  • weird..its like dorian has done this before..

  • Dorians form is perfect. Slow form all the way. Not like the guys in the gym who life weights way too heavy and then jerk all over the place while going too fast

  • at 8.34 when he is working does he touch the ground and then brings his hands up cuz i cant really see plz get bk to me.

  • @imranlatif no dont touch the floor. Just go far enough forward to feel a stretch in ur hamstrings and cant go any further without rounding your back. Then just go back up until your back is in line with your legs but not so far that your back arches past a straight line. The exercise is called hyperextensions

  • sssqqquuueeeeezzzzeeee!!! Luv it Dorian for governer!!!

  • Dorian's the daddy.

  • LOL @ guy at 5:30

  • Dorian knows his shit you can tell....

  • Comment removed

  • El trabajo de la parte baja de la espalda me a dado una buena idea, se agradece, suerte.

  • DY's the mantis!

  • shouldnt he be training fast reps, for his fast twitch muscles, if his a boxer?

  • @frisbyrb5

boxers have to be well rounded. Of course he needs to train his fast twitch fibers, but he also needs to do the slow twitch fibers. You need to be well rounded, he is training with dorian to improve his strength and his muscular endurance

  • Dorian is a hardworking no bull & honest person. I would love to some training sessions with him and feel sore after that, haha

  • this why yates has an amazing hanging back,i was stupid doing faster reps, now im already seeing back thickness,my back is a weak point

  • No kettlebells? No thank you. These exercises are for physique.. I'd rather be STRONG!

    Deadlifting + kettlebells = I'm a beast.

  • Anyone who wants to build muscle has to dip into the cradle of bodybuilding. Any athlete who wants to build muscle tissue will perform some body building workout. For example Evander Hollyfield was trained in the gym by the great LEE HANEY to build muscle for him to compete in the heavyweight division.

  • I'm talking about strength, not size. Your size is about 75% diet, and 25% your exercises.

  • Dorian still looks good, don't you guys think?

  • Now hes off the juice Mr.Yates looks......

  • yea dorians a badass

  • lucky bastard train with mr.yates ... =D

  • @ManoMan1117 You know fullwell that kingshahine did not mean that literally, obvious from his sentance structure and contents!!! Also you know that his point is boxing is hard, requires speed, power endurance, as does a marathon, both use same energy systems, although not to the same extent due to differances in the demands of the activities stemming from differing body movements. Stop being an ass, causing conflict when it is uneccessary bub!!!

  • @ManoMan1117 I care not about waht some1 else said, only that your an idiot that thinks he is smart!! I never said he did use an ergo or boat, but stated the basic mechanics of proper rowing technique.FYI More power and energy is transferred through the legs on a seated cable row than is generated in the arms and back!!!

  • Exactly u just stated the proper rowing technique for being on an ergo and gave a break down of percentages of muscles used for an exercise NOBODY IS COMMENTING ABOUT AND IS NOT IN THE VIDEO, AND WASNT PART OF THE DISCUSSION... Get it?? We were discussing the exercises in the video, u came in and explained how a row on an ergo is beneficial for boxing and i agree with you 100%... So my point was you were completely missing the point which is fine but dont be a smartass about it. Cheers

  • Rowing properly is mainly leg/quad, dominant, 92% of power is generated from the leg drive, 6% from the hips and back, 2% from the arms!!! The motion of the arm is an identicalo nueral muscular pathway to the negative action of a punch, the contraption, priming the muscle fibres for a fast powerful explosion. A punch power is developed in the legs and waste, much like ROWING. I really can not be bothered to go in to any more detail, b ut do not argue with profesionals of their fields bubs!

  • LOL. Thanks for breaking down the proper row for us genius.. unfortunately, there was no full body row done (typically done on a full row machine) on the video, nor was that what anyone on this post was discussing, on the video he did a SEATED row on a cable column and a single arm DB row on a FLAT BENCH, the 92% leg drive doesn't exist when you are sitting down jackass, I'm glad you have some basic understanding of kinesiology all you need now is some common sense and u might go places bubs!

  • @ManoMan1117

psshhh 92% of seated rowing movement is from legs hahaha. Transfigured is obviously jerkin off in the weight room too much.

  • @ people voicing an opinion on something they know nothing about...stop it!!! Proffesional marathon and ultra long distance runners incorporate "SPRINTING" in to their training, this is so they have power to "SPRINT" at a pace they can maintain for the last TWO MILES, and increase it to a near proper "atypical" sprint for the last 400 meters, you can see this on any televised marathon, and long distance event!!!

  • Once again,, nobody here was arguing how to train marathon runners, all i said was in reference to his comment that boxing is like sprinting a marathon<< the person who said it meant it literal and believed that there is a human being capable of sprinting an entire marathon,, if you are going argue with people and try to sound smart have a clue what the topic is.. thanks

    p.s. CSCS, MS Exercise Physiology

  • Some boxers train bodybuilding type movements simply to move up a weight class...nothing to do with performance, they can work at that when they achieve the desired weight.

  • do u fink hes still juicin

  • Don't think there's any point in him doing too much gear now but I imagine he still dabbles probably in stuff like winstrol/anavar.

  • George Foreman had the perect comeback when he wanted to fight Mike Tyson. A reporter commented on Tysons impressive physique to which George replied: "Shucks, that don't mean nothin. His muscles looked real good while he was lying there knocked out on the floor." Muscles dont mean much in the ring. Its the fight in the dog.

  • I think Dorian knows what he's doing.

  • i agree...this guy will create extra meat that would not function inside the ring.hehe

  • ummmm....you do know that Evander Holyfield was trained by Lee Haney...he did tons of bodybuilding movements...gained enough muscle to move up to heavyweight and...well you know the rest of the story... Weightlifting is good for ANY sport.

  • I agree that weightlifting is good for any sport, and did not say it was not. My point was i did not agree with some of the exercise choices, and the long slow tempos of the lifts which are referred to as TUT (time under tension). Dorian yates though being experienced in the field maybe has a reason for his choices, im was just speaking hoping that he was not like many uneducated people in the field that think bodybuilding exercises are the way to train athletes.

  • pretty much any lifting one does is a bodybuilding movement as it builds the body or the muscle trained...keep in mind many people thought that about almost all sports at one time...look at golf even....i always heard way back not to lift for golf, now Tiger and all the pros do some kind of resistance training and it has improved their game. I am not a boxer, but being stronger and having strong back muscles seems would only make someone a better boxer.

  • My point was that when training for sports such as boxing integrated exercises make more sense. Traditional body building exercises like most of the ones he just did are more isolated exercises, for example unless you are a rower i dont see any benefit in doing a pulling exercise while sitting for any athlete. With that said if your goal is to just put on mass like in bodybuilding then you do not need to pay as much attention to integrating.

  • rowing helps boxing out.

boxing lasts 12 rounds. it is like sprinting in a marathon. you need muscular endurance, if you have ever boxed you would know your arm gets tired punchingp people

  • 1. Nobody SPRINTS a marathon. 2. boxing is nothing like running a marathon,, boxing is simply like boxing. 3. These exercises arent doing anything to help his muscular endurance. Rowing also doesn't prevent your arms from getting tired it is an exercise for you back musculature.. All i meant by my initial comment was slow isolated "body building" type exercises usually aren't ideal for a boxer, but like i sed n some other did maybe he has a reason for choosing these during that period of time

  • you don't get it because you have never boxed.

look at manny pacquiao against de la hoya.

he was literally sprinting a marathon. blistering speed over 8 rounds

  • Pacquiao is faster stronger and simpley a better fighter. He is more explosive if thats what you mean by sprinting a marathon that he is an explosive fighter i agree with you 100 percent and you need to train doing explosive exercises and is the point of what ive been saying, i have boxed, nowhere near the professional level, but if weight training is part of you boxing the majority of the weight training should be explosive muscle endurance training, not slow isolated body building exercises

  • i don't disagree about weight training, weights are important very important. everyone needs a certain amount of strength.

i just disagreed when you said something like rowing doesn't help, you need muscular endurance. its necessary

  • and again maybe this type of training that he was doing was just part of a 2 or 3 weeks strength cycle,, who knows?

  • i agree with u.. i know wasim the guy dorian is training..he is i believe working on his strength.. wasim used to weigh 16-18 stones prior to this.. so he is tightening his body aswell.

  • wow he looks so different now that he is no longer Jacked

  • to me it look like a leprichaun to me all u gota do is look up in the tree. who all see the leprichaun say YAY!

    YAAAAY!!
