recap HAHA

  • that makes me excited

    i can't woat til december

  • Did they include other films like Jason Lives-Friday The 13th Part VI?

  • so the trailer for 4 is footage of 3 haha

  • --no, if you read my comments below -this was for inhouse promotion of announcing upcoming papramount projects - this was made before Star Trek 4 was shot, and never broadcasted or shown in theaters.

  • Sorry I didn't read it I just watched the trailer which I enjoyed as I have never seen part 3 ....it seems like an old fashion trailer anyway the way its done like a teaser in a way

  • cool

  • (con't) ...Along with this Star Trek 4 promo, was announcements for "An All New Indiana Jones Adventure" featuring footage from Temple of Doom, Top Guns (with an 'S') and Steven Spielberg's Peter Pan.The original tape I still have but it has degraded over the years to a snowy picture. The audio is still fair... I imported it into Final Cut Pro, and ripped the Star Trek 3 DVD and matched the original edit to what we have here.

  • Around 1990 I picked up a VHS tape of movie trailers from a vendor at a comic book convention in NYC. The biggest selling point was trailers from the 3 Star Wars films. Other trailers were of Sci-fi movies of the early 80's and the last hour were one big program featuring upcoming Paramount films. I assume the program was made in 1985. (more..)

  • Wow! I never even heard of this where did it come from?
