to the comment about the radio exposure; for the first like, 8 years 311 was on the scene, they played them on the radio so fucking much, that i got sick of them, and only now have been able to start listening to them again. to me THAT is weird. they used to get toooooo muuuuuch radio play, and now you never hear it any more. what is up with that? dont get me wrong, i love 311, but to me they will always be the "easy listening" version of sublime. maybe thats because im 34 i cant say why....
Coda is such a beautiful little song... it really cheers me up when I hear it. This is the best band on the planet right now. Their live shows are life changing experiences. P-Nut is one of the best entertainers alive. The way he can manipulate a crowd and his bass while making audio love to our ears is some sort of super power. God damn I love this band!
u are all babies........if u r not in ur 30's then u don't know 311....but the funny thing is that their target market are like 18 -25 yr olds....what fucking sellouts...gotta get paid somehow i guess!?
I love this song...My favorite band and one of the greatest bands ALIVE...With the multiple change-ups on this one, this literally sounds like 4 different songs put together, then, the bass solo ("Coda") at the end is the CLINCHER! Long live 311!!!!!
@HeatHex311 I'm glad to know I'm not the only 20 something yr old that still digs 311... I started listening to them in 6th grade, I'm 26 now. I own all their cds and have a 311 sticker on my car, HUGE fan!!! I've never seen them in concert, but it's deff on my wish list
@starburste84 Seeing them in concert is a must! I have lost count on the times I have seen them but it never gets old, they are an incredible live band!
I think this is their best song. I saw them live and they were great as is the live video of this tune. I'm surprised so many don't know them ~ wow only 8400 views ~ its too bad.
i've been playing 311's song since d last 5 years..n diz is among the best they've done...nice melody..nice arrangement..n i really like the bass solo at the end...damn...hail 311
SUCH an amazing tune. The change-up at 3:16 is sooooo characteristic of 311. They can change the mood of a song so well. Probably one of the most under-appreciated bands around.
i have just been introduced to this band by a freind from the states, he suggested it after i told him i like sublime and slightly stoopid.. wow, what have i been missing all these years. i wish we had music like this in england. 311, i smoke a blunt to you. respect
yeah, i hear ya man, im 26, and every time i hear it it's like hop'n in the "way back when machine". god, it does NOT seem like its been almost 14 years since i heard my first 311 : /
@beast636363 Same here, I heard 311 for the first time when I was in 6th grade, I'm now 26, still a fan, own all their cds....hope to see them in concert sometime! 311 is AMAZING. I freak out when I meet some one who hasn't heard of them, I'm like...ok, you need to come with me, I'll introduce you, prepare for AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!
I know. You'd think a band that has sold millions of records and sells out shows all over the country consistently for almost 15 years would be known by more people, but strangely, they're not. My wife didn't know who they were when I met her.
I was a freshman in high school in 1995 and they were HUGE so I guess they are "old" to the current generation of teenagers. Fuck it, they'll always be the most important band to me.
@RicksonByArmbar I started listening to the self titled album at 7yrs old haha now I am 22 and following them ever since (Not too happy with newest album though)
@RicksonByArmbar I found out about these legends whn I was 5. God, am I lucky. It was my big brother who influenced me into all the music I love today
@RicksonByArmbar ive known about them literally since the day i was born, my brother was a huge fan of them when he was young and i listened to them on the way home. loved them ever since
@RicksonByArmbar Dude I Hear You! I Started Listening 2 them about the time of Transister! I Saw Them In Jones Beach LI And It Was THE BEST SHOW IV SEEN! 311 FUCKIN ROCK!
@RicksonByArmbar Agreed, they are surprisingly underrated. I've been listening to them since I was 12, and I've never met anyone who had even heard of them. If I had to guess, though, I would say their lack of exposure might have something to do with the diversity of their sound - the popular radio stations only like to play the most generic crap, so a band that mixes a bit of everything won't fit the mould.
311 shows are wild.........from skull smashing mosh pits......to relaxing joint smoking......its a true rollacoaster of emotion.....brilliant......
