  • paulo cohelo is the real culture! :D

  • I love all kinds of cultures. After a lot of travel, I adopt traditions that make my life better. For instance in Romania, my cuscra have a toast every night to something or someone. It was fun to focus throughout each day on the blessings, then later acknowlege with family gathering at the evening meal, making a bright toast each night. Thankyou, Blessings Paulo xo

  • some said there is no such thing as better culture and worst culture,we have our goods and bad we make them and the culture influence us one person really counts and if some want to change it just need little bit of courage to do so

  • Lose the superior feeling that many people have and get in touch with the poor inhabitants of nations who really can share their culture of their country. People on the internet and their culture look alike or try to find people who have simularities with them.

  • I think that the most important aspect of culture is what I call prevailing attitude.

Unfortunatly the attitude of elitism or systems of seperation are the seeds of horror that lead to conflict instead of cooperation.

The positive shift I see coming is the trends of connection emerging as prevailing attitude. We are approaching DELIGHT in one another as diversity and this can save the world. We humanity

    are the world.

Become love...connect, with respect, delight in the other.

  • @paulo: why don't you ask the aliens you experienced to meet in the mojave desert lately? they might come up with wonderful new ideas and concepts how we could change our way of life/culture so everybody would be happy and we could create a paradies on our earth. no more war, no more pain, no more sorrow, no hunger or ecological disorder, only peace, happyness, and endless love. please let me know what you can find out.

  • Firstly we need to understand different cultures to appreciate our own.

  • Culture, Religion these are all ways that push people apart, and bring people together. The differences in different cultures such as the food they might eat, or the god they believe in can all have an affect of hatred or of love. The unifying thought about culture is that all around the world, people created and made things that they believed in. We are nothing without hope and everything with it. Culture has a great impact on a individuals personality in the meaning that culture is what we are

  • We do not need to cultivate cultures to change the world. We must let it take it's toll, and let the people evolve culture, and culture evolve people naturally.

  • Culture influences the people, and as time passes, the people slowly influence the culture causing it to evolve. Culture is a beautiful thing that can change the world only as far as we allow it to. Through acceptance, we can learn about other cultures in the world and explore new avenues of possibility and let our minds lead astray. The cultural diversities in the world, of every community, put colour and difference into our world.

  • Can culture change things in the world? By definition, culture is all the knowledge and values shared by a society. So ultimately, culture is what makes up the world. Different people following different practices and living the way they do, because they believe that it is the best way to live and because they believe that there values and morals are the right ones to be following.

  • i agree with you.

i think pc does not understand what the word culture means or he means something completely different then culture. or he might ask, *how* we could change the culture, or change or work with our believes, or work (via internet) together, etc.

but asking: "can culture change anything in this world?" is really stupid question.

but then i think, he is only looking for some new ideas for a speech or his forum talks. a bit cheap.

  • I think various cultures can change the world, but it is a progression and the ontology of decisions, technology and action within each culture that gradually influences another. Often times change evolves so slowly that the effects are lost on us until we reflect upon the past. I believe we have grown into seeking immediate gratification, which has hindered the changes that could have happened.

  • I am lucky to live in a community with many different cultures, its far from perfect but slowly as people take time to appreciate and understand eachother cultures changes take place.Cultural things such as food and music has united people. Things have changed in 100 years but maybe I choose to focus on the good and not bad bits! lol

  • La Rebellion de las Masas by the Spanish philosopher Ortega y Gasset comes to mind; his exposition of the idea that culture is a delicate vulnerable phenomena, all too easily lost. Remember the dark ages? The open ones who give their best, the artists, philosophers, spiritual masters and the rare leaders may be all that keep us from a descent into chaos. The tight rope we walk: baser instincts vs awareness. Those who shape culture are vulnerable to silencing. Kali's lessons also come to mind.

  • Culture is the fabric that hold society together, it can be unifying or divisive, depending on what the culture is. The best culture is one which breeds tolerance, education, happiness - if we start embracing this and discarding divisive, silly culture then the world would be a better place.

  • I hope u ll read it.

The World is no longer the same place socially, politically, economically and culturally, and art seems a quaint anachronism in this modern world. I was thinking that art colonies would be a good idea. It's not a fashion! They do not need to operate as a caprice but A CHANCE! To provide covertures, initiations,in order to find an inspiration, opportunities and constructive competition. to boost creativity in young people s mind I believe that THE ART is a shelter for all.

  • Culture can change things, however it take a long while to change culture itself. Values and beliefs are at the basis of culture. These values are what can change this world to a better place. However what values is our culture currently upholding?

  • hard question,I think yes,it does have crucial importance on our lifes,it rises us to a higher level of our spirituality, makes our life richer, our problems much furder, its crucial, but of course not the only thing that has strong reflection on our life

  • What a difficult question! Well, I think culture CAN change things, as culture is anything we believe; even money has the value we believe it has. The value of anything is stated by culture. Any human behavior is determined by culture. The hard thing is to CHANGE cultural beliefs and behaviors. Culture can change itself only if humans are open to change. But human mind is very conservative and traditionalist; it is scared by change. Mind always seeks conservation, continuity.

  • Culture is a set of rules set by men, who once, at their time era, believed it to work for them the best. At a lot of times, I believe culture holds me and my countrymen behind; Egypt. Some cultures are productive and progressive in their nature, others are designed with a mindset that is of primitive, greedy, or over ambitious nature and holds back an entire society from becoming a small portion of their true and high caused potential. cultures must change to adapt to mankind's progress.

  • i think culture is the only safe way for this world to be a better place for human beings.... it will help people to get over wars, racism, discrimination, conflicts , & will help them to get to know more about their rights, their duties,to respect others, to help the weaker & encourage the stronger.

culture would help us to make our lives easier, our bodies immune, our brains bigger.

i hope this great movement could affect the third world's countries which suffer alot from ignorance.

  • Its weird that you mentioned 3rd world countries, because its been always obvious to me that thóse countries are very well cultured, and in most cases their culture is what makes them live together peacefully, all sects with all diversity. And then when you take a look at the 1st world countries you find racism, they judge anyone who looks different,or dresses differently,or doesnt speak the language and export wars! Dont point fingers, the whole world is a mess!

  • it's obviously that u didn't live b4 in 3rd world country!!!! we r also having racism, & many of us don't accept the other if he is different & we have a conflict between religions.....but i agree with u that the whole world is a mess!

  • I've lived in Saudi Arabia my whole life, and now I'm studying abroad.

  • i think culture is the only safe way for this world to be a better place for human beings.... it will help people to get over wars, racism, discrimination, conflicts , & will help them to get to know more about their rights, their duties,to respect others, to help the weaker & encourage the stronger.

  • Culture is a conditioned response

We all have the power to give/respect/hold out a hand of help when asked for

We have the power to do the opposite.

A certain determination to stay with the higher mind that creates beauty out of devastation or depth of self understanding from tragedy

    Culture that promotes self examination

Age is a delight not a failure to stay unwrinkled.

Culture that turns religious and cultural norms upside down then explores that what had been previously denied

  • Perhaps we should start with the question

is the culture creating the society or the society create the culture.

I believe the beginning has to come from spiritual awareness of each person to develop

positive approach in life... be strong and not to be affected by wrong ideas and concepts... very often promote by media... and setting wrong trends, interest and talking us of our own core.

Perhaps if the media change.... the culture and the society will change for better

  • How strongly one believes in something is entirely separate from culture, and it can be a very powerful force for hope and change. For instance, if all the people in the world developed the very strong belief that war is wrong and should not be engaged in no matter what, we would not have war. From that belief, you get a culture of peace. The belief comes first; then, the culture.

  • The question you should really ask Paulo is, is there any point in asking any question in the first place? i think all the questions you ask you already know the answer to, or you should have an inkling. and if you don't, the answer does not lie on youtube. so the last few sentences are futile. good luck with the search

  • What it comes down to is that you realize, as big as this world is, as many people as there are-- there's really more a world culture now, that even though we all differ around the world in our beliefs in customs, I think we're at that point now in history where people base their culture more on their personal experiences.

So as I said, I might be an American by birth, but I really see myself more recently as a citizen of the world rather than a citizen of a country.

  • I think of lot of the importance of culture comes from just experiencing it, the only way it can be efficiently used to enact a change more or less comes from the person themselves.

I'm an American, proud or not-- it's still a fact of who I am, but by participating in forums and networking sites, you meet people so unlike yourself and through that you learn a lot about yourself on a rawer level.

It's only when you really start to talk to someone that you realize the differences are minute.
