  • Fantastic. For my money the romantic impulse is fully justified. There is still such an inner structure to my ears and heart. Pure water over Zen rock garden stones. Thank you God. Thank you Mr Gavilov.

  • Near perfect in my mind. But- agh! Why did he end on a minor??? (Where is the revelation at the end of the lament??)

  • Gavrilov's Bach has its moments, but in my opinion, there is too much of the romantic in him ;) Too much rubato.. I'm a baroque keyboardist myself and spent a few years playing nothing but the ps&fs. The joy, for me, is in the heartbeat that pulses throughout each one. Music this intricate can produce depth of feeling within the tempo; there is no need for robbing time. This is one of my favourite fugues to hear and play; the walking bass lines that run through it are so jazz.. :)

  • cos he is a pimp...

  • why is he wearing a humongous fake diamond ring?

  • 2:28 ?!?

  • lol... ok, but forget about that ;)

  • He plays it like a passion fugue and in a sense it is because it ends like one.

    I agree, brillant.

  • I really don't like this interpretation... I don't know. I miss the generally gestus, a tempo through the whole fuge... he stops everytime, there is not really a movement in there.

however, the prelude played by him is brilliant.

  • brilliant..

  • wow! awesome
