@TheCoffeeShopShop Yeah, regrettably, indeed...Had I lived back then, I would've loved to have met that girl. Goes to show that there really were a fair amount of women equally as attractive and/or even more so than the women of today--and they also had great taste in music!
@TheCoffeeShopShop Yeah, it seems like those in other countries seem to appreciate old classic music from America better than most Americans themselves...I stumbled upon this from surfing music on here. See, I'm an aspiring filmmaker and I just love classic music. I love it; the more popular stuff all down to the less appreciated stuff like this. Currently, I'm developing the idea for a comic book-like neo-noir and I was wondering if you knew of some music that would fit that style....(Cont.)
@TheCoffeeShopShop I've always liked the instrumental surf rock of the '60s. I like all of it, but I don't believe it's all movie material, if you know what I mean. I like music that fits the mood and beat of a film. I don't like it when they just throw music in there to sell or have something to keep the film running. I like it to work. And I've found that surf rock and comic books work. Like, whenever I listen to Tube City by The Trashmen, I think of a badass cover to a pulp comic.
@TheCoffeeShopShop My film is going to be like a comic book, but it's also going to be like a film noir--it's just going to be colored. It's going to have the color and cinematography of a film like Pulp Fiction mixed with the coloring of Blade Runner. And I was thinking about using Tube City as the opening credits sequence for it. It's just...I'm afraid it wouldn't fit the film. It is somewhat darker and gives us an insight to the protagonist's detective-esque mind.
@TheCoffeeShopShop Because I want it to be like a comic book, I'm planning on hiring a comic book artist to be the creative director and storyboard it; that way, it'll literally be shot-for-shot like a comic. So for the opening credits, I was thinking about having bright candy-colored shots of the graphically storyboarded characters in the film along with their actor/actress. But I don't know what track to use. I'm thinking of Jack Nitzsche but I can't find anything appropriate. Got any ideas?
@Transformers2themax If it's really "neo noir" style, you can try this youtube.com/watch?v=Q3Utd4q7V8g. Classical, but with a dark ambient very "detective film". [Sorry for my english, i don't speak very well...]
@TheCoffeeShopShop Thank you so much, but it keeps turning up as 500 Internal Server Error. If you could, please, just tell me the name of the track and the composer/artist.
@Transformers2themax I send you a private message. The track is : Sy Oliver - Stu's Blues. But i think you re looking for something more dynamic. Keep looking in the chanel of bistok5 or tuberider1976, you'll find your tresor.
@TheCoffeeShopShop And what I'm really looking for is a combination of Greek/Lebanese-esque surf rock mixed with jazz from detective films. I believe that was kind of Jack Nitzsche's style, but I can't find anything of his that would work. The Last Race is definitely like a mixture of surf and jazz, but that's been used by someone else you may know...besides, that really is too visceral for my film in general.
