  • The stock motor was 2.8 liter, but you can get the 3.0 liter..has to be imported from Japan....could only get them used..I had one in my 85....

  • I love how the car looks completely stock. Friggin awesome, man!

  • is this a 6cyl?

  • @ReidHarris7

    Yes, 2.5L twin turbo Inline-6

  • @dmadn wrong 2.8 was that years engine the 84ish era body style then in 1993 i think they came out with a 3.0L, that 1jz is a 3.0L TT, 1JZ-GTE

  • clean car!

  • parents had the same car. dad said hit was fast as hell

  • how did you solve the motor mount problem when you did tha swap? i was going to do a 2jz in mine but the 7mgte swap there is not motor mount swaping.

  • the dogs like " omfg wtf"

  • lol my other car / my calvilier can do that lol

  • how much work did it take to get the 1jz into your car.

would it be easier to get a 7mge into my 84 mk2? also how hard would it be to get 300n/a whp out of a 1jz verses a 7mge

  • Hell yeah that car is..A PUPPY!

  • wicked car i want it. little better then my AE86 lol

  • and spining out on dirt and rocks... messing up paint and joints... nice...........

  • For sure dude. You gotta seal up underneath if you're going to do that.

  • Nice. I really want to do that, but i want to know how much it will cost me to get it going good, at a shop professionaly done

  • sounds good.. poor dog though you scared thei shit outta him haha

  • got myself a 86 mk2 ive gotten a chance to tear into it a bit. but i need to find a transmission out of a turbo supra and a turbo rear end. dropping the 2jz engine into mine just gotta find out who makes engine mounts for it.

  • 4300+ views and nothing going on in the vid... Not flaming but goddamn, have some footage standing on the thing or dyno pulls.:)

  • Fair enough, I need to post some new stuff agreed! Will do so soon...

  • that dog is like... wtf is this fool doing

  • LOL! Yeah he wasn't even scared, he was just staring! coodog

  • Nice car, with a nice sound to it, I have 2 Mk2's in my lot, going to fix 1 up and fit it with an m90 to get it to do 0-60 in about 6,5 instead of 9.. Next step after that is a 2jz convertion.

Got to ask, does the rear axle, gearbox and everything else hold up well? How many HP do you have in that thing? I've heard mk2 stock parts can't go much further than 350hp

  • Well the 1jz has 280 so you no you can handle that much.

  • why do you call it a celica supra...its either one or the other...

  • The model was not referred to as "Supra" until the third generation. First and second generations were "Celica Supras." Look it up.

  • Yep, first one is now a days refered to as a mk1, and the one in this clip Mk2. But the real name is Toyota Celica Supra, stretches up to the 1986 model, then we have Supra mk3 and the last one mk4...

  • @Lanzerx07 in 1984 they were called celica supras, with a 4cyl and a 6 cyl, even the MK3 supras was celica supras, some of them like in 86.5 i belive, they werent called supras till like 87, i could be wrong but i know im 80% right

  • As if 7mgte wasn't cool enough! Congrats on the car and keep posting :)

  • Thanks! There are several others who have done this before me here in the States as well.

  • does the engine pretty much bolt on to the mounts or do you have to modify it or something?

  • Custom mounts are required. There are a few different ways to do it. We chose to use the 1JZ OEM upper mounts and fabbed custom lower mounts.
